  • Looks like it was recorded for Oxford Road Show (ORS)

  • 1:06 = Hong Kong Garden dancing

  • Bit like Gang of four, but better visually

  • Any other groups that featured two bass players?

  • It's from Oxford Road Show I think (I've been wrong before though).

  • It was great to see this: to my knowledge their only TV appearence.

  • this is great! the chorus bit really reminds me of 'Contract' by Gang of Four

  • Bit late to this, but it looks like Rock Goes to College to me (I'm getting on a bit).

  • the singers kinda sound like the singers from the raincoats.

  • Can you fix the title of this video? This ISN'T Top of the Pops!

  • MAN WOMAN EQUAL? Fuck off with your nonsense. The gals in Delta 5 are a bunch of sex kittens. The men aren't That's the way I like it.

  • @RogerHoare hey, why don't you fuck off with that noise, dude. It's cool to think certain folks are hot (and strongly encouraged!) but that doesn't make anyone any less equal, unless we make it so. how about I start callin' you sex kitten, you dirty slut?

  • listening to John Peel with giant head phones on listening to stuff like this. Im a lucky man.

  • increible!

  • MAN WOMAN EQUAL

  • I reckon this is from Old Grey Whistle Test? BTW Still got the 7" ... Anticipation really is so much better!

  • These girls are so AMAZING!

This is GIRL POWERE, KICK ASS.

    Fuck Spice Girls!

  • brother jbbutterfield says one of the most inovative british bands!

  • search Blame It On The Young by The Passion Killers and catch up with Alan Riggs pre Delta 5

  • I SIMPLY LOVE THIS BAND! I've got ALL their records!! ; P

  • can anyone upload their song ''journey''?

  • coooooooool

  • Heey,........I've learned something from this song........

    anticipation is so much better!!!!

  • @43447 Listen to Lewis Black describing the mental phenomenon of 'anticipation'. He nails it even better.

  • @spuffchops70 Ah,.. stand up comedy..........very nice!!

  • @43447 Yup. He's not consistently funny, but he defo has his moments!

  • "revisionary and naive" - you are such a hoot - and ought to chill a bit really, OK - its NOT TotPs but thanks nonwave1 for the post. Whilst i am here...Kelvin...(should you read this)...just discovered that you were in the Germs. I met Ossie way back and was there a year or so later when you told that upstart from U2 where to go. Happy days

  • you know it's not totp because they're actually playing live.

  • does anybody know where can you get the lyrics to their songs?

  • This isn't from Top of the Pops, and it's revisionary and naive to suggest that Delta V got anywhere near that level of commercial success.

  • But that 4 on the BBC icon must mean a 4x bigger audience!

  • SO awesome! Finally get to see how Delta 5 was live and in action. I was especially curious how the double bass thing worked out and the vocals. Now I know for sure that next to Viv Albertine, Bethan Peters (vocals, bass) is my total Post-Punk crush....wheet-whew!

  • @bennyshambles Yep, I'm with you there bro. Although I'd be happy to accept either of them as my post punk lefty student bride!

  • Intro sounds like the intro to Devo's 'Whip It', the drums bit.

  • Hey, don't get angry because my opinion differs from yours.

  • uh, this "version" is them playing the song live on tv. they're not trying to "fix" their song: they're PLAYING LIVE, which is what most band do, dumbass.

  • Yes top of the pops bands were better then, totally agree. Delta 5 were unique

  • It's the gaggle of 4.

  • ha ha ha top shout

  • Damn phase shifter!

    Double basses...way cool!

  • Fantastic band.... I have their 'Singles and Sessions' album, which apparantly is a lot better than 'See the Whirl' their studio album. But I won't pass judgement until I've had the privelage of giving it a listen

  • @tommyperkins - 'See The Whirl' = Good songs but over-the-top production.

BJ Cole guests on pedal steel on one track! Aaargh.

Charisma tried to turn them into a pop group

  • i have recently discovered this band from rough trade at the bbc, really like them alot. Leeds must of been a good place for new wave music back in the day, with the likes of gang of four.

  • It could be from Something Else - that's the source of the clips of The Raincoats and Young Marble Giants from the RT at the BBC programme.

  • Could it be from the Oxford Road Show?

  • Thanks a lot for uploading this! For me it was the best part of the Rough Trade at the BBC video.

  • Great!

  • Good performance but it's not TOTP. Not sure which programme it's from but if I find out I will let you know :-)

  • Rock goes to College iirc
