  • This siren is used by non emergency services that may have to be quick sometimes such as: gas emergency service, transport ambulances (like on the video), some security services... When a vehicle has this siren on you are not forced to give the way, but generally people do, this is just a siren to help this services to be a bit faster but its not an emergency siren

  • how is that supposed to get anyone out of the way?? perhaps in france they respect emergency vehicles, so its not necessary to have deafining sirens and massive amounts of lights in order to get people out of the way.

  • Private ambulance, they do not demand you clear the road, they ask you to. This is non-critical transport, e.g. from one hospital to another with a stable patient.

  • Is siren broken?

  • i dont mind the European hi-lo's and any other siren that you mostly hear there, but they dont really sound serious. personally i think american sirens like the manual ones sound more serious

  • @texas9ish at least for french sirens that's true. The ones we use in Germany are better than these, the martin horn (air pressured hi-lo) is as loud as the Q and has additional warning effect by tremolo tuning.),

btw. you can hear also a lot of wail/yelp sirens and airhorns in Europe, and even the Rumbler is used here (in Danmark and Germany, as well as the Q (e.g. in Poland, a kind of also in Germany).

(just look at my playlist "European sirens"

  • lol

  • Curious sound.

What siren (make and / or tone) is he using there?

  • To who ever thinks this siren funny. Then there for all sirens are funny!!

  • What a shit siren

  • No....France has individual siren tones for specific services. This one is for the SAMU. Basically ALS except they have an MD on board. Police and Fire/EMS (Sapeur Pompiers) have different tones each. Police even has different tones Gendarmerie & Police Nationale have diff. tones.

  • Grazy ??? lol I think it schould be Crazy :D

  • When I was on holiday in Toulon, France. I saw those cars too, with the same siren. I think this video has been captured in Toulon, because that street does look familiar to me.

  • And this siren is used for private, but this siren is not funny.

  • It's a Spanish siren.

  • grazy?

  • this siren isn't very used in france ;)

  • Ambulances in Smederevo, Serbia use this siren.

  • i like this one alot!

  • This siren is used by private ambulances that make patient transfers for instance, they are not EMS, they are only allowed to use this siren to make there way through traffic but they are no emergency vehicles whatsoever.

  • "We know theres been an accident but lets enjoy the ride anyway" Bill Bailey...

  • I'm no americain and this is only a funny FRENCH siren, what do u want?

  • @saitekboyx Its a speical 3 set tone only use while transporting a person from one hospital to another... They use this siren many because of noise pollution laws. you dont need really loud sirens that you can hear 500kms away while your just transporting as its not a emergency..

  • hey this is funny
