People on the West Coast of N America were getting an average of about 5 hot particles a day through the month of April. Tokyo was getting about 10 hot particles a day. Not detectable with ordinary geiger counters. People of Japan: consider getting your car air filter checked for hot particles. It's a very expensive testing procedure.
The safe level is 0.07 hot particles a day. Five a day is considered an "extremely big" risk for cancer. [Info from Nuclear Engineering Dept, Berkeley].
