It's easier to play standing up with your guitar up high if you practice when sitting down mostly.

It's all about preference. When i first started learning guitar, I was taught to hold it (while sitting down) like a classical guitar. It's concidered 'good form'. This is obviously subjective to the person. Because I learned to hold it like that, I like having my guitar high enough so that the head is closer to my own nhead, and slanted at an angle. It's just pereference. So, yes, for me, it's easier then wearing it as low as the guys in KoRn.
