  • Anyone who didn't skate should say nothing... If you didn't flip 6 stairs you haven't a clue.

    Matt Hensley is God

  • souvenir souvenir !!!!

  • this is a lot different then the copy I had ??? I remember Matt Hensley skating to Shoot to thrill by AC/DC with a lot more picnic table scenes... and none of the stuff at the end ...

  • the name of the 3rd song? at 4:40? thanks!

  • WTF toooooooo long video!!!!

  • how did 11 people dislike this? wtf is wrong with you people?

  • this as probably the most creative time in skating, especially street

even though i was born four years after this video part, this is the best way to skate. so much fun, no rules, just you and your imagination

  • where can I get this soundtrack from??

  • loved this, it was part of my youth, if you don't like it then you shouldn't be looking

  • The tricks were sketchy the filming was bad and the boards were huge.... Pure skateboarding. Changed it all.

  • @elvisidaltendencies Your ignorance is shocking to me.

  • What's the third song guys, starts about 4:29 through?

  • These were the days when you didnt have to do everything with a 360 flip or switch thrown in. Kids you dont need to go to skate camp or crap like that just get stoked and go skate. Helmet pads etc not needed, you dont get any good if you dont hurt some times.

  • The best skate video soundtrack ever!!! Makes me feel 14 again. I'm listening to these songs on my death bed.

  • Totally RAD !!! changed everything on the street ! im 35 now still RIPPING and work for a skate company who sell his boards !!RAD !

  • best vid eva

  • Who the hell would click dislike on this?!

Thanks for upping this video. Best time of my life.

  • So effing happy to find this up on youtube, always one of my favourite skate vids.

  • This made me wanna go outside and skate :)

  • this is the video that brought Op Ivy into the hearts and tape players of skaters around the world.

  • @ mywendal hey man it was one of those rare times in history where u don't know how good it was until it's past

  • Why is there so much Operation Ivy?

  • @TheTrainRex why not?

  • Startin' the 90s out right.

  • Thankyou :)

  • what is the song called like 3 minutes into the video where they show the chick skating?

  • @CheefaTheReefa69 I believe it's 'Bad Town' by Operation Ivy.

  • Super influential vid and time for skating. Seems like yesterday glad it was part of my life

  • @Sleepingplanet1 We were lucky to be a part of this era when skateboarding was still evolving. There's nowhere it can really go now, everything's been done already.

  • who ever sang this song i want 2 kill them as they wrecked it!

  • never mind... had to watch it all.

  • Someone tell me what song is playing during Carneys part. H-Street was the shit!

  • .. a part in a couple of days and call it done, no not these days, videos have to take a minimum of 2 to 3 years to come out bc every trick has to be precise and clean or else little tight pants Dakota wont buy his or hers pro board..fuck that shit, like i said money and technology and "skate fame" came at the ultimate price and thats something we will never get back, those times and just pure fun...unless that is a company comes along and just breaks all the rules...trust me, im on it.

  • @mokuni hmm yeah sure fella.Skating in this film was done in a run in both Street and Vert.Best runs clean or not so clean made it into the video.I never have seen precise RUNS.Every skater now is a sellout anyway!!!Even the oldskool skaters soldout!!!

  • @01mogwai well thats what i mean, everything has to be "bolts" or it cant make it onto the final edit, ive seen clips here on youtube, just random skateboarding, pros and ams alike, and they do the most awesome trick, and the first thing comes out of their mouths," god that was ugly, we cant use that" im like WTF!!!!!!!!!

  • this video, along with the other highly influential late 80's and early 90's street videos prove how fucking shitty skateboarding is now, yeah there are more skateboarder own companies now and there is good money and of course the skateboarding is cleaner and has been taken to new levels but it came with a hefty fucking price tag....fun. aaalllot of pros are just not having now these days, and its because where skateboarding has gone, the freedom is gone, the freedom to go out and just film

  • Elvis T. You're getting your videos mixed up. Ice-T was on the H-Street Next Generation video... I like Ice T, but great music???

  • @elvisidaltendencies hey, now. Operation Ivy is NOT garbage, I grew up listening to them.:P

  • Just brilliant. Now 37 and still skating. Too many good tricks and many good memories around this and the other videos of the 90's.

  • @ygh1973 Like the Blind Video.

  • @ygh1973 I'm 36 and still skate, hard to quit ,will all the new concrete parks.remember all the tickets ha

  • my youth....never could do the front foot impossible..tricks on here that people still don't do...shackle me not. hokus pokus.soldiers story. speed freaks. streets on fire blinds video days.. i am british but these vids fuelled my dreams and i still skate like i live in the 90's...

  • I remember that 1 footed cab 360 Matt Hensley did over the picnic bench like it was yesterday - it changed my perception not only of skating but of whats possible in life if you push yourself... Matt H is still my hero and that was 20 years ago!

  • shit i clicked on the wrong video, this isnt the new H-Street video

  • 9:10, personal note

  • Do you think these guys liked Operation Ivy? Where is Sal Barbier and is Matt Hensley on Blk Lbl still? GREAT vid.

  • i wish i was alive during this skateing period everything looks so clean and quick. it would be nice to see someone bring this style back

  • I wore this VHS out TWICE! Matt Hensley Was my GOD all through the 90's. H-Street was the only deck I would even consider riding in those days. Sure I had my share of Santa Cruz decks, but H-Street fit my feet better!

Man I wish the Hensley Kingsize deck would get remade again...

  • newschool as F

  • omg mike carrol sw fs push it lmao.

hes a legend, not as old school as guy mariano though!

  • @XtalGameVids

Carrol was in Shackle me not - Did Mariano even skate then?

  • @evorobin oh shit public domain was after wasnt it?

    your right,fooken!

  • @XtalGameVids

No Public domain was first I forgot Mariano was in that so I guess Guy is one video yr older ;p

  • is that sara jay in teh beginning?

  • thats awsome this video is old though

  • matt hensley!

  • They spelled Kostons name wrong. haha

  • fucking bad town! op iv :D

  • Check my vids for sk8 rock music and link to the mp3s of them and more!

(I'm not a spam bot, just sharing da love =)

  • can someone explain to me how H-street kicked the bucket with such an amazing team of skaters at the time?

  • @legodude666

    steve rocco

  • Mike T left to start Plan B and brought everyone that was a name to the World Industries family tree. Sheffey, Carroll, Way to Plan B. Koston to 101, Brian Lotti to Blind etc.

  • I got a h-street board, (big oldschool)

its realy good, despite the damages over the years, im gonna test it as soon the fucin snow is gone

    FUCK SNOW!!!!!!!!!

  • Op Ivy. fuck yeah. one of the best skate vids ever. I still remember every trick and song.. Wow. nice to see this.

  • Yep- that was about the year when skating really started getting super tech. Board styles changing and the year of the 360 kick flip. U were the man if u could stick one! lol

  • I think 1990/91 would be the most interesting years for skateboarding. Boards were just on the horizon of changing, it was just before the tiny wheel era. You had skaters hitting rails and flipping but the old school vibe was still there. There's a certain mystique about this era that makes me love these videos.

  • this is how skating shud be. the looks surfy and instantaneous.....today skating is cool but looks to mechanical and on point...which is how it had to turn out like that really...i wish it was 1990 living the dream !!!!

  • 1 green chukka and 1 black chukka. And Operation Ivy? Sick son.

  • Someone should post the original video with the Bad Religion soundtrack.

  • Such good memories. This was Jr High for me. That Sal Flip at 7:23 is soooo ill!!

  • if thats the mike carrol of today than hes really old

  • really old? dude hes like 36.

  • That's not old.

  • i didnt say he was old i said he was 36 which i do not consider old

  • @kidwithbraces

Thats him, but he's not even 40 yet. He was in his late teens during the H street/ Plan B era, thats why all the girls went ape shit for him.

  • @zoooyorker ok

  • cool

  • Man sick as fuck , i remember buying this video like it was yesterday

  • tunnell of love in san clemente,... does anybody remember footage of danny way jumping into the submarine ride at disneyland? what movie was it?

  • this video is gold ,i almost start crying, is like going to the strip club ,you can watch but you can't touch(skateboard like that). That was the good old days.

  • oldschool hard to belive that was 20 years ago almost.seemed like yesterday i miss skateboarding,to bad my knees and ankles cant hack it no more.and my balance sucks.

  • Indeed it does - and back then H-street videos were always worth the wait.

I simply love these old videos where every surface was used, no matter hiw rugged it was. And some of the H-street tricks are still insane, 20 years after :)

  • i owned this and i warped the tape.

  • yer matt!!!!!! the man is still king h-street was the best

  • fake ACDC back in black sucks hahaha

  • i kinda liked it.sub society and op ivy kicked my ass back in 90.love this video.

  • 2:50 why did they cut that out!!?!?!?!?! rofl

  • "One minute?" Hiny Cheeks then slap to the cement. I wonder if that woman is still alive.

  • haha probs.

this is one sick skate vid,i love it haha i weren't even born when this was made

  • Public Domain - 1988 and this video changed the scene and took boarding into the 90's

  • I remember in High School watching both those videos till my VCR broke

  • Very good skate vid.

  • Shackle me not changed my life...Im a ripe 31 now but this makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside like the gummy bears in Ferris Buellers day off.WOW

  • Hokus Pokus was the same for me, another 31er with dodgy knuckles and a lumpy knee.

  • @srfrr same,i live in uk and i skated from 89-99 fanaticaly.had shackle/hocus pocus and tbh that still set such i damn high standard.i never forget and still watch

  • good times

  • What's the song at like 4:46?

  • The answer is at 19:51

  • subsociety - squeeky wheels

  • fuck i have to go skate!

  • Does ANYONE HAVE THE PLAYLIST ? ? ? ?

  • whats the trick at 2.30? pressure flip?

  • 360 pressure buddy

  • yeah soundtrack is f'd. it sounds like one of the stereo channels was missing, then started some other music in the second scene where used to be bad religion. t everthing after that is alternate. too bad its more enjoyable the way it was.

  • .....ya i know, we were leavin hahaha

  • this stuff is so rad,

  • skating back then looked awesome!

  • i remember the ac /dc version. i like that one post it if u can.

  • I would

  • I agree, i got so stoked had to get the fuck out of the house and go skate!!

  • pure classic! thanks for posting

  • Sub Society play a lot of tunes in this video.

  • some body remember wich h street video is, where the cowboy junkies start the video with a live act?

  • Who sings the "isolator"?

  • great watch !! thanks for the post !

  • yeah, I had this when I was a teen and the soundtrack was different(better). I love opIvy, but it doesn't fit that well in parts. Hmm,bummer.Fun skating still.

  • no this is the soundtrack bud i bought it when it first came out on VHS. you might have gotten a redubbed dvd or something. but this is the soundtrack and it is pimp! dave bador haha

  • I also have an original copy on VHS (Aussie PAL version) and it definetily has AC/DC on the soundtrack and sounds heaps better then what is on this version

  • yesssss

  • man anyone know if theres a sound track to this stuff

  • powell was before h-street right ?

  • The Powell era was 79-89. H Street and "SMA World Industries" came to prominence in the late 80's. This video was H Street's peak. A lot of the stuff you see here, especially at the end is stuff done for the first time. "Useless Wooden Toys" (New Deal) is another important video like that from 90.

  • I have a question as you load a video that exceeds 10 minutes?

  • Anyone ever get the copy of this vid with the actual AC/DC music? I think it was rare and for H-ST only staff or something because of copyright crap. I had it but have no idear what happened to it..

  • strange....... i bought it when i was a kid , actually it was the first video i bought .

it had the acdc music .

  • You wouldn't still have this copy would ya??

  • I remember the demo version that you're talking about. It was only allowed to be played in skate/bike shops but wasn't for sale and was only about 15 minutes or so. It also ended with AC/DC's "Shoot to thrill" during the Matt Hensley segment. It got so much buzz that they used that footage and added more to make the "Not The New H-STREET Video". I'd love to get a copy of that also if anyone has it.

  • Yeah, the demo version had the actually Back in Black son in the intro. I remember that too.

  • I have a copy of this complete video and it has the original AC/DC soundtrack on it. It is a bit worn from playing it over and over again back in the day though. I'll see if I can somehow post the start of it up here.

  • i miss that years...

  • yeah, my first deck was a "5"th hand Matt Hensley King Size. Back when I started skating, it was all about Jason Lee, Matt Hensley, Ed Templeton and Salman Agah. What memories

  • Does Jason Lee still skate? I was on imdb and clicked Jason Lee thinknig he coincidently had the same name as the skater, and he was in a lot of TV and Movies... it shocked me

  • he doesnt skate professionally but he skates on his own time, when he has it. && i think hes co-managing stereo.

  • oh okay thanks

  • ahhhh, THE GOOD OLD DAYS, How much would you give to beable to go back to those days. I would give EVERYTHING i have and ever will have to go live those days again, Man were those the times or what, i was living in Sarasota FLorida at the time, all that mattered was were the trucks nice and lose and it was not wet out.

  • @homeimports sarasota fl?!! who is this?? that's where i'm from too and those good old days were the sheeeet!! i'd definitely go back and relive those times. nothing like a nice loong lipslide! brett

  • Hung Lieu does the fattest ollies!! Like many Asian skaters, he executes and lands his tricks with style!!

  • HAST DU HOGUS POKUS AUCH VON H-STREET?

  • Flogging Molly - Drunken Lullabies

    Matt Hensley's band.

  • Hell yeah. Sub Society, Op Ivy, and H-Street. It didn't get any better back then. Everyone had their influences but everyone loved Hensley, wallet chains, cut off cargos, give me those days forever.

  • OMG someone finally put this up thank you!!!!!! I love this vid watched it everyday. Matt Hensley was a god to me back then.I think I was in 11th grade. Ollie over a picknick table to nose manual(not his best feat by any means but still insane).Oh and it introduced me to OP Ivy!!!

  • its been up here for quite a while now lool

  • yeah i guess it has hahaha guess i always searched matt hensley instead of ....... well no when i bought this video it was known as h street bootleg and i think that was what i always searched for so yeah i'm retarded

  • Wow man I used to watch this video every day. H Street Rule. They where the days!! It brings back so many memorys, awesome. Oh man cool vid....

  • This is a sweet vid plus when my dad was a kid he knew matt hensly.

  • Thanks for putting this up. This still gets me stoked. Hensley is God!

  • i miss old school boards

  • 5/5 oldskool - such a influence:D

  • H-STREET FUCKING RULED

  • Damn straight

  • thats my dad

  • whats the second song called, right after the instrumental back in black? and als whats the song for that Hung Lieu dude

  • i should say for the first part of hung lieu

  • the second song is called Bad Town by Operation Ivy.

  • The tricks they did back then were so much more creative (the Almost team nowadays is an exception to the rest of the skateboard scene) and they had so much more board control (360° followed by a powerslide, wheelie, then a wallride, right after that a boardslide to 50/50...).

  • Word to that. Skating used to be about the complexity of the run as a whole. It wasn't so much about the height of the trick or the location. It was about making it look good, ya know?

  • whats the second song called

  • That bench Matt did the 360 ollie over was awesome. I used to skate there. I got there a little late to see it live.

  • Ah, operation ivy :)

  • Ist das Hocus Pocus?

  • When decks still had shape and rail guards, damn...I'm old

  • For real. This is right before the onslaught of the new shape. At the end of '91, the new shape was coming like an avalanche, gaining popularity like crazy n shit. I remember the transition came outta nowhere. Next thing I knew, wheels were tiny as f**k and decks looked like popsicles.

  • More like band -aids.

    matt hensley style rulez

  • I can't believe Barbier did that kickflip railslide almost 20 years ago :(

  • thats real skating. non of the representing shit, its just ppl skating to skate and have fun

  • amazing vid

  • Chad Vogt = Mr.Revert

  • wait thats not ac/dc its operation ivy

  • that is an ac/dc song but its not ac/dc playing it. its agent orange

  • Chad Vogt's Part is the best:)

  • DAMN IT THIS IS SICK!

  • question-who's the first tune by? this video makes me feel very old, but i've never been more stoked than the first time i watched this, and seeing it now brings back a host of top memories(from a long, long time ago!!)

  • AC/DC. Back in black.

  • first video i bought.......dude , thanks !!!!!
