  • if you record the Juno in Cubase fx, is that material then audio or can you record it as midi and then bounce the tracks in your daw when youre happy with em?

  • Roland burned me on repairs on there F'ed up LCD screen. I am disgusted with their customer service. As a long time Roland user I will not be a future customer as a result of their lack of effort or concern in helping me resolve a problem they KNOW THEY sent out the door!!!!

  • @Studi0rat Yet in my experience Roland have, by far, the best customer service of any company I've had dealings with whether music based or not. At least here in the UK they are. Roland UK have always gone out of their way to help me out if I've ever contacted them.

  • ATENCION!!!! con este teclado, la pantalla FALLA despues de un tiempo, es un problema masivo y ROLAND no se hace responsable, invito a investigar un poco en youtube o google.

  • i own this keyboard personally. its a good keyboard. but if i were anybody. id save up my money for somthing a little expensive. the sounds tend to lack tone. They seam to be missing that warmness and beefyness that people look for

  • @Demonicfire11 and i forgot to mention. this keyboard is VERRY CONFUZING. getting used to it takes alot of time and dedication

  • Once a roland... Always a roland....

  • Muy bueno ...

  • This keyboard is better than the original Juno in many ways. I own both analog and digital juno's. I make my own patches from scratch on the Juno G using the different wave form samples.Yes it is a rompler but if you take your time and tweak the sounds you can get analog sounding patches made and sounds that no analog can make. Its a great keyboard as i can work away from the computer. Once you get under the hood and delve into the synthesis engine it becomes very complex. sounds great.

  • @thefishdog That's exactly it; the JUNO-G makes sound analog DOESN'T make, which, really doesn't qualify it as a juno.

I wish Roland would have named the JUNO-G something else, it's a great keyboard, but not a JUNO :)

Nah, you can't get the same sounds as a JUNO-60 on a JUNO-G. The JUNO-60 has real filters and a unique sub-osc. If you want a bet, I can do some JUNO-60 recordings, and you can try to mimic them on the JUNO-G ;)

  • @raymangold22 The Juno range was Roland best technology at an affordable price offering a mid range keyboard. It is only us that have associated the name with analog and not Roland. In the car industry you don't hear people complaining about models of cars not having the same engines of the same models from the 80's. each juno has unique sounds as each model used different technology.Back in the 80's people moaned about the juno 106 not sounding like the original.

  • @thefishdog There's still people moaning about the 106, lol. The 106 and 60 both share common attributes however, in particular, the waveforms used (sawtooth, pulse, and sub-osc). The digital JUNOs have strayed from this in that they just use the same digital software (Fantom) in all of Roland's other keyboards; with different presets and aesthetics.

So the older Roland equipment had specialized parts giving it a unique sound. Not the case anymore, it's just software at best.

  • hi .. uhm i am just wonder .. do juno gi have some style /rythme variations filling intro ... ?? if so how many ? :S tnx

  • Can you have a multi track midi patterns playing as backing for playing live performance? can you change these patterns by key press ie. when changing from intro to verse, chorus. Can you have the keyboard voices preprogrammed into the backing patterns so that you dont have to search for them when playing live.

  • I just purchased this off Ebay for $525.00 ($550.00 after shipping); I was the only bidder :)))

A synth like this is a must have for any music composer. I've always been the type that wants to compose and trying to become a master of a single instrument has always proved boring to me. I want to master making music and not master playing an instrument. I found this out through the years.

  • impressionante

  • Can you use this as a midi keyboard on Cubase?

  • @SilentSpringBand Of course you can use it as a MIDI keyboard. Heck, you can use the 1980's JUNOs as MIDI keyboards ;)

  • should I get this or the juno gi

  • how to solved latency problem on live setting performance?

  • Pěkné

  • Everyone wants to cry and complain that digital isn't as good as analog but 90% of producers (EDM) that we all listen to have switched to digital or software ! And the music sounds amazing! So really i'm sorry that you paid $10,000 for your synth that you have to keep working on to keep going , i know that must be a pain but time goes on and things change and i'm ok with the change and were all getting tiered of your crying ! NO ONE CARES ! Access virus Smashes 90% of analogs anyways 

  • What is better Juno G or Korg microstation? And why? Thinks.

  • Would u recommend this for playing techno/trance with? how would it compare to say a microkorg in its electro sounds? Thanks

  • @goyankeez Well first of all, consider the mini-keys on the microkorg. If you're ok with playing those (most people aren't) then that's a good first step.

Also, as far as playability and sounds go, I'm quite certain that this synth is superior... BUT the microkorg is not meant to be used as just a synth.. it's a sequencer, primarily. Comes with vocoding etc. I would suggest a workstation and/or the microkorg for techno. Not a synth

  • How much?

  • @guapaholic1 899 €

  • How much?

  • great keyboard workstation, I think it's specs are really top notch

  • Cheep marketing tricks! No relation with vintage juno (except name and face) or anything of analogs!

  • Dont forget to tell them about the defective LCD display.

  • juno g? or guno gi? i cannot decide. and whats so good about a sequencer? every1 is complaining that the gi doesn't have one

  • @yoGregg0ry juno g

  • its good, but im selling it lol

  • @fizikal2008 Hey, I'm interested in buying it. I live in spain .How much are you selling it for?

  • I am sooo unfamiliar with synthesizers... Ive been playing piano for awile now, and i've been wanting a synth really bad for a long time now. I tried this out at guitar center, i loved it, even though it will take me some time to get used to. Think this wouuld be a good first synthesizer?

  • Comment removed

  • @winofred7 Yeah it probably would, I mean regardless if you like it then its probably a good thing. There are many work station type synths out there, Roland has several Juno D, Di, G, etc... they are all rather similar in that they have similar sounds but different features. Other Roland synths are just that, synths with no sequencers built in, like the Gaia and SH 201. If you want a higher end synth then you would get a Fantom X or Fantom G, but they are very expensive. The Junos sound great.

  • @winofred7 depending on what you want to play it may be the good one but it also could be useless, there's so many choices of synths search for the right one before you choose.

  • how is the juno g different to the juno di?

  • dose it have a usb port fore flash stick ?

  • dose it have a usb port for flash mem ?

  • @colscols yes

  • I don't know whether to get a Korg M50 or a Juno G :( help? lol

  • @TheBigWan89 roland

  • @benanderson88

i meant, any discrete machine? for some reason, i can find dedicated machines to synthesize percussion sounds, but no synthesizers or workstations with that option... why is that?

  • @benanderson88

is there any machine similar to this one which can synthesize percussion sounds?

  • Could anyone tell Juno G( latest version 2.0 update) has after touch as well as initial touch?

  • Does this have a hoover preset? :O

  • nice keyboard music youtube.com/watch?v=ZutsW1xhyA4

  • 1st rule...NEVER TRUST THE DEMO...its always great,its always easy..always something...but in reality ...ITS A SHIT BELIEVE ME....

  • @TheKoyaland I think you should also consider the price..

  • Lol my real name is Roland:P

  • this hasn't got fm-synthesis, has it?

  • dang this guy's good lol

  • i like Roland

  • best salesmen ever- let the keyboard talk

great keyboard- but too expensive for me- i got the juno d for $340

  • So basically Roland raped the Juno name? Roland, please get your head out of your ass and create a new Roland 60 or 106 with stable voices and all analogue circutry. Thank you.

  • Beaauuutiful!

  • how much it cost? in dollars?

  • @djomercohen $999.00 brand new

  • Roland isn't along in being guilty of being stuck in the same mode for the past 15 years, take Yamaha for example... well, at least this is a new manufacturer for me (meaning a 'new' sound bank for me, away from Yamaha) and I'll squeeze the unexpected out of this, too...

  • Ha, the strings sound like a final fantasy scene.

  • @YvesIsaki haha yeah it reminds me alot of FFX.

  • Ma, it's time to SHUT UP

  • U SHUT THE FUCK UP

  • You are saying one thing ON AND ON

HAve to be retarded or tiny penis. Both, right?

  • JUNO G or MO6?

  • mo6 ... all the way

  • for me, mo6..

  • MO? Isn´t that Yamaha not Roland.

  • JUNO DI !! OF COURSE!

  • MO6!

  • This does everything that a keyboardist would expect from a modern day keyboard no doubt about that. However, it does NOTHING that a real juno can do, there is absolutely no resemblance other than the styling. I think Roland are naive and really don't understand what it is about their legacy models that made them so special. Those sounds made Roland famous and they should remember that. There are no new keyboards inspiring new genres of music today. Bass and Warmth Roland, bring it back.

  • AGREED!! EverythinG roland makes now, is pure GIMMICK and not substance. All these bells and whistles, but is it a real synth? How could it be with nothin but ROM sounds in it?

A JUNO 106 BLOWS THIS AWAY

  • WOW!!!!!! =0

  • you are missin the point! This sucks because it's NOT an 80's keyboard. It's a MODERN ROMpler piece of shit.

If it were an 80's keyboard, it would sound amazin

  • It's a pretty kool workstation. I dont regret buying it.

  • I own this Synth and personally hate the thing. Regret buying it. only bought it on recommendation. When i look at demos on here its all cheesey piano playing or mimicing another instrument.

Wish id bought an Alesis Fusion. At least you can mimic a Polymoog on that

  • @Lyons010101 So you're saying that this keyboard is not worthy of the Juno name?

That's interesting. From the demo, it sounds Ok, but there's nothing too exciting there - I thought it would mimic all the old Rolands from the jupiter 8 to the juno 6 to the sh101.

  • take it from me...its rubbish

  • @emmetor of course its going to emulate older models of Roland products but Moog is a different company!!!!

  • Uh.. I never mentioned the Moog - anyway, I have no interest in a old Moog - although I'd love to get my hands on a Voyager.

If you're throwing out your Prodigy, then fine, I accept - but otherwise, Id prefer the new Moogs - if I can't sequence it, then it's like a brick.

  • Lyons mentioned it though and you answered that it covers all roland sounds!!!!!

  • this is not a synth at all..it's a piece of krap ROMpler.

How would you think this could emulate the classic analoG synths?

  • Ehm. Marantz, the name ROMpler, which I never heard before sounds absolutely awful, a ROM-sampler?

But then again, does it really matter what the source waveform is? I mean, the old 80s synths only had creaky old analog oscillators. Using a ROM instead of an oscillator was a huge step up in the 90s.

Still though, I hate so many sounds from my Korg M1 so much, but I can't part with it.

The problem with true analog synths is that they get so boring as well.

    I'd love an andromeda

  • A "ROMpler" is simply a keyboard or module that plays back sampled sounds.

This keyboard is not a synthesizer at all, regardless of the presence of a filter. (the filter in it is awful anyway)

The old analogs had a presence, a warmth, and a CHARACTER that cannot be duplicated by keyboard "workstations" such as this.

Using ROM was not a huge step forward..it was a step backwards because the warmth and character disappeared from these instruments once they became ROM based.

  • Oh my God, it IS a ROMpler.

So, this so called "Juno" is not even a synthesier, it's just like a souped up Casio with juno samples??

Oh Wow.... Thanks Marantz for pointing this out.

  • Yep...another gimmicky piece of shit from Roland.

Perhaps sometime in the near future, Roland will make exciting instruments again, but until then we will continue to get generic workstations like this, with all the bells and whistles we'll never use.

  • If you think this is crap, do you know what IS good? What would you recommend?

  • a ACTUAL Juno ( juno 6, 60 or 106) or a jupiter 6 or 8 is always a good alternative!

  • @isaacrife08 getting a jupiter 8 these days could be up to 25,000 dollars

  • @98989898989895764 ? 25000 for a J8 sounds like someone needs to get there facts straight...

  • @MARANTZamp

Juno-g.s synth qualities will satisfy very wide area of users(as does M3 and Motif). You can choose from over 1000 waveforms, layer 4 of them and apply ADSR, LFO, (not to mention choice of over 60 effects which you cant do in analog synth).

Ofc it is not an analog synth, its like comparing a boat and a car, and completely redundant.

  • @Lyons010101 - blame yourself. If I wanted analogue-type synth sounds, of course I would buy an analogue or VA synth. How can one even expect the Juno G act or sound like Moog Voyager or Prophet cause its a workstation synth and has it's aim on realistic emulation of acoustic instruments rather than vintage synth sounds.

  • 2 questions PwrTorch 1_whats are vintage sounds 2 whats the diff between analogue and a reg synth

  • @YoungMalcomX1 well, u know. Standard sounds like Keith Emersons portamento lead or Rick Wakemans sine wave lead. I don't know what you mean with reg(ular?) synth but what I meant was that synths like Juno G are rather based on samples than the actual synthesis itself.

  • I'm still confused as to what you guys are talking about. Nevermind the source waveforms for a second.

Are you telling me that the Juno G doesn't have adjustable envelopes and filters?

  • I picked this up a couple years ago. It's awesome - at least I think so. The built in sequencer takes a little getting used to, but once you do it's fantastic. People complaining about digital vs. analogue should just calm down. Sure, an original Jupiter is going to sound better, but good luck buying one of those and keeping it in working order. Digital has come a LONG way; I can get some sounds out of the Juno G that would make you think twice about whether or not it's digital.

  • whats the diiff between digital and analogue

  • it's not even a synth...it's a ROMpler, which does not deserve the juno name at all.

My advice would be to dump it and Get a juno-106 (much warmer)

Workstation keyboards like this are a disGrace

  • Marantz - these keyboards may - or may not be a disgrace, BUT, the principle is valid.

It's very possible for a digital processor to exactly emulate a proper fat analog synth, in theory, provided the filters and such are analog.

Therefore, you think it's rubbish because of the extra electronics applied to the sampled waveforms in ROM?

So, I think I'm understanding your point better now.

  • @avenuePad I'm with you mate. The argument's got boring.

It's like the argument between Mac and PC.

I buy what suits me and I don't care what other people have :)

  • ROLAND REHASH

  • can I put my microfone in the Juno g

because in the Juno Di its possible

  • yes, you can plug your mic. into it. you can record the vocals and apply effects.

  • -Sequencer allows you to record and playback multiple parts at a time.

    -VSTi is a virtual instrument

  • some people just call it vst instead of vsti right....and thank u for answering god bless

  • yes

  • Some people call it just "VST" but that is incorrect.

VST is the program that HOSTS VSTi's.

To put it in keyboard terms, the VST would be the actual keyboard, the VSTi's would be the individual sounds

  • So the Juno-G has arpeggiator, sequencer, what else? I'm thinking of buying this or the Korg TR so could somebody please tell me.

  • can u please explain what exactly is a sequencer

  • another stupid question :P, how many sounds can i use at the same time? and how many configurations can i build and save within the keyboard?

  • sorry, are these the preset sounds that comes with the instrument? if i buy one i'll get these sounds or is this a module or something?

  • just bought this today.. might bring it back though

  • how come?

  • what attracted me to this was the built in sequencer lol, i will probably trade in for a digital analog

  • y? lol

does it have built in speakers???

  • it doesnt

  • Can it be used as a VSTi in cubase/ Fl studio?

  • any midi controller can use software synths

  • What is a VSTi

  • YoungMalcomX1, a VSTi is a virtual software synthesizer. (:

  • can i sample my own sound on it via usb

  • is there any way to create an 8-bit sound?

  • The Juno-G has 4 LO-FI type of effects: LoFi Noise, LoFi Compress, LoFi Radio, Telephone, and Phonograph

  • The juno g is a pretty amazing synthesizer. It's powerful and unique.

  • Im new to juno G i just got it from my sister and i dont know were to find thease "one finger play sounds" 2:40 were can i find it ???

  • Guitar sound is just like GarageBand's O_o

  • Nice keyboard if you can get a guarantee that the CHINESE MADE display wont crap on you like two of these did to me. I gave up on them.

  • Bought mine today. very satisfied. It's actualy a great compromise for live sessions (samples wise).

  • I bought one of these a month or so ago. I sold it a couple of weeks later. What is all the fuss about. ?.

  • I'm using this keyboard :D

  • is it a sample based synthesizer?

or you can synthesize your own sounds from sound waves?

  • Both ways

  • i'm getting one as soon as i pay the rest of the money

  • juno-g is a multi timbral keyboard also?thanks

  • I recorded with a roland XP 50, that keyboard ROCKS...!!! the piano sound it's the best I've heard... all the leads, strings and sound FX's... but with this, nahhhhh...

  • I didn't know how to create a good piano sound with this keyboard,,, the keys are very small, by the way... the good news is the expression sensor... very very useful... and some lead sounds... the rest, -5... I don't recommend this synth... Even the Korg X3 is too much better...

  • Anyone who has this synth could tell me how many centimeter is the white key of a juno-g? I would really appreciate it.

  • Its very short lol, really. That turned me off.

  • I don't have one but I have played on it at a guitar centre and I think the white keys are about 2 centimeters maybe 2.3 centimeters

  • Do you need an amp to hear the sounds on a juno G or can you play it without one?

  • You need an amp, or headphones. This one doesn't have internal speakers.

  • be careful wearing headphones to keep the volume low when tweaking the sounds, or you'll be in for a surprise, also wouldn't connect this to a stereo system you could blow the speakers, very powerful.

  • Sick!!! Man I wish i could get one but I'm have to settle for that E-mu 64XD wish me luck!!

  • Well mate now you are REALLY WRONG!! GW-8 and Juno G is two different keyboard types. Juno G is synthesizer and GW-8 is a solo keyboard. And Juno G has way more features

  • Yes, he's VERY WRONG! The GW-8 isn't even HALF of what the Juno-G is. The GW is an ARRANGER keyboard. The GW literally has less than 1/4 of the synth editing power compared to the Juno. The GW's sequencer is a JOKE. NO LOOPING, VERY LIMITED AND BASIC, NO STYLE RECORDING. Both the GW and the Juno have their sound sets taken from the Fantom X line, but the GW's voice set adds a few patches from the SonicCell too. However, the Juno-G is 10 times more synth and workstation than the GW-8 PERIOD! :)

  • Ожыдал большего((

  • can i split it in two different effects?

  • I believe you can do effects on the "tone" level of a patch, but not on the patch level.

Keep in mind for the 16 sequenced parts, you can only assign 3 different "effects", at a time with reverb and chorus universal, but that's more than enough for most people.

  • Does anyone else think it looks likes he's wanking at 1:02?

  • lol

  • lmao

that was pretty great that you caught that XD

  • KORG is the best!

  • Korg are fantastic, I own a M50 and have previously had the Triton Classic but, one thing I always find disappointing is Korg's guitars. Lead is not too bad but acoustic is not great.

  • korg is a joke compared to roland. look att he synths in history.

  • it depends on what you need. I looked at both this and the Korg TR. This had an on-board 4-track audio recorder. Very cool. The TR had a full-blown, multi-sample-capable stereo sampler. That's what i needed. Costs less than Juno, too.

  • oh shut the fuck up... let me guees... its a joke because u have roland ?

  • you could simply say "i don't like korg because they're not that good to me compared to roland"

you don't have to be like "korg is a joke"

some people like korg, and don't like having "joke" equipment

    but i agree with eclipsepoland

    shut the fuck up

    korg is awesome

    and so is roland.

    and garbee is ABSOLUTLY right

it all depends on what you need

  • i agree with you levy3poop, the korg has stepped it up with the m3 and allows great quality keyboards for a cheaper price than a roland.

it all depends on what you are playing

  • exactly!

like me, i'm mainly a guitar player who's recently taken up a real interest in synths :P

so i'm gonna probably get the microkorg XL, it's cheap AND my friend who's a serious synth player (in a couple bands, AND plays a roland) says that korgs are good and easy to use :D

  • nice piano but i dont like the drum kit

  • You got that right bro!!! I still use my Yamaha DX 11 AND MY YAMHA V50!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FUCK T ROBOTIC SHITHIS NEW CRAP

  • damn... quality in that guitar was superb... makes me want one just for that lol... nice piano over all.

  • me too ^^

  • i want!

  • Hey, how can I turn ON/OFF the velocity switch like at 1:10 on the guitars?? I can't find how in the manual!!

  • Sorry, I FOUND IT! And all the sounds sound 100000x better!! THAT'S INCREDIBLE!

  • how i havent found it either!

  • Edit-> Menu -> KBD/CTRL (press F2) -> then there is the key velocity from 1 to 127, but if you go less then 1, "REAL" with appear. go on "real". -> put the "Key sens" to low -> "Write" AND YOU GOT IT!!!! every sounds will sounds like >9000 times better, ENJOY!
