  • Love Billie -3

  • She looked kind of upset at the end of it, you never hear her talk of her anorexia or her past I'm guessing that was why?

  • I like her a lot. What an intelligent woman.

  • that's really sad that she was anorexic back then. It seems like that whole time when she sang wasn't very good for her. :(

  • @bassrocks9 yep, good job shes moved onto better things like acting parts that are written by people who traffik girls to uk from eastern europe.Go Billy. Get lots of bloodstained lolly.

  • I really like the fact that she admits her faults. A lot of actresses wants to be perfect or really stand out. I love the way she`s doesn`t hid behind a curtain of lie. She`s always so honest.

  • @nlei11 That's something I've always loved about Billie. In her acting too. With Rose she wasn't she played it very emotionaly without worrying about "oh is my mascera going to run" I have a lot of respect for her.

  • i wish her and david could be together.... loves xxx

  • @gobackin Haha but her husband is adorable!

He's on Inspector Lewis which they show on PBS Masterpiece Theatre!!

  • She's lovely.

  • It's nice she can talk about not liking to be famous becuase shecame off like a real person instead of just a self promoter. She wasn't mean about it.

  • Parky needs to learn when to shut up.

GO BILLIE, you were totally fantastic!

  • people know her here... although not many know

  • She is so beautiful and so well spoken! I can't believe how eloquent she is and she's only 25...

    She really is amazing!

It's heartbreaking how sad she looks in the end...fame really is a strange thing...the way it takes a hold of us, actors and audience alike.

  • I think her honesty is really refreshing!!

  • I think shes amazing but parky should have sensed when she was stating to feel uncomfortable and let up a bit on the food questions. Having been there myself i find that discussing it makes it more of a reality and stirs up new emotions. He is a good interviewer but he never experienced that so couldnt really tune into her responses.

  • i agree, he should have known when to stop, but i really respect her to have the courage to talk about her experiances and give an insight to what it was like because it does show teenagers alot of truth and people that dont understand it shows them what we go through.

  • It really breaks my heart at the end, when she's just been going on about hating fame and then the audience applauds and stuff - she looks so uncomfortable and really sad. She's amazingly beautiful and such a good actress, I hope things are going really well for her, LF and her baby!

  • I think she looked uncomfortable at the end cos of the wild applause- she had just finished saying she was uncomfortable with the fame thing.

  • even though it is obvious it is still painful for Billie to talk about this, it is really admirable that she does. I just hope that the young girls who have similar problems watch this, and see that there is a way out.

and i firmly believe that, that is why Billie will talk about it.

You are an amazing person Billie Piper.

  • She looks so sad at the end... I just want to give her a hug.

  • love her too....but she looked so unhappy at the end. she cudnt look at the audience.

  • ppl do know her in america, theres loads of ppl here who've seen her on doctor who, tho we hardly go out so.....

    love billie

  • I think she meant she's not as famous in America as she is in Britain.

  • aye

  • love her

  • Wow she looked really unconfortable at the end there but kept answering questions as well as she could. She seems like a genuinely cool person.

  • OMG i love her... lol why does he keep asking her about her anorexia? anyways... she's the best no matter and i love what she says at the end... she likes not being noticed and she just purely loves acting... she's really one of my favourite people!!

  • He kept bringing up the anorexia to help the public make the connection between damaged girls in childhood and women who work for sex criminals generally. Sex traffickers understand the psyche of such abused women as adults and then put the pressure on them to work for them..parky didnt want to be collaborating with the fooling of the public that piper was just a regular girl, or that SDCG was just a regular production, he did the best he could to point to her being sick within libel laws

  • Interesting hypothesis...Hadn't thought of that...he did go on about it...

  • Billie should have told him to Step Off Grampaw

she looked like she wanted to cry at the end

I loved season one of diary i want a second season she needs to end up with the main dude or something

  • As a singer she was very very ordinary. As an actor she's brilliant. I think she knows this too.

  • The interview was meant to be about SDCG, instead Parky asks 90% about her anorexia and 10% about the actual show. Poor job Parky I'm really disappointed in you.

  • No, don't be hard on Parky. A really good interviewer can bring out the personal stories from an artist. Every interview that Billie would be doing will be the same old answers about the new show. He was successful in getting something unique and different from her. Bravo.

  • he probably didnt want to advertise the people trafficking project...also hes from Yorkshire, and the victim of the story was an orphan from Yorkshire.....

    Love you Parky .

    You are a good man

  • He's not particularly tactful is he... Asking so much stuff about anorexia. She handles is admirably, but still...

  • yeah I agree.. she looks kinda uncomfortable at the end. I guess it must be hard even now for her. I saw in an interview she used to eat tissue paper just to control the hunger pangs-poor girl. She's become so much more than just a teen pop star. I really love Billie and I hope she stays happy for the rest of her life

  • I know right? I only watch Doctor Who for her!!!

    Man that last episode... *sighs*

    Boy did I cry :P

  • i lvoe billie and im aware or he i have one of her cds and im from america

  • Because of the fine folks that host one of the greatest tv torrent download sites I became aware of this gem from the new Dr. Who in the USA before the Sci Fi channel started showing it a season later.

    Sigh...

  • Thanks for posting this interview. I'd only been vaguely aware of Billie Piper until now but am now thinking she might really be someone.

  • Billie piper has such abeautiful soul that shine through like a brilliant diamond

  • she was anorexic when she was singing back in the 1990's she has over come it now so no she was not anorexic in doctor who

  • I'm quoting my own post:

    -------------------------------

"The biggest single shock to me when I broke up with Chris was how quickly I fell back into the same terrible pattern of starvation and wild nights out."

"About a month after we split up I stopped eating"

^^Both are direct quotes from the book.

    -----------------------

By her own admission, she was, and as she says in this interview: It never completely goes away.

  • This is really great loads of times I've felt really depressed about my body and listenin to her explain what anorexia can do to you has been a real eye opener. I read her book and it was excellent.

  • yeah being depressed about ur body is one thing dont ever take steps beyond, lack of eating and excessive exercise becomes an obsession very quickly its right what she said its amazing the willpower you can have and it only gets stronger the more you do it, feels great at the time like complete control & ur beating the system or something, well it did for me anyway but it takes over ur life and completely wrecks it u can overcome anorexia physiologically but it never really goes away in ur head.

  • Wow - what a nice girl!

  • fantastic thanks

  • I adore Billie. I love that she talks so open and doesn't mind sharing what she has been through!

  • MAN...that was sooo very enlightening...ive never understood anorexia, or like how people could do that to themselves but she really explained it in a rational way of it really being a psychological problem, its not a media thing its a control thing. I really like how she understands it and can do it justice in explanation, because so often people are trashed because they have the problem adn that only makes it worse.

  • she looked great in secret diary

    hope shes not ana anymore

she looks fine as she is

  • Aw. Bless her.

  • shes so luvly i realy respect her

  • is she anerexic?

  • She was from around 1999-2000 and for a few months during filming of the second block of Doctor Who in 2004, when she broke up with Chris Evans.

  • Perhaps the term 'Anorexic' does go a bit far, but if you read the part where she breaks up with Chris, she says she sort of fell back into old habits -

"The biggest single shock to me when I broke up with Chris was how quickly I fell back into the same terrible pattern of starvation and wild nights out." "About a month after we split up I stopped eating"

^^Both are direct quotes from the book.

  • @Mietar

but even when she was singing, she didn't look realy starve. you know, most anerexics, you can see it. so she probably wasn't eating properly, but wasn't anerexic. that would be a lot more extreme. and definitely during Doctor Who, she wasn't anerexic, you could see it. i'm not denying there may have been a time when she wasn't fully eating properly. i don't know about that, so i won't say much on it, but just from what i could see, she wasn't quite anorexic you know.

  • @stad97 There's a lot more to anorexia nervosa than whether or not a person 'looks starved', hun. It is defined as "A disorder characterized by fear of becoming fat and refusal of food, leading to debility and even death".

Just because she didn't LOOK stick thin doesn't mean the psychological issues were not present. Losing a lot of weight is a symptom of the disorder, NOT the disorder itself.

  • @Mietar

    ok, three things.

    first, i said probably.

second, please don't give long definitions.

third, please never call me hun ever again.

i wasn't saying you were definitely wrong, i was merely saying that i thought it may not have been quite anorexia. besides, i said most people.

  • @stad97 You also said 'definitely' in there, if you care to recall.

Long definitions? Seriously? That's about as basic as I could get it. :S

Look, I'm not attacking you either. I'm not even saying you're wrong. But the quotes she gives heavily suggest that she was behaving in a way that would fall under the catergory of Anorexia. As a pseudo addiction, it is as easy to relapse into those behaviour patterns as it is with any other addiction. I'd sooner judge by her words than your observations.

  • @Mietar

    yeah, for doctor who.

    yes, long definitions.

ya, never said you were attacking me.

  • @stad97 Yes, and Doctor Who is still a big part of what I'm talking about.

I... Really don't know what to say to that.

And I know you never said I was attacking you. I was just attempting to make sure that I wasn't perceived as being aggressive when such was not my intention.

  • @Mietar

look, never mind. point is, i don't know why you're even arguing or disagreeing or anything with me, because i have no idea what's happening any more, so we should just stop.

  • Billie Piper seems like a very put together girl. Addictions are extremely hard to cope with. Emotional food, and hijacking a life, I love the confident way she expresses what she has been through. And what a fantastic smile! Hooray for her! Best of luck to her.

  • Cheers, ta!

  • thanks for uploading!
