There may have been no slave trade in the horn but that doesn't mean that the slave traders could not have done it if they'd wanted to. East Africa just lucked out in that regard.

@sansez To be quite accurate none the groups from Horn of Africa (except some Gallas) had ever been enslaved. Its not because they were colonized by arabs at all, its because they had already established very significant trade business in the classic period spreading as far as China and the Java island. One of the main reasons would also have been religion and security.

I'm asian-american. I married an Ethiopian lady I met in sudan. Petitioned for her immigrant visa & got it approved. Then she found out I had cheated on her and decided to divorce me and not come to USA. She told me she had wanted to go to U.S. to be WITH ME and not just for that 'better life.'
