Dear "Creamy Dove" - I partially agree however, if you find it so offensive, then don't support the zoo by visiting; or going to their website. And... concern for what you teach your children??? Creamy Dove???...

Gee, the zoo even makes a profit off the elephants' poop. Of course in a few years they won't be able to when the elephants die from being kept locked up like prisoners all these years. I went to the zoo two weeks ago and they were locked up in the barn rocking back and forth. They looked pretty pathetic. It's too bad the zoo doesn't understand that keeping these animals in confinement is cruel. They should be roaming freely over vast natural areas, Very sad.

That's called smart business, & smart recycling. I agree animals look sad at the zoo, & should be in the wild but, usually, aren't they rescues anyway... that would not survive in the wild? If you're sooooo opposed, then why do you go?
The piece on poo is brilliant! My 3 yr old son & I were wondering, so we appreciate the footage. And it's done brilliantly!

These elephants are not rescues. They were taken from their mothers as babies and taken half a world away to put on display for peoples' entertainment. And it is no "rescue" to place elephants in living conditions that are completely unnatural for their species. They become aggressive and exhibit repetitive behaviors becaue the severe confinement drives them crazy. Is this really what we want to teach our kids? That it's okay to do this to them just for our pleasure? I think not.

Amazing acting. They seemed almost natural.
Very rare seeing that with child actors. Also, the poop king jokes, while lame by some standards, did manage to make me chuckle... :)
