  • Thanks, Neil.

  • @peebowl123 Toby Kieth ROCKS !!

  • Neikel your one burnt out ASShole !!

  • this is classic.great message and song.which is only as it should be.neil young is as hardcore as it gets.and still is one of the best singers

  • Comment removed

  • We should replace wars with assassinations. Just get rid of the root cause of the problem and we don't need wars anymore.

  • @mrffall But when you assassinate someone, you leave a gap in the power of that region which leads to instability and power struggles and consequently civil war, unrest, and conflict in general.

  • We got politicians who deceive

To never live in love and peace

Ethos and mores loaded with lead

Depleted uranium make sure they're dead

  • When we finally know if they were the good or the bad ones? I think i already know the answer, they was,are and will be both the good and the bad ones, this is couse they are just human beings...

  • "How long has this been going on?"

I'm sure most people remember when the "Wars," started, it was all about "my country," and how we need to defend ourselves.

70 to 80% of the people approved.

But like every war after WW11, it only took a year or just months for the doubt to creep in and then the numbers reversed.

Yeah, I believe we need to protect ourselves, but do we have to remain at war to do so? The more reasons we find for war, finally we'll have little reason to exist.

    Peace.

    Rock

  • When is Living With War part two coming out ?

    Hmm I wonder .

  • And now we are bombing Libya.

  • so when's the next protest to end this fucking war?

  • A: Absolutely nothinnnnnnnnnnnn, say it again ya'll!!!!!

  • It is good for the greedy materialist pigs that do not care about any one or the planet but only themselves.

  • damned adds sneek up on you .... scum

  • Getting older, seen too much, felt too much, waited for too long for people to just stop the bullshit and start trying to live again. I watch this video about once a year and every time I tear up, wake up and start again to do something to make others understand we have to stop killing each other. Peace.

  • god hisself could not of said it better

  • Neil Young is a good man.

  • war makes money 4 the oil people and kills the poor people. war turns our youth into animals, causes them to loose their minds...drives them to suicide and they return addicted...it's a sad state of affairs...who helps them when they return????from hell

  • @ElnaCopper wow dude, you speak the truth

  • Since when do so many condescending foreign assholes listen to Neil Young? And since when do us americans being the terrible awful people we are care about your silly opinions? Good song by the way. try listening to it sometime.

  • you american people complain about war but it's the USA that has the big interests from killing innocents, so stop complaining, get out on the roads and prevent your leaders from making war.

    PEACE

  • I've lived with war since I was a little girl. I'd love peace, but I wish people would see it's not as easy as blaming Obama, or whoever else. Sadly, when I got older, I realized that world peace is a nice idea but it could never be a reality and war is complicated. Still, I hope one day, there will be a little less killing. Unlike world peace, a little more understanding, and love is possible. With this being true, I don't understand why people can be so angry and hate each other so much.

  • @redroxemj its not complicated, stop getting involved in wars for oil and lies, bring the troops home now, mind our own business and stop thinking we can police the world

  • @redroxemj i love you, thats exactly how i view reality as well, we all go through life with our own version of how reality should be and how wrong and stupid others are for not seeing it the way we see it

  • War is good for those that rule your US of A.

  • @mikenelsonmikenelson High Five!

  • maybe a song for all you folk to listen to is from the beautiful Buffy Saint Marie (what's in a name)....titled "the Universal soldier" yes...she wrote that! dam Donovan made it a hit...and Buffy had to purchase her own copyrights for 25,000 bucks...and for that kinda dough back then (economy)......hey? a cup of coffee on Alvardo in L.A. cost you maybe 50 cent......p.s. Buffy is "Native American"....Donovan? dang...the Mayflower hit a rock!

  • scuse me...but blameing ..as is written by aka maurospacenkopf..four day's ago quote ÿou Americans"unquote........War..(bah humbug) IS a big bizzness...and the weapon industry who just gotta spend their bullets...(toSELL more heavy metal!) THEM...bosses/faces......we never see! and uh....Coming over on the Mayflower ship were many a loser, crook from Europe...abanned folks....which sailed first away from the furthest point of Europe..via Grand haven Rotterdam (capiesche) and then Plymouth .

  • If you Americans want stop he war, so stop to buy and use cars like stupids.

58.000 brother? How many lives do you think americans tooks?

  • well you can say you will love everyone and you want peace..but what happens when someone/something takes away what you love? war. thats the problem.

  • "The only thing evil needs to succeed is for good people to do nothing"

"It is better to fight for something then to live for nothing"

  • Oh get over yourself! War is the instrument of diplomacy and global influence. Women are valued less than livestock in Iraq and Afghanistan yet you sit in peace and security spouting platitudes of moral superiority. You should be ashamed of yourself.

  • @cctinc Yes I agree. Because obviously the best way to create a feeling of diplomacy, humanity and progressive feminism in our heathen brothers is to bomb the shit out of them and maim their family menbers, because obviously that's the quickest way to moral loveliness as proven by all the other succesful intervenionist wars which our beautiful 20th century has produced.

  • absolotly nothing...

  • It's 2010 and we're still living with war. We're still killing our fellow man, we just don't see it so much.

    Why?

  • i have never owned a rifle or sidearm since i came back home, thank god..and never will with his help..

  • @ktripl8362 top man be proud !!!!!

  • Would you kill 11 people for 10 Trillion dollars?

  • @Aggrevaine depends how well i knew the people

  • Here fuck the American's . They voted for the government who sends them to war . What about the poor Iraqis or Afghans ? They're the ones who are fighting for freedom.

  • @eireisthebest Americans do not ask for wars to be started, nor do we vote in people we think will "blow up lots of people" Americans are fucking busy carrying the weight of the country on their backs. going to work everyday. We have no time to worry about govt most days. This is why sneaky greedy fucks have steered everything into a garbage can. Because good people mind their OWN business while the sick fucks are setting up cameras to force everyone ELSE to be scrutinized and fined for

  • @Aggrevaine Well I haven't voted in your government and neither have those who's countries have been invaded by your countries army. So what your saying is that because american's are "busy" they don't have to be concerned with the way their government operates ?

  • @eireisthebest Of course not, But I wont lie: People have a hard time seeing the pedophile priest for what he is or the leg breaking thug police officers for what they are. It takes time and I think now more then ever people are waking up to what is happening. I assure you more Americans then ever before are going to the polls and learning just how fucked up things are.

  • @eireisthebest every little transgression. People are waking up. Honestly I think they revealed themselves 2 soon and we still have a chance. I hope.

  • If we spent half as much money on new energy sources as we did on warfare we would would have it sussed by next tuesday and one can argue that the war is worth fighting because of terrorist threat, if we got out of their countries and stopped robbing them they might just decide not to bomb us.

  • The war in Iraq has nothing to do with freedom or terrorism, it's all about money, conflict = money. Thesis, anti-thesis, synthesis

  • I love Neil and everything but this song is super cheesy and not up to his standard.

  • Looking for After the Garden! Anyone?

  • jonezy81 is a tool!!

  • Young might say that you're missing the point here. War is reality, even though we might all agree it's about greed, oil, and so on. And Canada has been involved, big time. Cold Lake cruise missile tests, anyone? At around 4 minutes here you'll see the Alberta training in action. There really hasn't been a Prime Minister who snubbed the U.S. with regularity since Trudeau...so Canada is more than involved in the war-making business. Whether we're bright enough to admit it is another thing.

  • Wtf singing for the wrong country, you think when neil young made this song he was thinking to put this video up, hell no some jackass use his song and edit a video of today's wars. So to say he's singing for the wrong country is fucking retatarted cause he had no idea some jackass like you was just gonna put up a video with his song in it.

Plus this song is actually sick

  • hey little fucker..respect neil...i tell you what's cheesy...that fucking retarded "tragically hip" video from woodstock 99 on your profile...dumbfuck

  • u.s. is not the only country who sent their troops to that war,fyi

  • @22erickS Your right, there were more countries that went to that war than the U.S but Canada, you know, the country Young is from, was very open in their opposition to the iraq war

  • @jonezy81 and yet he has lived here sense what 66 67? 65 maybe lol pretty sure he has been here a lot longer then most of us not to mention he has been here for America and each of her pointless wars

  • Really good song and album.

  • War sucks...

  • all because of money...i just wish money had never been invented

  • then what?

A medium of exchange is necessary.

  • ya true

  • A ) absolutly nothing

  • Q: War - What is it good for?

  • @su79nioj

absolutely nothing but pain and suffering

  • @su79nioj A= GOVERNMENT PROFIT

  • @su79nioj keep the number of people in rein, not to exceed...

  • @su79nioj so right i wish you peace kev uk

  • @su79nioj for those rich bastards pockets

  • @su79nioj oil, bragging rights, death.

  • @su79nioj absolutely nothin'

  • @su79nioj Man it's a heaven for thieves, pigs, assholes and other scam.

  • @su79nioj A: Absolutely nothing!! Good God y'all!

  • @su79nioj A: Nothing

  • @su79nioj

as Jackie Chan would say (or sing) ... ABSOLUTELY NOTHING

  • @su79nioj To prove whose religion/ideology is better, duh!

  • I am doing this song for my remembrance day seremony!!...i love it

  • Try to remember peace...

  • While the rest of US have become addle brained sheeple. Neil is on the Long Run. An inspired man.

  • Yes the entire rest of the US..oh wait only like %15 of the population support the war

  • Ennesima testimonianza di Young contro la guerra ed ennesimo disco da ricordare!

Un saluto agli amici di "attimi"

    Enrico

  • This whole album is beautifull. Neil is the only person makeing music with this kind and quality of message.

  • no one but no one has young's courage to openly protest.and he has been at it 40 years and still cares.

  • I love this song !!!!!!

  • 37 years later, I;m still living with War everyday.

Living with War in my heart and it my mind.

It took over 58,000 Brothers and what did it solve?

Now we have Afghanistan and Iraq.

How many more lives have to be lost, maimed and torn apart for in this case, the big Oil business interests?

I truly feel for those being sent overseas and thinking they're fighting for Democracy or Freedom.

This War is insane! It's killing thousands of Americans, maiming thousands & killing innocents.

    Peace

  • @OleoStrut71 The war has killed hundred of thousands Iraqis but that doesn´t counts?

  • @swobban FUCK NO IT DOESNT MATTER U FUCKING PIECE OF SHIT!!!!!! Look here before u get pissed, If I don't wanna get arrested for say crack possession, Then would it be a smart thing to hang out at a crack dealers house???? no because im going to be labeled a dealer as soon as they bust the door down!!! Now u tryn tell me the innocents of war don't know whos al-queida and who isnt????? Don't be that nieve!!

  • @MrGeltabs

Except Al Qaida was never in Iraq. Saddam's power would have been eroded by them, so he didn't tolerate them either. Of course, since the war, Al Qaida is there.

Iraq was was Bush Jr.s way of getting back at the guy who tried to kill his daddy, and make a buck at the same time.

  • @MrGeltabs Woah! Watch the language, aren't you Americans supposed to be Christians? What would god say about this. Who knows maybe he puts sends you to hell or something! ;-) No i don't believe everyone i Iraq knows who is al queida and who isn't. If everyone knew your cute little army would find out, anything else would be illogical. But on the other hand so is religion so that would probably not bother you...

  • @swobban Sorry buddy you are wrong again... I'm taking it u aren't very familiar with the united states and how we do things. Ok over hear we have a thing happening called the "War on Drugs" now the goal of this war is to rid the united states of Illegal drugs. Now in our inner cities / crime ridden area's. Black guys stand on the corner of the streets in groups of 3-4 or 6-8 all depending. Now when the police drive by you dont think they see whats going on???

  • @swobban They no damn well whats going on, its just that they can't act unless they get evidence of illegal activity. Now whether u want to be open minded or closed minded thats ur choice. but the fact is we (The US) is not wanted in Iraq, so its extremely difficult for the locals to give info for fear of retaliation by the heads of the war lords which is the same as the (Gang Leaders in the US) or look at Mexico's "War on Drugs" have you been following that and all the bloodshed??

  • @swobban The Mexican people cannot do anything, because if they submit a tip on the drug mafias they know the chance of them finding out who tipped the police off is very high and the consequences are much much worse. So yes I would say 75% percent of the Iraq population in some way or another new who was doing what, its just that their support went to their country men fighting us american "infedels" instead of tipping off local police. as far as christian??

  • @swobban Yes we used to be a christian nation, but now it is fading very quickly, We make mistakes and yes I was wrong for saying they needed to Die, I got excited, Its just that I feel like I'm more involved then you are when it comes to understanding how criminal elements work,. (Al-queida) & (Taliban) are nothing more than Gangs using religious reasons to further their own agendas. and they are drug dealers under disguise as freedom fighters!!

  • @MrGeltabs Yes i believe that you are right when it comes to drugs and i support The War on drugs. I also support The War On Terror. But it wasn't Iraq that attacked the U.S it was Al-qaida, they are the terrorists and they are most active in Afganistan, Pakistan and Soudi arabia. The reason for attacking Iraq was to bring down Saddam Hussein because Bush said that he had weapons of mass destruction, he did not. But u can ask yourself why the Iraqi would choose a tyrant leader before U.S troops

  • @swobban well only one answer. that tyrant was better than US troops. pretty simple dood, ppl want the same thing around the world. if they wanted to stay with the Tyrant its cuz it was easier with him lol. ask yourself how many innocent lives dided when the US came in, eaven before that how many died just with the bombings? i remember seeing it on tv live. its just horrible.

  • @srrdmalak My point exactly...

  • @swobban sorry didnt know it was that way you meant it srry

  • @OleoStrut71 Not just Americans man. Never forget the other soliders, especially us British who have been in the worst of Afghanistan so far. I lost my best freind in Helmand.

    Its not just about America.

  • @MKECBS1 dude dont forget every1 else, dont forget the ppl living in iraq alot more deaths there. and they didnt sign up for death, they just happened to be there.

sorry for your friend, but he did know this could happen one day. i hope no one would have to hold a gun in their hands and aim, maybe one day...

  • @srrdmalak That was my point in the first place. I said dont forget about the other soliders involved.

  • @MKECBS1 im saying dont forget the innocent involved, soldiers made a choice not the others

  • @srrdmalak well made point i wish for that !!!

  • @OleoStrut71 Thank You for your wisdom and truth. At every page of human history, the powwrs that be, backed by the falsehood of established

religion, lead the masses to fight their wars whilst their they reap the rewards. Please, please please, listen to Bob Dylans "With God on OUr Side" and just throw up whenever Bush appears on the screen.

  • To everybody involved in making this video & song, thank you.

Too bad Neil has had to sing about the same topic, for 40 years. :(

  • I'm living with the scene of the night-time traffic. The hussle and bussle. The privet automobiles: what so much of this is all about. I DARE everybody to ride a bicycle or take a bus once a MONTH or if you all ready do dare someone to do the same and make them dare someone else to do the same.

Or wait, better not, that will cause the ecconomy to collapse. carry on. Keep doing what your doing. In fact, drive more, or dare a motorist to do it for you.

  • Thanks Neil...and David, and Steve...and Graham!!!

  • Neil had/has balls. Unlike 95% of today's youth... And he was in the service... Without Neil, Jackson Browne, Todd Rundgren, Don Henley, Pink, Willie, Merle and Bruce, etc. we might be as ignorant, as today's youth? They have nothing. And likely never will, if they don't kill their TVs, video games and stop listening to ghetto nonsense. Read people! And get ready for the next (civil) war, against the corporate fascists, in D.C. We must be prepared to clean house, before becoming peacenics!

  • I think saying that today's youth is ignorant is a little bit ignorant and hypocritical. First of all, today's youth, statistically, has been the most politically involved and well informed than any other generation. Also, your generation has been grateful enough to bless us with great problems. I'm not sure which generation your from, but all of the generations before us have left us a great deal of problems, whether it be the $10 trillion in national debt or the environment that you've ruined

  • and continuing from my last comment, saying that we all listen to ghetto music and just play video games and watch tv is a huge stereotype. I could just as easily say all you did was smoke pot and do lsd and then sing music to solve all of your problems. Our generation isn't just a bunch of junkies, because we can't afford to be because of all of the problems that your generation(s) have left us. We have to be resourceful and innovative to solve them.

  • and yet again continuing from my last comment...

Your generation(s) have made strives in human rights, but our generation, even at a young age, is becoming very actively. Good going, you've managed to make yourself sound extremely ignorant.

  • take a well earned break

  • when you talk about war you really talk about peace, right???????????? All hail King George.

  • Great song. Very accurate, neccesary, and above all sad that we live in such ridiculous times. Life should be more fun than this. Bow your head in shame religion and the phoney, selfish junta.

  • Amen sassymeemaw.

Neil Young's done more for peace than anyones's ever likely to know. As wiskawind says 'Neil rocked in the 60's and he still kicks butt!' From a smiling Brit not yet too old to keep on rockin' in the free world. Go kick some more ass Neil. Whoot!!! See ya on the Cripple Creek ferry in the next life! YAY!!!

  • REST NOW MY SON...YOUR JOB IS DONE.WE WILL NEVER FORGET YOU OR OUR SOLDIERS and the SACRIFICE YOU ALL HAVE MADE.SSGT.Jimy Mac Malone KILLED IN IRAQ ,JUNE23,2007. Mama loves and misses you so very much.I'm PROUD TO BE AMERICAN...HOOAH

  • SouthernGuy, you are such a sheeple. I feel sorry for you; I bet you think Vick should get off too! Impeach Bush/Cheney! Neil rocked in the 60's and he still kicks butt! (smile)

  • The world is waiting for America to wake up from this bad dream. Individual rights and liberty are at stake and America sleeps. Neil Young isn't sleeping-he's back.

  • Everybody knows this war has achieved nothing but pain and misery and when the troops are finally out of that hell all that will have been achieved is a mess on humanity that will scar us all eternally..at least the guy's having a go at being a prayer for the rest of us who are still enjoying these meadows.

  • spaceword, isn't that the truth! Thousands of young innocent lives either snuffed away too young or maimed forever (not even mentioning the families). Surely, there is a God and some sort of karma/justice that will follow all those that put our young people in this type of situation.

  • If I was to think of an apt quote I would use a Neil Young line;Everybody knows this is Nowhere. As soon as they had Saddam they couldn't dispatch him quick enough. If they wanted to create a better world they should have shown compassion but no they had to throw the fat on the fire and now it's forever going to be exploding in everybodys faces for endless generations and nothing will have been achieved except senseless misery.

  • Okay Neil, I don't like the war either but I'm not gonna sit around in a meadow with singing some sentimental 60's cumbaya-ish horseshit to protest it. I'm beginning to think Neil had alzheimers and doesn't know what decade he's in. I want that five minutes of my life back.

  • So what are you doing to stop the war??? So what are you doing to get the five minutes of your life back?? Hmmm... maybe you should take a trip to Iraq. Me.. I am going to vote, then sit in a meadow and pray that our meadows are still here for our children.

  • Southern (white) guys will never get over Neil Young. The only kumbaya moment: "I take a holy vow to never kill again." Yeah - smart of you to slam him for this.

  • This is Neil's pathetic attempt to stay relevant. He looks like a haggard fuck with dementia who thinks he's sill in the 60's. Simple as that...

  • He's back in a time of great need. It's to bad he can't bring back the 60's, mind control was in it's infancy then-not so today. To me he looks like a hero.

  • Southernguy, even if Neil Young has alzheimer's, he's not running the country now, is he? On the other hand, let's look who is and put the accountability there. Heaven forbid.

  • Live and let live, SouthernGuy73

  • No, SouthernGuy73 you don't sit around in a meadow you just bitch about stupid shit. Get a life, dude.

  • Kumbaya, my lord, kumbaya...

  • How did you possibly waste 5 minutes of your life watching this? It's 2 minutes and 38 seconds long. Ah gess yuuu dident lurn whut numbers wuz in grayde scool.

  • I guess you are still waiting for your sheets to come back from the dry cleaner, too. Before the war can end, enough people have to be aware of the need to end it, and musicians like Neil Young, Bruce Springsteen, Kris Kristofferson, and Merle Haggard are out there making the right noise. Bring our people home NOW!

  • One of the best song ever!

  • It's sad that millions of lives are destroyed every year from war...even in this day in age with all the communication and understanding.

  • Thank You, unfortunately, heil bush is getting away with sending in 20,000 more troops. Damn him.

  • [L]

  • ok ok but....where is the "other people death total by month in iraq" during this fucking bumb war???

    ( but it's a GOOD message)

  • tanks

  • not to much, i like
