@TheAltair4 Good question. Zombie (Actually called Zombi 2 or The Flesh Eaters in Italy), without a doubt, is the scariest. I can watch the others, but only in the daytime. The remakes aren't as scary, so I can pretty much take it. But Zombie? I did manage to find it on YouTube (You'll have to look it up under "Zombie-Legendado". It's the ONLY way to watch it COMPLETELY UNCUT, including a nude scene) and I FINALLY watched the whole thing, but not without getting creeped out all night. LOL!
@whatuswattingat lol. Yeah, it's a pretty intense movie so i can't blame you for that. The Return of the Living Dead really freaked me out when my mom took me to see it as a little kid back in 1985. The tar man zombie is still the scariest zombie of all time for me.
Ha! I had to laugh because I saw Zombie almost 20 years ago and it freaked me out too! It took a ton of courage to rent it from Netflix last week. I am a HUGE horror movie fan but once something scares you as a child, it sticks with you, man. : )
@iluvargento I did see "The Gates of Hell," and the regurgitation scene was just SCARY as HELL! Yes, there's something about watching horror movies in the dark when everyone is asleep, although I STILL can't watch the original "Night of The Living Dead" at night! Should try that soon, huh? LOL!
@iluvargento I love the old school stuff. I don't watch as much modern horror out there. There are some films out there that are good, but there are others that get a bit tired as they drag along. The "Final Destination" films was good for 2 movies, but after that? Boring. I hope to do some more comments on films soon. Glad that you liked it!
I love that movie because it scares me...My parents never would allow me to see horror movies I watched them anyway because they were forbidden...Thanks for sharing
@WeaponXXIV You're welcome. Just read this article about kids expecting to see "Megamind" and instead got the first few minutes of "Saw 3D!" Now imagine how fucked up THEY are right now!
Me, myself, got my local DVD store to bring it in, along with some other Fulci classics like 'City of the living Dead', 'The Beyond', and 'House By The Cemetary', and like you, I made the same mistake. Started at like Midnight watching all of them and freaked myself out... no sleep for a while!
@LadyAryun I could only watch "City of The Living Dead" once. Have yet to try to watch it again! LOL! The Beyond and House By The Cemetary are pretty cool, too.
Yes. She died 5 yrs ago on the 4th. My mom always took us to the movies every weekend. My fondest memories are of the drive-ins, where we would wear our pajamas and play at the playground before the movies. The posters were so cool back then (The poster for "Carrie" creeped me out ever since!). I was glad when I grew older that we could take mom to the movies. So I treasure these moments very much. Thank you for your wonderful comments.
If Zombie really scared you as much as you say it did, then good for you. The movie did what it was meant to do. You got to enjoy a scary movie to it's full potential, unlike most of the fans of it, who are more or less desensitized to violence completely.
This movie does not bother me. Now don't think im some freak. The only scary films to me is stuff that can actually happen.I am also film fanatic for zombie films to

Cool...Thankz, I love horror movies and i don't get scare, but i think this one might gross me out, lol. Do u have the link of 100 bravo scariest movie moment zombi?
Personally, it's a must have in your collection. You might want to catch some scenes of the movie on YouTube (Look under Zombi 2 for better results, since this is the actual name of the film. It was released in the states as Zombie, but you may get too many results).
zombies was pretty nasty, I didn't find romero's dead films scary though, i can watch.... one recent film that was terrifying was 'the descent'. that was horrible.
To this day, I haven't been able to watch Night of The Living Dead at night. Dawn of The Dead, I haven't watched in years. Funny, because I loved the film when it came out, but it's just too disturbing to me now. I don't watch as much horror as I used to because it gets too intense for me. I think that The 1st part of Grindhouse (Planet Terror) was the scariest shit I've seen in a long time (Although the faux trailer for Thanksgiving was pretty creepy!).
I love "Zombie". One of my favorite all time films. I grew up on horror films (my mom was a big horror fan) so I got used to them at an early age. Some movies that scared the shit out of me when I first saw them include "The Exorcist", "Evil Dead" and "Nightmare on Elm Street"
As an adult, I find these films entertaining but, as a child, they scared the bejesus out of me.
One film that STILL scares me to this day is "Night Of The Living Dead." The first film I can clearly remember seeing at a drive-in growing up. Can't watch it in the dark!
hehe; yeah when your young its the brain-eating part of zombies thats scary. But when your a bit older the horror is how quickly society collapses and how people end up screwing over eachother. (and the brain-eating :P)
Well, you have to consider one thing: many films made years ago were considered scary (Like Lugosi's Dracula, which made women faint. Think that does that today?). I was just a kid being scared shitless by zombies!

You mean City of the Living Dead ( aka Gates of Hell ) . City of the Dead is another even older film about witchcraft or something , from what i remember . awesome story! i have a copy of zombie on vhs that i got at a flea market for a dollar. the dubs on it were horrible.other than that...i though the movie was good. lucio fulci is awesome!
Yes he is. Right now, I'm TRYING to gather up my courage to watch "City of The Dead." I plan on watching it on my day off this week. I'll let you know how THAT goes!
im a zombie fan rite now, when i was like 10years old i was so scared,my dad had a vhs movie of a movie called the dead zone,i thought it was about zombies,i took the tape apart and i cut the film into peaces, lol, now dat im 16 i love zombie movies,, i own all of george A romero's movies, and lamberto bava's films demons and demons 2,but im over it now,
When I was young (I'm on the verge of 40 now), the rating system was fairly new, and there was no way of knowing what the film could possibly be like (unless you read a newspaper or word of mouth). So my mother often took us to the movies and being totally unaware how scary they could be (Like The Exorcist, Night of The Living Dead, and Zombie). By the way, LOVED Maximum Overdrive! The guy that got it with the soda machine? LOL!
If you can't sleep after a horror movie, it's done it's job. My first horror was Stephen Kings "Maximum Overdrive" uncut. Imagine being scared of everything mechanical for a week or two! I was 5 or 6 when I saw it, and had nightmares till about 14 to be honest. Fantasy things like Zombies don't bother me, but when trucks and cars and planes and electric knives all plot to kill all humans, that freaked me out!
When I was younger the only thing that disturbed me while watching these kind of movies was the question: "why the hell watch this garbage? it doesnt even scare me!" cause it kind of apeals to the pervert that lives within us. Anyway nowadays I have a censured version and I dont give a crap, cause its all about the atmosphere and the music. Not a big gore fan altough I like some horror
Haha! That's like me and this video game module I made.. Horror survival.. And then when I get bored on that I play Nosferatu: The Wrath of Malachi.. That game is the only thing that scared me like where I won't play it with the lights off XD
Nice video I am 12 years old and I have seen resident evil dawn of the dead braindead and shaun of the dead and I was scared to them all so hard times I am still dreaming about dawn of the dead and playing zombie games and I can't sleep
I'm glad that you liked the video. To be honest, the very first film that I clearly rememeber watching was the original Night of The Living Dead. To this day I can't watch it at night. I can watch it only in the day. So trust me when I say that you're not alone. Adults can be scared, too.
Nice video, I know how it is seeing a horror movie at a young age and remembering a certain scene that just totally messed with you. (For me it was one of the bad Children of the Corn sequels where one of the kids had his head scretched over a corn field. It was just so bizzare for me at that age...but that's another story... XD)
But yeah, the obscure popular Italian flicks get the award for most freaky scenes.
Well there is another Italian film done by the same director called Gates of Hell, which is even MORE graphic. And that's ANOTHER film that I haven't seen since it was first released!
Good insight at the very end. For some reason The Fly (Cronenberg`s version) didn´t bother me that much when I was a kid, but when I watched it in my 20s it made me feel veeery incomfortable.
Yeah, you were lucky to have a mother who took you to movies every week. Great review.

Your mother brought you to horror movies ?? Cool !

XD)
But yeah, the obscure popular Italian flicks get the award for most freaky scenes.
yahiko00 4 years ago
Well there is another Italian film done by the same director called Gates of Hell, which is even MORE graphic. And that's ANOTHER film that I haven't seen since it was first released!

Good post! You seem like such a cool girl. Watch Suspiria if you want a real fright put in you.
Nancyblue 4 years ago
I have seen Suspiria. And it is VERY VERY CREEPY! And I saw "Inferno" too. Can't wait for the 3rd chapter of the 3 Mothers!

Good insight at the very end. For some reason The Fly (Cronenberg`s version) didn´t bother me that much when I was a kid, but when I watched it in my 20s it made me feel veeery incomfortable.
