I felt a bit sorry for the chick getting owned by Allen but she deserved it, as a person who has smoked for years, I tried replacement, reduction and similar gimmicks but nothing worked, Allen's method got me off in a matter of hours. Even though these ASH people might mean well, in the long run they are not going to help by teaching wrong things. The only way to stop is by stopping and not by replacing or reducing, break the illusions and remember there was a life before smoking.

Yea the woman is really stupid. Using nicotine patches completely devoids the user of the happiness that he or she gets from the withdrawl. As weird as this sounds withdrawl is a constant reminder that smoking was bad for you and that your body is repairing itself.
From personal experience I can say that quitting and feeling the withdrawl was annoying but a good feeling. When my lungs started to repair/itch and make me cough I knew they were repairing themselves.

Watched his DVD last night...had a cigarette as advised and analysed what I was doing, how it tasted etc..put it out half way through, took my cigarettes and lighter threw them in the bin in disgust. It's easy to quit when you are faced with reality and stop deluding yourself and letting the drug be your master.

i read his book. i quit ten months ago and havent had a drag. i tried the patch maybe 3 times prior and that lasted all of a week. case in point. its the mental coming to grips with things and the joy of quitting. well done allan!

If you look closely, at the point he says "four times more powerful than nothing" you can see her whisper "will somebody for the love of god book me a fucking taxi out of this studio"... She's just a woman with a job, Allen was a man dedicated to helping the world stopping smoking. He's the truth and she's the industry - and the industry looks shamefully weak.

I quit using Allens method after reading his book. This man was an absolute genius. No pain, no guilt, no irritation. I actually enjoyed it (although I wouldn't start again just to get the kick out of stopping). Once you understand the principles, there is NO turning back. I couldn't believe 6 years ago I could stand in a room full of smokers and not even feel the slightest urge to light up! I went from smoking 30 a day to 0 in 3 hours and don't regret a minute. RIP Allen!

Anyone with a brain can see that Allen absolutely owns this sad woman. He knows that his system works as it is founded on good old common sense. This woman knows that the system she is representing, the NRT & willpower method, doesn't have anything on Allen's common sense approach. She can only state 'statistics' in her argument. Allen's 'statistics' kill her & his method knocks her argument stone dead. He knows it, she knows it, the presenters know it. Genius, the man is a legend! R.I.P Allen

I've watched a couple of interviews now where Allen has had to put his arguments up against someone else who advocates using NRT & willpower & in each & everyone the person he is arguing with is dumbfounded & left flustering as to what to say. I love the expressions on this womans face in this interview. She hasn't got a fucking clue! She knows damn well that Allen is talking sense & that she is talking statistical nonsense, just as all the others have in the other interviews. Allen is the man!

i smoked for 21 years, i quit 9 months ago after reading allen carrs book. i tried nrt and it did not work. to be free after a month and still have nicotine inside you seems crazy. thanks allen, where ever you are.

I read in Allen's final book Scandal that they will not advertize a stop smoking product unless you state either on the packaging or in the advert that 'stopping smoking requires will power'
As anyone who's quit using Alan's method knows this is one of the common platitudes that keeps people hooked. of course he refuses to advertize this way, hence you don't hear of easyway that much in the media.

i read his book. i quit ten months ago and havent had a drag. i tried the patch maybe 3 times prior and that lasted all of a week. case in point. its the mental coming to grips with things and the joy of quitting. well done allan!

why would the government want us to quit? imagine if no one smoked, imagine the money they would lose from all the taxes!! they make more money from cigarettes than they lose on the nhs for treating people with smoking related illnesses. I think NRT is absolute crap and if they really want to help people they should use the Allen Carr method..plus it won't cost the nhs nearly as much as what NRT does!

Good call thegrar..I bet this ASH lady has never smoked in her life and she is one of those pretentious people that Alan is talking about. Having smoking as much as he did, combined with the success rates of his programs lends much credibility to what he is saying that what she is saying. Allen Carr's method is fantastic. It totally changed my thinking towards smoking, took away the fear and made me accept that any withdrawl effects were actually benefiting my health. Good on you Allen, sorting that woman from ASH out. You can tell how nervous she looks.

I tried to quit smoking and used these nicotine patches. and i even tried the gums but believe me it didn´t help me at all. not all! i only wasted money. guys, believe me it will not help smokers to stop smoking. now im going to have a second attempt but this i will use only my brain to help me stop smoking. i will take good advices, too! from allen carr or to people who never smoke and hate cigarrette. and of course my own will to stop taking nicotine. this time i know i will succeed:-)
