The screen is called "Mesh" the most commonly used screen mesh is 86, 110, and 156. And those numbers mean how many threads per square inch. Hope i helped =)
my local art supply store is hobby lobby ... they have the screen pre made but they are 30$ each .. I would much rather buy the screen in bulk yards then make my own .. esp since my hubby has lots of wood scraps in the garage that could easily be turned into nice frames ... and i could save money :) and make more
It would be nice, since you repeatedly mention buying online, for you to include links or at least the name of the product you say is so crucial.

Embroidery circles are ok for SMALL prints.
But you'r radther use a square frame
for full-size prints...
...it will allow you to use a squeegie to
apply the ink Evenly in a single pass and
get good coverage.
An embroidery circle is annoyingly limited,
and you'll end up wasting more ink than printing with it.
magengar 2 years ago
I learn this ten years ago, with a window screen. That's ok for beginners.
But, for a really professional screenprints you're better off using real silkscreen mesh such as what the guy shows above.

well if you were using stencils to screen print and not photo emulsion i don't see why not?
although there is a major possibility that it would destroy itself

what type of material is the screen? whats it called? thanks.
amx3607 3 years ago
The material is a nylon mesh. It comes in different "mesh" counts. 110 mesh is white in color and is typically used for tee shirts.
