I was an atheist and I tried to disprove the bible. What I discovered was that the bible was FULL of prophecy and EVERY single one has come true. Now I'm saved. If you're on the fence and you're not sure I challenge you to pick up the bible and try to disprove it. Also say a prayer asking Jesus to come into your heart if all this is true.
There is actually a scientific reason behind what people call near death experiences. as the brain starts to die you can begin to hallucinate. I don't think you can lose salvation, I could be wrong, help me find evidence in the bible that you can lose salvation, but that you shouldn't be lukewarm and keep backsliding because Jesus will say to those that they are neither hot nor cold, they are lukewarm, and then the will be spewed out of heaven and sadly be thrown into the lake of fire. Read Revelations 3:15 - 13:17, all those who claim to be "rich" and put their word before God's acting lukewarm will be cast into the lake of fire.

@jkallboys You're right. But it is entirely possible to think you are saved when you aren't. In fact I wouldn't be surprised to find that this is the case for most Christians. Jesus said that people will come to him and say that they preached Him, and drove out spirits in His name (meaning they thought themselves Christian) and he will say that He never knew them to depart from him into the fires of Hell.
I'm into this stuff every other time to help me be aware of severity of going there.
