I find your comment very intersting. May I ask why they say this about mundan?

Taking mundan is an old religious practice and symbolizes complete surrendering to God and to The Guru. Is is a sign of renunciation and initiation into the spiritual path. Mundan works also psychologically by cutting through attachments to our physical form and to various concepts we have about ourselves. Mundan takes away old vibrations which are stored in the hair and it uncovers the highest chakra on our head, allowing divine energy to enter our being.

For 8 years I had long hair and enjoyed it. Yet all things change.

Many times during the last 3 years I've contemplated cutting it all off. Just before leaving for India, I was a step away from shaving my head bald. Short hair is easier to care for and more comfortable in the warmer seasons. And changing to something new is always fun.

I have done this my whole young life until recently when I have felt the Creator leading me away from christianity, as defined as believing Christ is the way to salvation. Now my view is very much like that of Lincoln's view. I feel this is where my search for Truth has led me. Nevertheless, I respect all people's unique views and perspectives.
