This is one of the few Canto Opera CDs that i make sure i have in my collection. But seeing them in action is a totally different experience. I don't remember if my mother actually took me to see them at Lee's Theatre now gone too. I was too young and it was too long ago.

It is amazing how rich are the emotions in this song. First, she shows her determination to commit suicide, but double his commitment. But he responded with determination. Then she feels guilty for dragging him into this. But he explains his causes. Then she wishes she had a better choice and be thankful to him. Yet, he is still very romantic in this situation. And she also shows her love to him. Then they left everything behind. I think only 贈白馬王彪 can match this richness of emotions.
