  • The color is beautiful, do you know the name of it?

  • @anointed01 sorry for the delay...its Ice Blue Metallic

  • Is the only difference between a standard strat and a reissue the headstock and pickups?

  • @Idratherbeflying89 No there is the paint and neck shape as well

  • That is a great color.

  • that strat must cost a fortune now, right?

  • @DonChristof187---I think its about $1500 new now.

  • @steveb334 i mean that your strat, which is an antique, must cost a fortune now. Either yes or no do not sell your guitar never my friend!

  • @DonChristof187 I have the blueprints to build this guitar :D

  • Nice vibrato ;)

  • It depends on the year as to where it was made. What year was this 62 R mfg'd?

  • someone needs to explain to me what this "57/62" pickups mean. Is there something special about those years? i had a strat with "57" pickups but is it any different than 57/62?

  • nice sounding strat , nice playing too

  • its american right?

  • Yes sir

  • wat kind of finish is on this guitar?

  • Ice Blue Metallic nitro lacquer

  • what exactly does Reissue mean?

Have they reissued the "exact" model from 1962, or is this more like a copy of a 1962 Strat?

  • its pretty much identical to 1962 specs. I do know that the clear base coat is most likely different but the top coats are nitrocellulos lacquer like they used to use

  • ok thanks.

one guy in new zealand is selling a second hand one for $3,000 NZD

  • That 62 RI sounds awesome, man. How does the neck feel, though? I'm used to a 9.5" neck, what's the 7.25" like?

  • Its a little more rounded and with small vintage frets some people might have trouble bending strings but if its set up right it plays unbelievable! Ty for listening.

  • Love that sound ! good luck with your singing !

  • nice tone!! I´ve got a 62 as well!!

  • how do you play that riff?

  • nice dude you have a really cool haunting blues sound rock on!

  • thanks alot bro I really appreciate it. Thanks for listening

  • Yeah great fucking tone! What effects are u using?

    -Peace

  • Great style blues

  • lol I happened to have The Wallflowers' "6th Avenue Heartache" playing when this video stared, and your playing fit PERFECTLY. It was creepy:S:D Anyway, MIA 60's Strat... I envy you:P:) Peace.

  • thanks alot brotha!! thanks for listening

  • 60's strats i think have a C-shape neck profile

    Dude your tone is awesome

    I think i want to get a black 62

Another awesome thing about the 62 RI is the body finish its NITRO finished that means it will age nicely and it allows the body wood to breathe more.

    again awesome TONE

  • Whats the deal with the neck of the 62 reissue?? I like the new model fenders, the neck feels very comfortable to me. I was thinking about getting this 62 because I like the way it sounds over the new models but I can't get my hands on one in a store. How does the neck of a 62 reissue differ from a new strat???

  • THe truss rod adjustment is at the heel of the neck rather than behind the nut, so you need to take the neck off to adjust it. Also, the frets are vitnage size, so they're shorter and smaller. A lot of people don't like vintage frets.

Also, I'm not sure about this one, but I also believe the back of the neck of a reissue is glossy whereas a standard stratocaster for instance is satin. The finish will also wear much faster on the reissue neck.

  • oh man, thank you.

finally, someone playing my exact type of music with the pickups i'm looking to buy.

  • Your welcome they are excellent pickups with great tone.

  • What color 62 reissue ....

  • i have a 62 stratocaster to but mine maxes out at the 21 fret :( lol still is awesome

  • wow hell of a tone!!!

  • thanks I appreciate u listening!

  • Hey i have a question. I bout one of those cheap 200 dollar Starcaster by fender guitars, the one that looks like a stratocaster, would it be a waste of money If i replaced the pickups with 57'/62' pickups and a vintage bridge/tremolo system that I got a hold of for real cheap, oh and also new tuners.

  • Hey save up another $100 and get one of the new squire classic vibes out there I have the 60's version now and its phenomenal. You don't have to change a thing. Thanks for watching

  • man....what a tone

  • I play this guitar to. Use Texas specials though.. A lovely guitar and a part of my life basicly. Wouldn't sell it for $100.000...

  • it looks like you're not playing for real

  • the video is out of sync

  • wasnt relly payin atention to waht u were doin. howd you get it in that color?

  • sorry bout that last one that was ma b

  • he is playing the same so we can hear the different pickups. you are actually mad that someone has nice equipment? im happy for him. Besides, music is about alot of things and material possessions isnt one of them. Id rather have jimmy page's skills and a epiphone than no skill and 59 les paul burst.

  • no offence but i guess u can't be that good if u can't even see what the guy is doing?

Please think twice before posting that crap^^

  • how much did one of those cost?

  • $1449 new I believe, but the '57 ones are $500-$1000 on Ebay, i guess the '62s should be about the same.

  • YOUR FACING IT

  • What?

  • Hes not, its out of sync and you cant spell

  • I'd buy it if it came with a maple fretboard, that's why I prefer the '57 model.

  • hmm.. never understood maple^^:P

i'd surely prefer rosewood. why u prefer maple?

  • Nice amp BTW, I have a '65 Deluxe Reverb reissue. The reason I prefer maple fretboards? Look at '50s Strats, it's really just cosmetic, but I really like the extremely glossed maple fretboard with black inlay dots.

  • Just remembered, the '62s and '57s have the same tone, in fact, they are the same except the '62 one has a C neck, while the '57 has a V neck.

  • hello. My english is not so good hehe, but please could you tell me whats the difference with the V-neck and a C-neck? thank you.

  • Well, it's mostly the shape of it. Some people, especially shredders find V necks to be uncomfortable, but I feel not much difference between the two. Try one, I didn't even know it was a V, I thought it was a C. BTW, I just got a 60s CS Strat, which is like yours, but made in Mexico but with cheaper parts, though it is awesome.

  • Some people don't know where exactly it's the shape itself... let's see... put ur guitar on the ground and look at the "arm", from the tuer to the body... that part should look like V or U, with the stringgs on top... lol i dont know if u could understand

  • yeah no doubt, i just got one, same color, it's probably the best strat you can buy for under 2 grand, love the vintage tuners, even though they arent real klusons, and the neckwood is ridiculous. This is one bad m.f.

  • Awesome strat I love the 1962 reissues. My best friend has one of these babies, and it sounds so sweet.

  • They are really the best strats fender makes IMHO. Thanks for listening.

  • +1.

  • na procima nõa esqueça de por o cabo da guitarra...

  • sweet. tube amp would bring out those singles.

  • classic 50 is all tube bro

  • I stand corrected Sir. Nice tone anyway.

  • thanks alot I appreciate it!!

  • sounds like some "Black magic woman" licks

  • Lookup Strat Vs Langcaster...Now guys we all know what a strat sounds like. The twang, the chuck, the honk, the quack all the great sounds. So we have a guy that I consider to have a video that is trying to sell his guitars by macking Strats sound their worst. Tell me if I am off base...comment on the video and let them know as Strat players if the "Thanks Mr. Fender" and strange EQ makes you want to buy one of their guitars. If so say it, if not...say it.

  • It dont really look like your playing the same song. Somethings not right.

  • I don't know how many times i can say this but there is a major delay from when i uploaded it to youtube.

  • You just can't beat a Strat for that bell-like ring they have. I like the riff you were playing--is that your own?

Nice guitar. I like the color.

I also have a Strat--a '57 Vintage (see my video!) and a Strat Plus (video coming soon)...not to mention the Bad Monkey.

I must say I would not have guess you were using anything. Very clean sound.

    Hang on to that guitar.

  • Steve nice Strat and nice playing. Is that one of the Made in Mexico '60s Classic Strats or American made?

  • thanks alot!! Its a US 1962 Reissue strat.

  • That color is sweet. Is that Ice Blue Metallic or Lake Placid blue or what?

  • I agree...its ice blue metallic

  • You've got the blues!

  • the guitar is plugged in with a gibsob les paul gold plug look at the first 4 secs of the video

  • his guitar isint even plugged in look closely

  • my god dude

  • at least in gayness you are.

  • jealous fool! i laugh at you adolesent diatribe! BAH! Fuck off and die, pleb!

  • Even if you did have a 54 original, you still fail. Having a particular guitar doesn't make you cool. It's how you play it and how you act. Being a douche doesn't make you cool. It makes you a douche.

  • i am so much cooler than you it makes my eyes water. so fuck off and die, you gay worthless cunt. end of conversation.

  • if hes a cunt, why do u have it in your name, so u can die, and while ur at it go jimi hendrix on ur piece of shit strat

  • what?! you must have downs syndrome. that made no sense. you can fuck off too, you retarded cunt.

  • now why the fuck would you make fun of mentally retarted, not funny dude, and just because you are worthless to everyone doesnt mean you have to be an asshole

  • chew my scrotum.

  • you'd have to have one first

  • i got three

  • ya, u keep telling yourself that

  • 54, huh? That is a sweet guitar! You're not in any way superior to any of us, and I dont really like you, but that is an awesome guitar.

  • well Im not really sure I know how to appropriately respond to that.

  • yep well i got a 79, heavy weighs a ton, from galaxy music, 10 years ago, was big bill morganfields guitar, thats mudy water.s son, i scalloped it, put on big frets and blackmore quarter pounder pickups, got a 91 american standard i scalloped, with red an a gold lace senser, also got a very twangy jimmy vaughn strat, great kinda srv, an steve gaines really spanky sound, aint crazy about the v neck, i sold a blackmore sig. strat man how nice the best neck ever.

  • nice ice blue metalic color

  • It sounds nice and you play very good.

    5 points

  • ok yeah i see yur plugged in bout how are u playing sum parts without plucking a string hmmmmmm someones faking

  • dude the video and audioare not synched up right. There was a problem when I uploaded it.

  • Great playing, I really like the '62 strat.

Does anyone know if the reissue tremolo will fit in a new mexican strat?

  • I do not believe so check out Callaham's stuff.

  • why is the guitar not plugged in, no lead in the input.

  • its there believe me. Its just dark.

  • ~Sounds great...~~

  • sweet, im a big fan of the 62 model.Love that sound.Killer tone!Keep rockin holmes!

  • I never saw the guitar pluged in this video... Fake guitar player... how much for that guitar?

  • watch the video at the very start... its plugged in dick face

  • nice tone, dont listen to anyone that leaves u coments like that i know that youtube messes with the timing when u upload vids....p.s that guitar is sick nasty

  • thanks alot I really appreciate it!

  • pretty nice especially with no amp..

  • no amp?!! I used a Peavey Classic 50 4x10.

  • You suck tutunci, he IS playing, the sound is just in delay, thats why, maybe because of the recorder. Hes not a moron, or a jerk, YOU ARE. Shut the fuck up, you dont know a thing hah!

  • so true

  • Is the guitar even plugged in? And the sound does not change when you switch between pickups...

  • the sound is not synched up thats y it looks weird and if you listen the tone does change.

  • cheater , you are just a moron .the fake strato thet you have got does not have that sounds!!!!moron

  • What?

  • Dude - Just accept you can't play as good. Thats one amazing sound, combined with the amp and overdrive you can get an impressive sound. The room acoustics making it even more juicier in this clip. Lovely tone and feeling to the playing!

  • hey man, that amp sounds great!

    yeah!

  • Sounds great. I want your guitar. Heh heh

  • Sounds good dude.

  • hey awesome clip. I was thinkin of buying these pickups cause I really love the Red Hot Chili Peppers sound, and John Frusciante (guitarist) plays a 62' strat. But I was wondering if you could post a video on the clean channel. Thanks a lot and awesome job.

  • how much of that tone is the amp and how much the pedal? is that the pedal onto the amp's clean channel on layered over he amp's overdrive? sounds good.

  • Its into the amp's clean channelw/ reverb and with slight overdrive from the bad monkey. I believe there is some natural acoustics you are hearing from the room. I am glad you liked it. Thanks for listening.

  • yeah it says in the description... no offense but if you know anything, you would know that its plugged in.

  • is your guitar plugged in?

  • huh?... yea into a peavey classic 50w 4x10

  • AHHH, sounds soo good, awesome tone

  • thanks alot brother!!

  • peavey classic series undoubtedly rulez, but the guitar ain't bad as well :-P

  • Oh man i'm so jealous, i have a 100 dollar no name shit guitar with the strings an inch from the fretboard, with cracks in the fretboard (had when i first got it) the sustain is so short that you have to pluck twice to get any long note out of it... Treat that baby good now you hear? Lol.

  • Daniel, it sounds like that guitar needs to be set-up.

Start with lowering the pickups. Thats is the greatest tone secret anyone can give. good luck and theanks for listening.

  • Very helpful video. Been playing bass most of my life. I just got a Strat as a gift from my wife. Wanted it for 30 years. You sound great.

  • Thanks alot!! I am really happy for you. You have a great wife lol. Which strat did she get you?

  • It's just a Standard Strat, you know, the one made in Mexico. I told her not to get any of the more expensive ones, after all, I'm just a bass player who noodles on guitar and it wouldn't be justified. She got exactly what I wanted: Black with white pick guard and rosewood fretboard. I think I'm going to get a black pick guard and all black knobs, pickup covers, etc., so it will sound blacker, of course.

  • I reckon you should get a pearl white pickguard! I love pearl! Going to get one on my White Mexican Strat someday maybe!!

  • nice delay!!!

  • Nice axe, gr8 tone and awesome vibrato there dude!!

  • thanks alot brother. This guitar is the best!!

  • Love the tone! What year is that guitar?

  • Thanks alot. Its a 2004 1962 reissue strat.

  • Great guitar, nice sound.Play some more for us!!

  • Great guitar !

  • thanks she's my pride and joy!!

  • sounds great and looks great too :)

  • Thanks so much I really appreciate it!!
