  • Why was that train upside-down?

  • @skippiperke20000 I can't tell you why it is upside down, but I can tell you where it is. It is in France, in the Charenet-Meritime in the town called Saintes. You will find it by the side of a roundabout on the rue Aristide Briand. Purely for decoration, it is going nowhere.

  • It is not the studio acoustic version, if thats what you mean

  • Is this the original of this song

  • Today is Tom Rush's 70th Birthday! He still performs and has a facebook page that you can check out & let him know you appreciate the songs he has performed that stay with you for a lifetime.

  • I first heard this tune done by a young guitarist in the lounge of my dorm at the University of New Hampshire, spring 1974. Loved it then and still love it now. This version is awesome.

  • @Thank you so much for posting this stuff where I can lost in the classics while applying it to the Rave.

  • Love Tom Rush's music. Thanks for sharing. Nadine

  • Thanks for the memories from someone who remembers Tom Rush, who created the main mood I lived in throughout the 70's. What lyrics, what melodies. We need songs like this today. Thanks, thanks, thanks.

  • Would've preferred harmonica to sax, any day. Clinton & Kenny G ruined it for me. ;-)

  • Does anybody know what album this version comes from???

  • @stevegrain

The original album was the "Tom Rush" album. It had most of his original great hits on it. There is a picture of the album cover on utube. Just search for Tom Rush

  • My dad never got his vinyl copy back after I "acquired" it :0) Gibson Street by Laura Nyro, Spirit, The Flock Tired of Waiting...

  • DonRodrigoHigo

Dat dubbelalbum heet Fill your head with Rock

    Piet van Caldenborgh

  • What a great song. In Spain appeared in a CBS-promotion double album together with The Spirit, The Flock, Johnny Winter, The Byrds, Chicago, Santana and many more by 1970. There is a good version in Roguer McGuinn first solo album.

  • @DonRodrigoHigo The sampler was 'Fill your head with rock' and Roger McGuinn wrote the jolly old thing so he should produce a good version wouldn't you think?

  • @17260lujon I think the McGuinn version is better than the others, perhaps is the rock sound instead of the soft-folk sound in Rush version. Of course, this is only my personal opinion. Greetings!

  • David Wiffren wrote this.

  • What a fine treasure to rediscover !

It is as lovely and poignant now as it was when

I first heard it in 1971. The album was a well worn companion ...

T y for gifting us . I too had searched for this forgotten tune after a line haunted me. Peace and contentment at last !

  • I heard this at a friends house 30+ years ago.I fell in love with the song and bought the album. This blew me away. The fact that it's live and so beautifully done along with the excellent steel and sax make this one a keeper.Thank you!

  • What a song! The best version is on the TOM RUSH album about 1970,this live version sounds as if it comes from Live at Symphony Hall, mabe an out take,if anybodt knows please tell us.

  • Thanks for your imput. It has haunted my memory for 35 years and only found it after a long search two weeks ago.

  • I heard this song on a cassette that someone gave me back in 1978. I have always wanted to know who this was. Thanks for this after 30 odd years of looking.
