  • @whotube88 Yea dude I hate it, but I figued out what it was. It was mostly form. When I would run for long periods of time I would get so tired that I would lose my running form. So what I did I rested untill I felt better. While running, I kept my form, my body squared, and I havent injured that area ever since. Hope this info helps you out! Good luck

  • i never know what to expect from comments on youtube videos. i look up running tips and everyone is talking about cats

  • Whackness involved

  • @PalerLaze same as my goal :) i started with 2 min runs 1 min walks now i am up to 15 min runing nonstop after a few months maybe 3 months..i hope to hit 30 min jogs :) i dont wish to run more than that hehe...but atm i always get stitches at 15 mins :(

  • @jasonwins7 two causes of stitches. eiva drinking too much fluid directly before a run or eating too heavily before a run, everyone is different me personally if i eat a large meal i cant even consider a run for at least 3 hours. take this into consideration

  • @jasonwins7 aha, i have to runk 5km today and tommorow and I haven't run in half a year... :(

  • @PalerLaze ooooo this sounds like a good idea! i think i will start! thankyou!!!

  • Everytime I do distance running I seem to have pain where my femur connects to my pelvis. Ive tried butterfly strecthing but I seem to always injur that area. What kinds of strecthes do you recomend? Or is it just a problem I have?

  • @gualberto Maybe it's just a running technique mistake...

  • @gualberto

i have the same problem, man! did you get through it? it's horrible.

  • I am not a runner I never do these weird stretches. Best way to stretch hamstrings is romanian deadlift. Quadriceps is full front squat. Forcing it to bend at high speed is bad. Joints are not made to be forced beyond normal range of motion. Maybe thats why endurance athletes have joint issues

  • Fact: Nazis were always about to go for a run

  • I don't believe this.

  • Thanks

  • I don't believe in it. You ever see a lion limber up before it takes down a gazelle? ;)

  • @Soernsen82 Lion is an animal, different body/muscle structure. Also, when they catch a gazelle, they do it like a team, one chases gazelle and tries to set its direction to another lion who's waiting in the grass. That's called an ambush, so, not a very good pick on animals.

  • @Schile23 LOL your so gullible. It was obviously a joke

  • @bmxismydrug17 ... You are obviously saying it was a joke because you don't have any arguments to defend your theory.

  • @Schile23 No because you can blatantly tell that his comment was a joke!

  • @Soernsen82 Welcome to zombieland! lol the thing is...Does a lion run for 40 minutes to an hour to take down a gazelle? Is our lifestyle similar to the lion's? Is our muscular structure similar? Well I don't think so. Limber up if you don't want to get injured!! Im talking totally from experience. If I had to sprint 1 minute to take down a gazelle I wouldn't warm up, but if I plan to keep doing it for a longer time, I better do.

  • @Soernsen82 Are you a lion ? :)

Lions are streching everytime they get up like most of the felines.. In fact, cats are famous for stretching..

  • @asm6ekyu Famous for stretching... /palm

  • @SpringrollSpecial yes, english is not my mother toungue.. it should have been "known" maybe.. Be a little tolerant, dude or prove me that you speak french better that i speak english.

  • @Soernsen82 Lions and other feline races are flexible . much more than humans , we can't sustain such activities like running without at least warming our muscles :)

  • @Soernsen82 says the guy that probably doesnt run much. we had a 1mile for school, i was racing my friend. i streatched before, he said it didnt matter it was only a mile. half way through my freind goes down with a sprained ankle... do the math.

  • lol, i dont think his dad would let him do that

  • Wow, some of you people are mentally screwed up. What's all the nastiness about Kazhopa. That's just plain sick. Why, why, why?

  • @KazHopa cause ur mom sent me here after a good hard long workout ;)

  • can everyone shut up about useless comments on the video! the point was to get some warm up tips, they were all great so great video ... jeesh

  • I'm confused... is he bald or does he have gray hair? (see 1:43)

  • thank you, the stretching before jogging or running was very helpful, it made sense

  • dishwasher soap commercial ? Really ? WTF !

  • 10th (300m) on youth athletics nationals.......so i guess i don't need to learn a "thing or two" from him....

  • @cesarcroc hmm last time i checked 10th place means you didn't win

  • are you running with those chicken legs??

  • How many minutes should you do these stretches for the warm up?

  • thanks

  • ooooow, well... nazi's were just stretching (0:57) my bad i thought they were just retarded

  • I've started to run since 5 months ago, now I beat many people, I can run more than 6 miles in 1 hour, but I was 230lb and I only loose 10lb ;_; running doesn't work

  • @GoogleSupport it works if you lift weights and you make it more difficult for yourself

  • @GoogleSupport it does work, but it makes you very hungry. Be honest, you are not losing weight because

    A. You're not running enough

    B. when you do run you overeat afterwords.

Don't hate me, I have the same problem! I just can't learn portion control.

  • @GoogleSupport

Exercise helps to reduce appetite and whilst exercising your not actually eating. But it does not burn a lot of energy unless you do high intensity for long periods of time. The most effective way to lose weight is to reduce the amount you eat. To rank importance exercise is 1/5 and eating is 4/5. Just keep eating less until you start losing weight. It will feel like you are starving yourself.....because you are. When you reach your ideal weight you can eat a litte more.

  • @Reginaldesq Amen!

  • i am 14, and today i ran 5.5 miles :) really good sport

  • i couldnt see anything because the text filled the page

  • @sarcastic456 LMFAO!!!!!! IKR?

  • @piperboy350 Lol you like that? It's ok I guess it's just a workout shirt. They make certain material for working out-breathable material.

  • This guy knows what he is talking about. Unlike a lot of other expert village teachers :P

  • this is for people who no nothing about anything

  • This is what we do in PE at school haha

  • But what about martial arts stretching? In class we always start with static stretching??

  • love the subtitles lol, but great tips

  • i thought it was helpful cause it didnt occur to me that static stretches suck for warming up...thanks

  • hey frnds.. help me plz.... can i do this before running? i ve muscle pain n my lower legs after running.. wat must i do to reduce it? i'm just a beginner..

  • do some stretching static or not whatever u think its best, then start tadaaaa!! u know when i was a fitness trainer i noticed that people who THINK they know because they did a study say this or say that, people get confused and if their not, some dude will come one day and say, what are u doing? dont u know that is wrong? whatever!! look at all the different sports dont make a big deal about something small..

  • I do agree, This is very stupid guys... Why show a video about not to static stretch,

and then in others to static stretch? better check yourselfs because this is stupid..

and why say that u cant relax your muscles? what if u do static stretch after a warm up and then just start slow with slow pase jogging before running faster? thats bad? And why when i was doing kung fu i started with alot of static stretching before we took off.. just keep the basics always with you, warm up 10,

  • My track coach says not to stretch but warm up.Research shows if you fully stretch, you can lose up to 18% of your ability.

  • great tips... thanks!!

  • Comment removed

  • oyur trach coach should have already tought u this

  • It's basically like walking through a winter storm, coming home and then trying to warm up your hands by putting them in hot water.

  • Hey Man, Thanks a lot 4 putting up this Video. I just started off running/jogging after a few years & at first my muscles would get cramped up & i didnt know what to do & my legs would hurt a lot at the end of the day. But after watching ur Video i release my muscles & i feels so great to run/jog without any pain & my practice is a lot more fun right now :)

    Thanks,

    Arshad

  • @arshsnm are you running every day? because if you do your pretty dumb. run 1 day take 1day off then run again.

my routine . monday - run , tuesday off, wendsday run, thursday off, friday run, saturday off , sunday off, and repeat. if your starting out run no longer then 20-30 minutes .. then gradually increase by week

  • @skandskate69

Hey thanks, i don't have a trainer or any guide so i'm kinda lost. Thanks 4 the advice though :)

  • @skandskate69 I run every day. I run between 12-30 miles per day. Am I dumb? Because it seems to work well for my ultra marathons.

  • @paugust No you're chuck norris

  • @QUICKDRAW0 Okay.

  • @paugust ah you dont get it

  • @QUICKDRAW0 I get it. I just figured people quit making Chuck Norris references in 2007. My bad.

  • are you kidding thats awesome im barely getting 5 miles

  • 12-30 miles per day you must be skinny as shit.

  • @maviowl Hmmm, not so much. 5'11", 165 pounds. I run ultra marathons, so I have to have a good muscular build too. If I quit lifting and eating as much as I do, I'd probably dwindle down to nothing.

  • wow man nice

  • ooooo ur such a badass huh

  • You got it, pal.

  • strange how he gave great advice throughout the clip but gave a poor example of a dynamic quad stretch. like he said, dynamic stretches should be used as part of your warm up and static stretches used at the end of your exercise.

  • i will be streaching this this guy tomarrow before i run thank les

  • starts well, gets worse. dont static stretch! go dynamic.FACT.

static is pointless and in some cases detrimental. whats the point of a moving quad stretch, seeing as the stretch reflex will stop an actual stretch occuring for around 10secs. just kick your ass instead.

dude is clearly not a USATF coach so should not be trying to give advice.

  • I'm caught up in the old static stretching

  • WHUT?!

  • the reason this video sucks is because it's by expertvillage... they always find a way to fuck everything up -_-...

  • @sarcastic456

okay sarcasm. this stuff reakky works.

  • @stickman2012

why can't i delete that first comment?

  • @sarcastic456

yea i know. this stuff really works. sarcasm in that comment. your youtube name says it all.

  • @sarcastic456 I thought expert village had some good videos. But I haven't seen that many. I've only seen the ones for singing and this one.

  • @sarcastic456

    Are you being sarcastic, sarcastic456?

  • Many people have zero knowledge of general fitness or how the body works so it might help someone who has never jogged before.

I do think that the trainer wasn't the best speaker though.

  • True, however, by not telling the truth about stretching for those with zero knowledge, they will hurt themselves much more than if they knew that static stretching before running was bad. By telling the honest truth of what will work and not work, people who have zero knowledge will be able to become fit and healthy faster and prevent injuries over the long run.

  • Any recommendations for non-static stretches before a workout/running? Another question, what is best: running first, or excessing (weights) the lower body first?

I've been running for a while already, but want to prevent injury in the long run! Thanks in advance

... if static stretching is not the best technique before running, why do people, schools, etc make such emphasize on it??? This video and many of the comments make a lot of sense!

  • i definitely agree. static stretching makes you weaker temporarily so you never want to do this before running.

  • @dareal14life no no no

  • well maybe some people dont actually know so SHUUTUP!! if YOU know how 2 do it, why the heck are you on this vid? and how do you know hes not a pro? are yoou a pro? i think you should think before you say.

  • r u serius static streching will actually fuck yu up?wat about balistc streching?

  • this video didnt show me how to do shit

  • you can do static stretching after the workouts. the are studies saying that static stretching reduces power output, which is due to the muscle losing it's rigidiness when striking the ground or engaged. if the muscle is stetched too much then power is reduced.

  • before workouts especiall sprinting, static stretching is not recommended and there is no proof of lack of static stretching causing injury. The key point that should be understood is that you need to warm your muscles through the warmup i.e. strides and drills. drills are dynamic stretches that focus on a certain aspect of your running form. this is the best way to get "warm" and to stretch the muscle appropriately.

  • what if you're an aspiring yogi and you're doing static stretches everyday?

  • haha lol...funny question to ask :)) [and kind of cleaver i may say]

  • Interesting concept. Thanks!

  • FIRST.
