Why is physical contact used, I've always understood and been taught by teachers that physical contact is NOT needed in fact every book article etc I've read also says no contact is used. ?

@phillintheuk1 Hello my friend. Reiki 1st Degree is traditionally taught with hands on contact apart from aura scanning but both ways are fine. In our New Awakening Reiki 2nd degree additional methods of deepening the healing are introduced which focus more on hands off.
