  • i'm about to buy a fujitsu and u had recommended getting Onenote which i would love. but how do u get the onenote software?

  • @nksnoopy comes with the tablet

  • Hello. Thanks for review this computer. Sorry about my english. I'm thinking in buying it, but please, if you can answer me a few questions:

    - How is it for painting or design? The tactil screen is good for it?

    - Does it have play music controls in the keyboard? (play, stop...)

    - Does it have external control of the sound, or only you can low or up the sound by windows?

    Thank you!

  • @LaurentChokobita This screen is excellent for design and painting with 128 levels of sensitivity. The wacom screen is as good as anything short of a cintiq.

There are no music controls, and sound is controlled by windows key combination.

  • @blazinhomo Thank you for your answer!! Photoshop and other design programs works in the computer?

  • @blazinhomo I thought the T5010 had 512 levels of pressure... ?

  • @YTDekus negative

  • @blazinhomo yeah.. one guy on forums messed up. Ive done some research and i found out that there is just one tablet that has 512 levels and its the ModBook. Some people say that HP TM2 with a Wacom PL-900 pen can achieve 512 but im not so sure about that yet.

  • @blazinhomo 256.. not 128.

  • @YTDekus no 128

  • @blazinhomo Your T5010 is broken or something...

Everyone is saying its 256 levels. Pick the first link when Googling words "T5010 pressure levels conceptart"

  • @blazinhomo Roger.

Enjoy your 128 pressure levels. I am buying a T5010 in a few days.. with 256 levels. :)

  • @YTDekus Well, I had my t5010 for 3 years :)

  • Nice vid! Anyway, a new bumped up version of the T5010 will be released soon after Windows 7 launch with multi touch and dual digitiser screen! Great review! :)

  • i wish no one did a review of it with 2.6ghz besides blaz.

  • Can the screen be swiveled if it's at an angle when in laptop mode? Or does it hit the chassis? In previous incarnations, the stupid thing had to be almost 90 degrees otherwise it wouldn't turn.

  • Yes, you can swivel the screen whether the lid is making a 1degree angle to the chassis, or 175degrees to the chassis

  • stupid Question it can take a max of 8gb of Ram right

  • 4GB

  • can it play ut3 on the lowest settings

  • I think so

  • i hope not 2 sticks of 4gb ram should work.

  • lol gl

  • iam guessing u cant use your hand like the HP TX2(2.4ghz). dam this tablet is great how come u did not get the Ver that has a core clock of 2.8ghz?

i dislike the DDR3 to expensive.

    my customized price(T5010)=$2219.00

    hp tx2=1,696.98. hard choice

  • 2.8GHz T9300(?) uses 35W TDP, while mine uses 25WTDP. Easy choice here.

Well if you still need help deciding, try and figure out how much battery life you need. The fujitsu screens are amazing (IPS PANELS)

  • yea kinda late with this one but yea. what do u think of windows7 on it compared to vista?

    i have $400 to go (2.8ghz / 3gbDDR3 ram 7200rpm HDD).

in the future change the processor to 3.06ghz and max out at 8gbDDR3)

  • thanks, it's going back unfortunately. It's definitely a fun computer though to anyone still undecided.

  • Just wondering if the port on the left side of yours are empty: usb, firewire, and sd card reader, cuz they were on mine. weird right. plus have you ever had any trouble with the tablet drivers not working and not recognizing the pen?

  • No issues, my left side has sd/usb/firewire/XD etc slots. Maybe you got a defective one.

  • thanks for your input, it was very helpful in making my decision to purchase this machine. which can't get here soon enough, maybe only 4 or 5 days. I'll try and post my experiences as well, if you don't mind.

  • do you mind? sorry, didn't mean to type that way

  • It's just the base model.

  • i was planning on buying this online from a cheaper source then upgrading the HD and ram myself. then i was told today this would void my warranty. are there stickers all over this tablet? or was the tech guy just being a jerk. btw great review

  • He was being a jerk. There are no stickers, and I have taken it apart.

  • sweet, just curious but is yours the 2.2 ghz version and if so does it have the led back light or is it a fluorescent bulb

  • LED 2.4GHz

  • do you don't mind tell me the model number of this tablet, FPCM11...?

  • thank you so much...it was really useful

  • No problem ;)

  • wahooo thank you for checking for the comments! i have to say this video is the BEST review for this tablet. I with you had one for T1010 too... i am going to buy T1010, i can't afford T5010... anyway. do you have any idea about T1010? how do you think about it? I need to know what is its graphic card but i can't find it!!! i am going to use Autodesk and Solidworks in some point, ...

THANK YOU for following up! ;D

  • Ok, the main difference between the T1010 and the T5010 is the digitizer. Notice on my tablet the PC follows the pen? On your T1010, the passive digitizer only recognizes pressure on the screen and not from the hardware of the pen. If all you want is some easy doodles, then the T1010 is fine.

  • is there a built in webcam in every t5010?

    and how is the webcam?

  • Webcam quality is great for video conf. Webcams are optional.

  • is the battery life 12hrs with the external battery or just by internal standard batteries?

  • internal

  • I read this Tablet PC isn't best suited for 3D. Is it possible to tweak it so it takes 3D better? Since this is the best tablet PC out there (I tguess) and I think I need to handle 3D and my next school, I'm not sure if this is THE laptop to go. Maybe I should stick to a powerful HP laptop and buy a seperate tablet. Or should I take this (AWESOME) tablet PC and just leave the 3D ability (if not possible to tweak this)?

  • what do you mean 3D? autocad?

  • I mean stuff like Maya - 3Ds Max - Bryce. Stuff like that ^^ The real heavy 3D software.

  • Unsure, it uses a low end graphics chipset

  • So it's impossible - or not recommended - to tweak the chipset so it will support 3D in a long shot? I'm sorry I'm being picky on this. It's just that my upcoming education says it's a necessity. ^^;;

  • It can run 3d, check benchmarks on the intel X4500. It will just be laggy I suppose.

  • What's your battery life been like? Looks like it would be pretty good.

  • 12 hours, both batteries

  • Is this a good college computer? If not what would you recomend?

  • Excellent for school.

  • Does it happen to have a volume wheel?

  • Nope

  • Great review thank you

  • Comment removed

  • Are the speakers weak ?

  • Somewhat

  • blazinhomo, is this one with the outdoor/indoor screen I am wondering how great is the outdoor comparing to the indoor screen

  • Depends. The Indoor screen has noticeable glare due to gloss, and the outdoor screen is matte. It's preference.

  • Thanks for the help. I think i was attracted to the T1010 for the style but the reviews on it weren't so great. I am a high school student who is really into computers...so the price on the T510 is a bit of a stretch, but i think this computer is worth it.

  • The price is quite low depending where you get it. Fujitsu ebay store is a good place to look.

  • Okay i think i have narrowed my choices in tablets to a Fujitsu. But i'm not sure if i should get the Lifebook T1010 or the Lifebook T5010. I'm not really sure what the differences are between them.

  • The T1010 is a passive digitizer (uses finger inputs) which reduced accuracy when penning, as well introduced input lag. The T5010 uses a active digitizer, where only wacom-digitized pens work.

  • I just got my t5010 and I am trying to figure out what little app launcher you have running at the top of you screen. Is it something that is installed by default?

  • It's called objectdock.

  • This was a great review, thanks for breaking down the unit so thoroughly!

Question, I've seen one of the Fujitsu online stores let the occasional refurb T5010 go by for under $1,600. Would a refurb be a good idea in the future, or have you heard about any issues?

I'm highly considering this tablet as purchase for late 2009. Right now it looks like they got T4220's going for under $1,000 in some places, but I'm in no hurry.

  • Refurbs from fujitsu you have to look at the details carefully. They generally describe what's wrong, or if there are any scratches. They aren't in the condition of apple refurbs. T4220's have bad batteries that fujitsu has yet to address, the T4210's however have extended battery warranty due to these issues. The T5010 would be the best bet.

  • Thanks!

  • Five days post comment, have you had any other stuttering issues with the laptop? Playing long songs?

Does it get hot, or do you see heatspikes on the CPU or GPU? Give me the temperature lowdown.

Also, thaks for setting aside the time to test drive this notebook for the genpop. Keep up the good work.

  • The heat issues according to Fujitsu are missing heatspreaders in 500 units that were shipped. There should be NO heat issues whatsoever if you have a good model. And there are no issues playing music or stuttering, I have a 1 hour long track and playing it, I did not notice stuttering.

  • Thank you for your review. I have ordered a t5010 with anti-glare. Now my reseller called and said, that the anti-glare ones are availeable from december. But i could get a glare one within one or two weeks. Is your display a glare one? Have you tested it outdoors/in direct sunlight? Does it look and "behave" like a anti-glare with a screen-protector?

    Thanks

    Scheggy

  • My display is the indoor/outdoor. It does act as a AG screen outdoors, albeit some reflection.

  • Love your review, looking to get one but tossing over whether it is worth the money comparative to whatelse I can get (unfortunetely I am a student) =/

  • Thanks! If PQ is important to you, or you want a screen that is the closest to a 8x11 standard piece of paper, then the fujitsu is for you. Fujitsu uses MVA panels in their notebooks which is the best PQ in any laptop. If you can't spend a lot, take a look at the fujitsu T2020 which is excellent, or go and look at fujitsu's sales on their ebay store. Only get the HP TX2500: if you don't care about PQ, don't use it outside, bringing the ac adapter, weight, and horrible viewing angles.

  • cheers mate, other difficulties I have is that the HP can only be ordered overseas and support is overseas as well. (from aus) whilst the lifebooks have good warranty deals and provide local assistance easily. Big big factors imo. I'll take a look at the T2020. Wish you did a revue one it though haha

  • Oh by the way, would you care to explain the main differences between active and passive digitizers? It is the only other thing deterring me to consider the T1010

  • An active digitizer means that the screen is digitized, and only responds to a pen made specifically for the screen. A passive one allows you to use your finger. The problem with passive ones is the accuracy is CRAP, if you are planning to take ANY notes or drawing, get an active digitized screen.

  • HP has great support domestically, not sure overseas.

  • Thanks for making this review. I am thinking to buy this machine, but I have one concern. Does your T5010 has the "stutter and jitter" problems reported by users when you play musics & videos?

  • No stuttering problems at all.

  • hi blazinhomo,

Do you have a desktop as well or is this your all purpose machine? If so, do you use it more often in tablet mode or classic notebook mode?

If you are going to post another review whicvh I really hope I would like to see starting Word ( or similar ) and then writing one or two pages of text, saving the document to disk. Do you use 1Note?

Thank you for showing your machine.

    2arc2arc

  • I have a incredible desktop setup in my other vids, this machine is for SCHOOL only. I use it more in tablet mode (2x more). Ill see if I can get another video up. ANd yes, I use onenote all the time.

  • No, thank /you/ for making the review ^^

  • No problem!

  • hi...

does the touchscreen work if you touch it with your fingers?

  • No it doesn't because it doesn't use the passive digitiser. The positive of this is that the screen quality doesn't get muddled because of the passive digitiser.
