  • I miss this place...the beer store for kids!!!

  • back then soda pop was kids beer

  • good shit

  • Man I love PoP Shoppe

  • She bought a case of caffeine or crystal meth mix?

  • I miss The Pop Shoppe, it was the first soda I ever had. Canada has it, why don't we?!

  • @eclecticaffairs - 'Cause Canada rocks.

  • Wow, thats some Canadiana right there, cool to see they expanded into the states in the day.

  • My father was one of the original founders of The Pop Shoppe. After they sold the stores to VentureTech sales fell off. They lost the original idea of selling pop (soda) directly from the factory floor to reduce costs. Had they stuck to their original strengths, they might have survived. Recycling in 1970? I guess they were ahead of their time. After my dad sold his shares, he started 'Soda Pop City' in Atlanta but he quit when he thought he was having a coronary from trying to fight Coca Cola.

  • we had the pop shop in the the sf bay area....what a happier time back then.

  • used to go there as a kid late 70's.

  • in the beggining its soo funny when the girl talks lol

  • Okay, I think I've got this figured out. The Pop Shoppe was an export from Canada (where we call soft drinks "pop"). Here, they're trying to operate in a "soda" territory. So they call it "soda", and try to claim that "Pop" is the old man who runs the place.

    Riiiiiight.

  • LOL I was drinking a A Cola Pop Shoppe when I watched this

  • Youtube is amazing, or more the good people that post this stuff. This looks and sounds like Buffalo. That woman in the blazor I think was on either one of the news casts or commercials for Tops Friendly Markets.

  • Where was the pop shop located?

  • I remember a 1979 radio jingle for the Pop Shoppe that went:

"Casey is my name, soft drinks is my game...

It's a better way to buy (The Pop Shoppe) soft drinks."
