I think they wanted to give it a more classic or vintage look. Helps sets the tone of the video. It reminds me of classic black and white movies.

Agreed: the entire album is wonderful...there are other longer versions of this video on the net (as well as videos of other songs from the album: Quiet Fire, My One and Only Thrill, Our Love is Easy, Deep Within the Corners of My Mind...they're all amazing (and she wrote them all!)
