  • Yeah, you were lucky to have a mother who took you to movies every week. Great review.

  • @lemonite1 Thanks! I treasure each and every moment of it!

  • I SWORE that I'm gonna attempt to watch it on Halloween this year. Wish me luck! LOL!

  • @whatuswattingat Which do you think is the scariest? Zombie, Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead or Day of the Dead?

  • @TheAltair4 Good question. Zombie (Actually called Zombi 2 or The Flesh Eaters in Italy), without a doubt, is the scariest. I can watch the others, but only in the daytime. The remakes aren't as scary, so I can pretty much take it. But Zombie? I did manage to find it on YouTube (You'll have to look it up under "Zombie-Legendado". It's the ONLY way to watch it COMPLETELY UNCUT, including a nude scene) and I FINALLY watched the whole thing, but not without getting creeped out all night. LOL!

  • @whatuswattingat lol. Yeah, it's a pretty intense movie so i can't blame you for that. The Return of the Living Dead really freaked me out when my mom took me to see it as a little kid back in 1985. The tar man zombie is still the scariest zombie of all time for me.

  • @TheAltair4 BRAINSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! LOL! It's a worse bummer than NOTLD! LOL LOL!

  • Ha! I had to laugh because I saw Zombie almost 20 years ago and it freaked me out too! It took a ton of courage to rent it from Netflix last week. I am a HUGE horror movie fan but once something scares you as a child, it sticks with you, man. : )

  • @iluvargento I did see "The Gates of Hell," and the regurgitation scene was just SCARY as HELL! Yes, there's something about watching horror movies in the dark when everyone is asleep, although I STILL can't watch the original "Night of The Living Dead" at night! Should try that soon, huh? LOL!

  • @iluvargento I love the old school stuff. I don't watch as much modern horror out there. There are some films out there that are good, but there are others that get a bit tired as they drag along. The "Final Destination" films was good for 2 movies, but after that? Boring. I hope to do some more comments on films soon. Glad that you liked it!

  • I love that movie because it scares me...My parents never would allow me to see horror movies I watched them anyway because they were forbidden...Thanks for sharing

  • @WeaponXXIV You're welcome. Just read this article about kids expecting to see "Megamind" and instead got the first few minutes of "Saw 3D!" Now imagine how fucked up THEY are right now!

  • "my mom caused me to get the shit scared outta me" love your face when you say that line hahah good video il subscribe to ya i wanna see more! =)

  • @RomeroFanboy Will have at least 2 this weekend, so stay tuned!

  • well they don't call Fulci the "king of ocular mayhem" for nothing.

  • whoops, i learned the same lesson with watching diabolique in the dark!

  • I applaud your Mom! She sounded amazing!

Me, myself, got my local DVD store to bring it in, along with some other Fulci classics like 'City of the living Dead', 'The Beyond', and 'House By The Cemetary', and like you, I made the same mistake. Started at like Midnight watching all of them and freaked myself out... no sleep for a while!

  • @LadyAryun I could only watch "City of The Living Dead" once. Have yet to try to watch it again! LOL! The Beyond and House By The Cemetary are pretty cool, too.

  • Your mother must have been a very wonderful and exciting mother! Thank you for sharing this cool story.

  • Yes. She died 5 yrs ago on the 4th. My mom always took us to the movies every weekend. My fondest memories are of the drive-ins, where we would wear our pajamas and play at the playground before the movies. The posters were so cool back then (The poster for "Carrie" creeped me out ever since!). I was glad when I grew older that we could take mom to the movies. So I treasure these moments very much. Thank you for your wonderful comments.

  • ZOMBIE cast reunion Cinema Wasteland in Cleveland Ohio April 9th, 10th and 11th, 2010

  • Thanks for the info!

  • 2am, no lights. LOL.

  • cool story bro.

  • If Zombie really scared you as much as you say it did, then good for you. The movie did what it was meant to do. You got to enjoy a scary movie to it's full potential, unlike most of the fans of it, who are more or less desensitized to violence completely.

  • This movie does not bother me. Now don't think im some freak. The only scary films to me is stuff that can actually happen.I am also film fanatic for zombie films to

  • Naw, you're not a freak. Real life can be REALLY SCARY, can't it?

  • If that movie traumamtized you have per chance seen Cannibal Holocaust?

    That is pretty disturbing too.

I am about to watch Zombie tonight and tell you how I feel after watching it, your reaction really intriged me to watch it.

    Thanks!

    =]

  • Finally got around to watching that. VERY DISTURBING!

  • It is!

I think personally it was less disturbing after I found it was fake, but when I thought it was real it made me feel really uneasy.

But I have watched horror since I was five so I was pretty disenseitized to it.

  • that film was tight.

  • the younger i was, the more scared i'd be watching a horror movie. the first one i watched was IT when i was 5 years old. i could barely fall asleep that night, then i had a nightmare and woke up screaming and crying. now when i watch it, it's just silly but back then, it tramatized the shit outta me. lol

  • Wow. I was very impressed by what you said. So true.

  • About that pt u said things that dnt scare us when we're younger - phaps it's due to the factors as when we're older we began to understand darkness and human depravity did exist (newsreels r already proofs) - and that sum movies are pretty good in reflecting that issues...

I realised Lucio Fulci was an innovative horror director in his right - aft watching bits of The Beyond and Gates of Hell + read abt him.

  • i'm sorry you couldn't sleep that night =[

i hope you are able to get over your fears soon =]

  • Oh I'm pretty much over it. Still creeps me out (And I have the DVD of it now), but at least I can sleep with the lights out! LOL! Thanks for the comment.

  • Thanks for sharing. i didnt get to see it till this year. aside from all of its low budget music etc, i think it had some really iconic moments, especially for its time. I also like the zombie make up, despite it being just papier machet and terracotta. Think its quite effective.

  • Thanks for watching me, even if I scared you.

  • yeah Zombie is a cool movie

  • Just watched it again a few days ago. However, I never made it through the movie. I was...distracted. LOL! LOL! LOL!

  • Did you know that dawn of the dead the old one spawned to series the zombie movie ( dawn of the dead in was called zombi some wheres else and they made a whole new series so the movie zombie in the states was really called zombi 2 and there was a sequel to dawn of the dead called day of the dead. A interesting link between all the classic zombie movies

  • Yeah, theyre remaking a bunch of the old scary movies, like Halloween for example.

  • Zombie was not like Dawn of the Dead though, DOTD had zombies from disease, Zombie's zombies, were from voodoo.

  • ok did not put this on youtube so dont ask

  • ahhh yeah that steak thought the eye thing grossed me out too. it was SICK. when i first saw it, i freaked out. anything with eyes though bugs me so yeah

  • One movie that I remember watching when I was younger that scared the crap out of me was Signs, of cource, its not as scary now, but back then, every time I closed my eyes I could picture the Aliens face in front of me and I couldnt sleep, I feel kind of ashamed for admitting that, but what the heck, there will always be a movie that will scare someone!

  • That WAS creepy, wasn't it? Hope that his latest film will be just as creepy. His track record of late (The Village, The Lady in The Water)has been spotty.

  • The Village was pretty lame, I havent seen the Lady in the Water but yeah, Signs was insane, the creepiest part about it was that you never actually get to see the alien the way you would, its all in your head, thats what really messed me up.

  • Yessssssss!

  • Shamalan sucks, the Sixth Sense was ok at best, everything else is shitty.

  • same goes here zombie and night of the living dead,Dawn of the dead, and day of the dead don't scare. But keep in mind these film were made from the 70's threw 90's. But when the movie signs came out I was about 8 years old (now 13) that was the scariest movie I ever watched ( keep In mind I watched the movie at like 11pm at a farm a the time. I could not sleep for like 2 weeks!!! So yeah signs was a scary movie but no zombie movie could scare me though

  • well... this is what makes a horror film to a good horror film. this is what horror films are about. to freak the shit out of people... and this is entertainment.

  • I agree. If a horror film STILL freaks you out after this many years, then it's done it's job!

  • Cool...Thankz, I love horror movies and i don't get scare, but i think this one might gross me out, lol. Do u have the link of 100 bravo scariest movie moment zombi?

  • The link isn't there. And yes, it will gross you out!

  • Is it worth buyin?

  • Personally, it's a must have in your collection. You might want to catch some scenes of the movie on YouTube (Look under Zombi 2 for better results, since this is the actual name of the film. It was released in the states as Zombie, but you may get too many results).

  • Thanks for showing us the scean :(

  • I wish I could have shown it. Sorry!

    :(

  • One of my favorite horror films! Glad someone still loves this priceless gem.

  • My younger brother's won't even watch this! And they've seen a lot of nasty horror out there.

  • zombies was pretty nasty, I didn't find romero's dead films scary though, i can watch.... one recent film that was terrifying was 'the descent'. that was horrible.

  • To this day, I haven't been able to watch Night of The Living Dead at night. Dawn of The Dead, I haven't watched in years. Funny, because I loved the film when it came out, but it's just too disturbing to me now. I don't watch as much horror as I used to because it gets too intense for me. I think that The 1st part of Grindhouse (Planet Terror) was the scariest shit I've seen in a long time (Although the faux trailer for Thanksgiving was pretty creepy!).

  • Well I may have been proven wrong recently with scariest shit. Diary of The Dead and Mother of Tears have REALLY creeped me out!

  • I saw Zombie a few months ago. Didn't phase me. The last movie that really freaked me out was Requiem for a Dream. That one really shook me up.

  • That WAS creepy, wasn't it? Excellent movie.

  • Excellent, yes. But creepy isn't quite the word I'd use. More like devestating.

  • Yes it was. Watching them slowly destroy themselves was horrifying.

  • A lot more horrifying than zombies, psycho-killers, or any other Hollywood monsters.

  • Fulci's films are incredible and, to me, timeless in terms of creating some vomit-inducing visual macabre violence with a piss poor budget.

  • That's a good story, thanks for sharing.

I love "Zombie". One of my favorite all time films. I grew up on horror films (my mom was a big horror fan) so I got used to them at an early age. Some movies that scared the shit out of me when I first saw them include "The Exorcist", "Evil Dead" and "Nightmare on Elm Street"

As an adult, I find these films entertaining but, as a child, they scared the bejesus out of me.

  • One film that STILL scares me to this day is "Night Of The Living Dead." The first film I can clearly remember seeing at a drive-in growing up. Can't watch it in the dark!

  • hehe; yeah when your young its the brain-eating part of zombies thats scary. But when your a bit older the horror is how quickly society collapses and how people end up screwing over eachother. (and the brain-eating :P)

  • this film wasnt scary to me

  • Well, you have to consider one thing: many films made years ago were considered scary (Like Lugosi's Dracula, which made women faint. Think that does that today?). I was just a kid being scared shitless by zombies!

  • i would fuck a zombie up

  • you would "fuck up" a nonexistant form of life?

  • if it were existant i certainly would

  • technically they're not life forms though, they're dead :)

  • Great story! Thanks for sharing it. I loved Zombi because I'm a gore fiend, and made me feel uncomfortable just because the world was DOOMED!

  • Well, despite the thought that I thought I was cured of my fear of Zombie/Zombi 2, it happened. I had a nightmare about the REALLY SPOOKY zombie (The one that you see on the posters, screaming WE ARE GOING TO EAT YOU), and that I was the girl standing there watching it rise! You know how THAT turns out!

  • I feel you. I'm the same way with the Exorsist.

  • Have you've seen the expanded edition? Even a touch more creepy.

  • Yeah....I wasn't right after that either. LOL

  • Especially the way she came down the stairs.

  • ha my first mistake was watching it at 2 in the morning

  • What happened afterwards?

  • i just sat up the whole night...with my cat

  • I know how you feel. I've watched it 3 more times since then. STILL creeped out!

  • Shark scene my fav

  • thanks for sharing your story. not enough real story videos on youtube.

you sound like an awesome movie buddy. I'm male and I sat with the lights on for awhile after zombie.

a good short story, after watching Cujo, i made my German Shepard sleep outside for the night. :D

  • this is good, i mean, it was a good movie, i'm 15 and i just saw it and it is squirmish

  • Well there are still parts that disturb me, but not as much with repeated viewings.

  • This is a great video... Thanks for sharing that story with us... :)

  • You're welcome. By the way, I can watch it at night without any bad effects! I'M CURED!!!

  • I never seen this, but I saw the eye clip, pretty graphic!I love this type of horror.

  • I was shocked in the most pleasant of ways when i saw this film as a kid , 80s horror was and still is some of the best ever made . This didn't scare me , but it did unsettle me , i had a sense of dread for months after . I still watch this to this day , it's in my dvd collection . JV

  • I can understand the unsettling part (Particularly the "eye scene"). I even sat down this weekend and watched it again. Not as scared this time! LOL! STILL haven't watched City of The Dead yet. Courage!

  • You mean City of the Living Dead ( aka Gates of Hell ) . City of the Dead is another even older film about witchcraft or something , from what i remember . COTLD is one freaked out experience , i think it may be even more violent and disturbing , and creepy than anything Fulci has ever done , pure terror and brutal gore . JV

  • Oh yes! The part with the regurgitating girl! YUCK!!!!

  • awesome story! i have a copy of zombie on vhs that i got at a flea market for a dollar. the dubs on it were horrible.other than that...i though the movie was good. lucio fulci is awesome!

  • Yes he is. Right now, I'm TRYING to gather up my courage to watch "City of The Dead." I plan on watching it on my day off this week. I'll let you know how THAT goes!

  • lol...awesome!

  • im a zombie fan rite now, when i was like 10years old i was so scared,my dad had a vhs movie of a movie called the dead zone,i thought it was about zombies,i took the tape apart and i cut the film into peaces, lol, now dat im 16 i love zombie movies,, i own all of george A romero's movies, and lamberto bava's films demons and demons 2,but im over it now,

  • Your mother brought you to horror movies ?? Cool !

  • When I was young (I'm on the verge of 40 now), the rating system was fairly new, and there was no way of knowing what the film could possibly be like (unless you read a newspaper or word of mouth). So my mother often took us to the movies and being totally unaware how scary they could be (Like The Exorcist, Night of The Living Dead, and Zombie). By the way, LOVED Maximum Overdrive! The guy that got it with the soda machine? LOL!

  • If you can't sleep after a horror movie, it's done it's job. My first horror was Stephen Kings "Maximum Overdrive" uncut. Imagine being scared of everything mechanical for a week or two! I was 5 or 6 when I saw it, and had nightmares till about 14 to be honest. Fantasy things like Zombies don't bother me, but when trucks and cars and planes and electric knives all plot to kill all humans, that freaked me out!

  • even know you guys dont care the movie that scared the shit out of me was idle hand

  • It was a very creepy movie.

  • When I was younger the only thing that disturbed me while watching these kind of movies was the question: "why the hell watch this garbage? it doesnt even scare me!" cause it kind of apeals to the pervert that lives within us. Anyway nowadays I have a censured version and I dont give a crap, cause its all about the atmosphere and the music. Not a big gore fan altough I like some horror

  • I play zombie games too lolz with my lil cousins and brother and his friends

I pretend to be shot over and over and over again wiht a water gun but they keep missing my head =P

  • Haha! That's like me and this video game module I made.. Horror survival.. And then when I get bored on that I play Nosferatu: The Wrath of Malachi.. That game is the only thing that scared me like where I won't play it with the lights off XD

  • Nice video I am 12 years old and I have seen resident evil dawn of the dead braindead and shaun of the dead and I was scared to them all so hard times I am still dreaming about dawn of the dead and playing zombie games and I can't sleep

  • I'm glad that you liked the video. To be honest, the very first film that I clearly rememeber watching was the original Night of The Living Dead. To this day I can't watch it at night. I can watch it only in the day. So trust me when I say that you're not alone. Adults can be scared, too.

  • Nice video, I know how it is seeing a horror movie at a young age and remembering a certain scene that just totally messed with you. (For me it was one of the bad Children of the Corn sequels where one of the kids had his head scretched over a corn field. It was just so bizzare for me at that age...but that's another story... XD)

But yeah, the obscure popular Italian flicks get the award for most freaky scenes.

  • Well there is another Italian film done by the same director called Gates of Hell, which is even MORE graphic. And that's ANOTHER film that I haven't seen since it was first released!

  • Good post! You seem like such a cool girl. Watch Suspiria if you want a real fright put in you.

  • I have seen Suspiria. And it is VERY VERY CREEPY! And I saw "Inferno" too. Can't wait for the 3rd chapter of the 3 Mothers!

  • Good insight at the very end. For some reason The Fly (Cronenberg`s version) didn´t bother me that much when I was a kid, but when I watched it in my 20s it made me feel veeery incomfortable.
