I 2 really sucked at it but every month or so I'd visit my Grandparents on the coast and they had a machine on the pier (-Lowestoft, Engand)at the seafront and boy did i play it 2 death!
I looped it twice back in the day. You needed an arcade version with just the right tension on the joy stick or you'd never make it thru the final stage.
I played a lot this game back in 1980 at the Hollywood mall (closed) on Hwd Blvd - Florida, one of the best arcade games for me. More than 30 years ago!!!! Good flash back lol !
@BlaineC1972 I sucked so bad at this game that I would never have known! Even the books at this time describing how to "master" the game said it was practically impossible to finish. Just goes to show that you are right; this dude is the great scramble player!
Awesome post ... That was one of my favorites back in the day (early 80's)! For it's time, it was a pretty advanced game using sprites, scrolling color graphics, and sound synthesis.
The Game that inspired Gradius!

Why does the building at the final stage says "Konami" on it? Was the goal of the game to invade Konami's headquarters?

This game was like trying to draw the monalisa on a etchasketch, I thought it kept going after the end, cause I never got to see the end until now.

Crap. You are a great scramble player... anyone notice that this was one of the first games created back in that era that you could actually finish?

Perhaps the precursor to "Gradius...?" It certainly plays like it.

@philiptwood That happens to be what Konami said in the intro to Gradius Galaxies for Gameboy Advance.
