  • Great recipe! There's a glitch at 4:05 in the video, do you add 1 1/2 tablespoons of just chili powder at that point? Thanks!

  • where can we get the fuzzy kicker seasoning at? is it still made? if not what can i use to substitute it with

  • @southpawdude Call 812 246 8200. Ask for Michelle. She will take care of you. Tell her I told you to call.

  • @BBQMyWay ...yum

  • Looks like you had fun making that:)

  • @acrow11 Just fixed it again last night for the football games. Delish.

  • I love your recipe; I really like it. So you won.

Thanks for sharing with me your tasty recipe.

  • @13SUSSIE You are welcome.

  • @M4x4m1ll10n Glad you liked it!

  • nice recipe but for those wanting to enter chili cook offs, the chili needs to be smooth meaning no beans! now if it's a small cook off where the grand prize is $10 to your piggly wiggly grocery store then its ok im sure :)

  • @gsarjos No cook off is "small."

  • @BBQMyWay I tried your recipe earlier for dinner, was pretty good but I used fresh spices

  • @gsarjos Fresh spices are always better...

  • @BBQMyWay Thats true, many people use spices that have been in the cupboard for years and really don't do anything for a recipe other then adding a stale taste. I will try your recipe at the next local cook-off and see what happens...

  • Very nice. I use beer and a bit of cocoa in my chili. Chocolate must add a sweet flavor. Thanks for some great ideas!

  • @AnotherAmateur Thanks for the kind comment!

  • I am sure the chocolate made you win

  • @harleensethi09 who knows for sure? I do know others have used this recipe and have won recently. Thanks for stopping by.

  • I like the HISTORY PART ALOT,,,its instresting to find out how chilli came to be with the history of it so cool

  • @Dolphindream15 Thank you. I am a history buff. I need to do that more often. Thanks for stopping by.

  • i just have to get over the mind set of adding chocolate to my chili once i get past that it looks great

  • @dragonflychainsaw I know. I was skeptical too, but it's worth trying.

  • sounds like something my boyfriend would make when hes stoned. he puts anything in it. and it does turn out looking like your chilly.

  • @leokitte Alrighty then....

  • nice i have my own quick and great chili bean recipe.

  • @MARK7777ADAN Cool...thanks for stopping by.

  • the chocolate is unexpected but it sounds like it would totally work thanks for that tip :P

  • @PlatypusGuitar It really does.

  • @PlatypusGuitar Yeah, next time we are going to try Mexican chocolate and see if that makes a difference.

  • Hi! I think this recipe looks really great and I would love to try it. Only problem is that here in Norway we don't have Fuzzy's kicker! Is this a spice blend? Can I make my own? Or can you suggest what to use instead?

  • Can u post the ingredients? I think the sound messed up in a couple of spots. Looks great!!

  • @shannonp5 You can get the recipe here. go to bbqmyway dot com. Go to "beef" and then "chili"

  • If it were just me eating, I would. Thanks for stopping by.

  • come on dude man up and leave in the seeds for real Mexican chili.

  • I made the chili tonight and it is WONDERFUL!!!! The very BEST chili ever!!!! Thank you so much for sharing your secret recipe.

  • @genglobe I'm glad you liked it! I'll pass on your thoughts to Liz...really it's her recipe.

  • I made the chili tonight and it is WONDERFUL!!!! The very BEST chili ever!!!! Thank you so much for sharing your secret recipe.

  • We have about a tablespoon and a half of.. CCCCHHHHH !!!!

  • yum!!!!!!

  • @gemsa1987 Are you going to try and make it?

  • I didnt think people competing or bragging about a good chili were supposed to use pre seasoned canned beans.

  • @jdssurf It is what it is.

  • What really adds a nice rich flavor is the BBQ pulled pork and chocolate, definitely makes it stand out compared to other chilis.

  • @jackburton2009 Hey Jack, I totally agree. Thanks for stopping by.

  • Not really, all alcohol in food never really 'all' cooks off.

  • @daFranch1se69 Trace amounts remain. We let the chili simmer for over 1.5 hours after adding the beer. According to this article on the subject, 85% of the alcohol would have cooked away. ochef.com.

  • @BBQMyWay

I have read about that myself, there is still remaining alcohol, that being said its not enough to make one drunk, but you cant really say ' ALL the alcohol burns out', more like 'Most of the alcohol burns out'.

  • @daFranch1se69 Point taken.

  • wtf was that?

  • @nextceaser Ummmm....Chili?

  • It looks good, but you couldn't enter it in a ICS or CASI cookoff (except as People's Choice). But I'm sure you know that. I'm going to try it and taste.

Do you use Gebhardt's Chili Powder?

  • @maxtcatt Correct. It's won some neighborhood cometitions against 30 or so other chilis.

  • It looks good, but you couldn't enter it in a ICS or CASI cookoff (except as People's Choice). But I'm sure you know that. I'm going to try it and taste.

  • It's not a secret recipie if you put a video on youtube telling people how to make it.

  • @jonty181 No duh. Thanks for stopping by.

  • @BBQMyWay Does look good though

  • It's just preference, but I always use diced and stewed tomatos, for different textures. I also put more then one color of beans, just for looks.

  • @alltoastnojelly That's what is great about chili. Everyone has their ownb unique twist.

  • Dammit, now I have to go downstairs and a few more ingredients! No prob though, I'm in the first hour, and I've got most of it.....including a dutch oven. I've got stuff you don't so nananananan. (good stuff I hope) Still, added to Fav's. I've done chocolate in enchilada sauce, but not chili. My wife might have some choc chips for cookies...I think I'll steal a few when she's not looking. Great vid.

  • @Mongrul Thanks! Let me know how your chili turns out!

  • What is Fuzzy's kicker?

  • @mickeyl01 You can get it at fuz.com.

  • did u really put chocolate in the chili?

  • @grrrindin Absolutely.

  • I didnt know i was going to get a chili history lesson as well as the recipe.

  • Comment removed

  • @2Legit2Acquit I hope that's a good thing?? I enjoy food history.

  • thanks for the recipe.. used it and modified it a little (Indian style) helped me win best chili award , so thanks again :)

  • @saravoxy Congrats!!!!

  • @saravoxy Let me know if you bring home the gold!!!!

  • Thank you for being honest by informing the public that chili was invented by the Mexican people, not Texans (tho they make some very variations!) You recipe is a must try and I thank you, again for posting it. I'm have the ingredients so I'm going to try it tonight. I LOVE chile but never tried to make it.

  • @sparkle11231 Thanks...let me know how it turns out!

  • @BBQMyWay -- It was absolutely delish!! Thank you so much for your recipe and your demonstration. It was one of the better ones for chili on YouTube......mmmm.

  • We made your chili recipe! Thanks for the quick response this morning via email. Of course, we have a few ideas to "make it our own" but I just wanted to post here that your recipe was really good! We also enjoyed the history lesson. Way to go and keep it up!

  • @Baldy764 Thanks for the kind words. It's no fun fixing chili unless you make it your own in some way.

  • I thought you would never stop talking, lol. I want to see some good chili. Everything looks so good, I have to try this recipe, thx.

  • he looks happier as a cartoon

  • Who does?

  • its so secret that its on youtube!?

  • It was secret till then.....thanks for stopping by.

  • i spanked it to his video. just letting you know.

  • Right On ! I'm a Texas boy born and bred and have been to Neimans but never knew about the chili place. (My opinion) best chili that I can remember having. Thanks for sharing

  • Thanks for posting and thanks for stopping by!

  • I WON FIRST PLACE!! Thank you for sharing this recipe. I did make a few modifications, though. I added 2 jalapenos and I didn't take the seeds out and I also added 4 chipotle peppers with adobo sauce along with some smoked paprika, to mimic the smokiness of the pork. I also roasted 2 large green peppers and chopped those up as well. I also used stewed Mexican style tomatoes and some fire-roasted tomatoes. Thanks again for the idea!!

  • Congrats!! I would love to take the credit, but it sounds as though your alterations and additions resulted is something difference from ours. Thanks for letting me know though!

  • No, you definitely get the credit! I would have never thought of putting smoked pork or chocolate in it. It was that "something different" that made it a winner. Try it with the chipotle peppers next time...it gives it quite a kick!

  • This chili looks amazing! I am entering it into a chili contest on this coming Friday and want to know...do you put the entire bar of Hershey's chocolate in the chili? I don't want to over-do it. Thanks!

  • No, just 1/4.

  • The colour doesn't look too good! Should be more red!

  • Add red food coloring if that is important. I go on taste!

  • I agree! Plus, it looks fine!!

  • @BBQMyWay now that was classy.

  • What was classy?

  • @BBQMyWay your reply to keefy28 about the red comment.

  • @BBQMyWay The video and the food Duh!

  • 2nd place. We were screwed I tell ya! Thanks for stopping by.

  • I couldn't sleep last night. You gotta tell me if you won. I promise i won't tell...

  • i like to use seeded habenero peppers

  • I like anything that adds some kick.

  • i cook mine the same as yours except i use key limes 1 lemon corn bell peppers and chipotle and original tabasco

please try and tell me what you think

  • I think your version would be very good. Have you entered it into any competitions?

  • not yet because i dont know of any in my area in Baltimore (in Maryland) but i made it last knight. it allways turns out better. oh and i forgot to add fresh cilantro to my additions. and for toppings i really like green onion sour cream guacamole salsa and maybe other things

  • Hey...I made this chili for work and everybody raved about it...loved the pulled pork in it...also use your beer brat recipe all the time in the summer. Good work!

  • Thanks for stopping by to report the chili success! That beer brat recipe does rock.

  • Excellent video. Great information. Looks good.

  • Glad you like it. Thanks for stopping by!

  • Good video mate. I love chili, you cannot get a good chili for love nor money in England. Glad you use chocolate, I put in high coco bitter chocolate in mine; it's so good to see cooks mixing it up in the kitche, good work.

  • Hey Joe, thanks for the compliment. Maybe you should consider starting your own chili parlor in England! Sounds like you might dominate the market!

  • Im going to try this chili,it seems awsome. But i recommend you try it the way my Mother makes it, make it a little more thick, dont put in the beer, and add a can of tomato paste, and 2 cans of sliced mushroom it makes for a mean chili anyways, your fan, Comptonandjuice.

  • Thanks! I may just give that a try!

  • History of Chili!! I love it!! Hell, I could eat Chili all day long!! I love it even thought it doesn't love me!! LOL How long can a big pot of Chili like that keep?? I personally don't know because at my house it doesn't last too long!! XD Thanks Dave for posting this GREAT VIDEO!!! :D

  • 2 of my tricks ... add the seasoning to the meat and let it absorb into the meat before adding all the other ingredients and liquid.

also most chili powder is generally cumin and red pepper. so I don't use chili powder , just cumin and my favorite ground peppers.

    looks good !

  • Thanks for the comments!!!

  • The historical content was very interesting. Very professional. Appreciated your wife's cooking style too particularly how she drained the fat off the meat.

  • I will definitely pass along your kind comments to her. The history portion of any food is interesting to me. Glad you appreciate it.

  • looks very weird and that is why i like it seems like the weird stuff always tastes the best

  • How does chili look weird? Oh well, all I can tell you is to try it. The recipe has won a number of chili contests.

  • I love your other videos, especially the bbq pizza, but this one looks gross!

  • Thanks for the feedback, but this chili is awesome.

  • I guess I shouldn't judge a book by it's cover. It just seemed like there were way to many spices and other ingredients in it. Although I would probably still like it, i haven't tasted too many chilis i hate ;)

  • I'm soooo gonna try to make this! SmileyD

  • Looks yummy! Your voice with your wife's hands scared me for a second though! LOL!

  • I didn't think of that. Did you think for a moment those were my hands?

  • Looks awesome!

  • We have been doing this recipe for over ten years now. It's really awesome.

  • Yum! Can i come for dinner? SmileyD

  • Anytime!!!
