how is a movie made by a company "indie" I know this is a toon making fun of it but it was a little annoying to hear the term used wrong so much

I mean in a comedy people deliberately get things wrong but it usually is only said once as a joke while this entire skit is the same joke being put into a story.

I still laughed (a lot) and even while I'm writing now I'm chuckling, but I still think it's a little annoying for indie to mean "not by a studio" and made by a studio be the explanation here.
