I remember watching the TV 20 late movie one night. They were showing 'Running' with Michael Douglas and since it was after 10pm they allowed the profanity to stay in the film. This was when independent television meant independent.
I remember in my area Buffalo, a bunch of re-runs aired after season 4, the movie was then played over 5 days. The next monday they aired "ep.1" of the movie again. The next day transformers was pulled off the air, and wouldnt air again until the g2 eps.
OMG, 20 VISION!!! I used to LOVE that station name!!! Then, it became Paramount 20, later UPN 20, and now, My20, all of which didn't hold a candle to the old 20 Vision days, IMHO. Thanks for posting this!!!
Funny that the Transformers was on KTXH 20 and the Gobots was on KHTV 39.
I didn't live in Houston but I came there often to visit relatives and this is what I watched. KRIV 26 had Thundercats, Silverhawks, etc. KHTV had Robotech.
Who showed Voltron, KRIV or KHTV? I can't in my life recall which one did.
Yes, we Gen Xers had a great time in the 80s, I feel so sorry for the kids of the 90s and now.
H-town REPRESENT !! I remember seeing this CM ... & wondering why all the clips came from the movie, NOT the series (made me think the station was gonna show the movie, much like KRIV-26 split the G.I. JOE movie N2 5 daily eps) ... thx 4 this, & here's a toast to ThunderCats, SilverHawks, Voltron, He-Man, & all the other GOOD cartoons we rushed home from school to see!
To think that today's major networks don't cater to kids anymore (who gives a shite about Oprah?). Those of us who are Gen Xers were latch key kids back then, and the highlight of our day was coming home to watch Transformers, Thundercats and He-Man. I miss those days...
I'd forgotten how charming the adverts from locals TV stations could be. Those days are long over though.
I remember one from a Jacksonville station back in the day that featured a Burger King ALF puppet rapping about how much more awesome he was than the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, whose timeslot he was competing against.
I freakin hated fun house!!! I was so pissed they put that on for a season instead of Transformers. But then i remember the glorious day, when i saw the commercial saying "Back by popular demand, The Transformers", best thing that ever could have happened. If i ever see JD Roth, i'll kick him in his big nose!!!

I concur. I've lived in the Beaumont area all my life, but we got this station back in the day. We'd always watch the Astros on there...
