I know that The Evil Dead on DVD, Thorn EMI Video did not distributed "The Evil Dead" on DVD. Instead, Anchor Bay Entertainment did it. I had a DVD copy at home.
The Evil Dead was released by Thorn EMI here in America. You must be talking about the Australian release. (I should know, I have a few American Thorn EMI tapes that list at least part of the catalog and am friend to AussieRoadshow.)
Ahh In the UK it was Palace Video, There's a documentry about how the aquired the film and how it got caught up in the video nasties scandal on the anchor bay dvd release. C
These are great trailers, thanks for posting. Do you have the "hold your breath for thirty seconds trailer"? It was on the vhs thorn emi release of "First Blood" and had clips of films such as "The Burning", "Death Ship" and "Amityville II". I'm dying to see that again!
Dude...you are my hero, because I thought NO ONE knew what that was. I am trying to rip it to DVD-R, and have this weird obsession with those ads at the end of old Thorn videos. I'm on this crazy search to have the music they play on there. I don't know why, but the opening Thorn logo, and those closing previews after certain movies...it's oddly soothing...must remind me of childhood or something!
The think I always liked about Thorn EMI is that they had 3 sets of previews at the end of the tape.

Nor could Thorn EMI could have released anything on DVD anyways. Thorn EMI was broken up in 1996, about a year before DVDs ever came out.

Taken from the first VHS print of "The Terminator", AVGN did a film review of that last month.

Do you have any tapes with the Also Available promo that lists quite a lot of Thorn EMI titles? Because I want to see it on YouTube.
