Our president thinks that automation and productivity and capital deployment are bad for the economy according to his own words. What micro-economic theory is he applying? My professors would have flunked me for theory like that, but I doubt the president ever took an economics course. We'll never know as he won't release any records concerning his academic record. I think it's plain to see that economic recovery is obviously not a priority or a strongpoint of his administration.
Paul Krugman and his mentor Prof. Samuelson, who was a Keynesian economist flies in the face of provable economics promoted by Milton Friedman. All the academics in the Economic Council of this president follows Keynesian theory which was proven faulty by FDR, as admitted by his Treasury Sec, Morganthau. One has to believe this President knows this. The only conclusion is that what he does is deliberate. Only his followers would swallow the crap about automation reducing jobs in an economy.
@jcomd Excellent point. No doubt Obama knows Keynesian Economics is bogus, however he must
keep up its pretense as it feeds his class warfare strategy. He will continue to publicly condemn Friedman
type tax cuts because they ' benefit the wealthy' (when in reality, they would benefit everyone & send the economy surging forward). His goal is to destroy the economy & make the middle class completely dependent on government handouts, thus perpetually maintaining power for his socialist agenda.
'Economic neanderthal'... Now that's the line of the campaign season! Would love to see the GOP adopt that line and put it in a campaign ad. Great job Dick. Keep 'em coming!
Exactly right on the automation. I am a man that has done both white collar and blue collar work. When automation is set in place, it allows me to be more productive. Potentially, this could allow me to have more wages if I position myself as a trained person. Of equal importance is that automation leads to lower priced and usually higher quality products. So, even without a raise, our purchasing power is greater. Finally, automation tends to create more physically less grueling jobs.
All the people who earn their living by selling firewood, almost completely lost their jobs to the technological advances of natural gas and electrical heat. Then, the Obama administration saved their jobs, by implementing cap and trade. From now on, expect more air pollution, and deforestation than ever before. People will stay warm, no matter what. There is no way the feds can prevent people from cutting down trees. Thanks for saving the environment, and all those important jobs, Obama.
Obama is creating jobs - only not for Americans! He's hired civilians from other countries to do jobs in four war zones overseas. They earn $150,000 plus and it's all tax free!
Obama shovels jobs out the window. And to be true to Obama's words let's eliminate air force one because it's too innovative. Let Obama travel in a horse drawn carriage and his spoiled wife can walk to her expensive vacations. ATM machines were around log before this goof ball president. Hope an change isn't so hopeful is it Osama Obama?
I was listening to a podcast where one of the guests suggested that part of the problem was that we had a housing bubble; but, nobody took that a step further and figured that it also created an employment bubble for that sector. This includes banks, builders, manufacturers of building materials, and other products for the home. This huge artificial market will take a while to adjust to new jobs. A lot of people are having to learn new ways to survive. Just a theory.
If you criticize obummer you're called a racist, usually by idiots who have the same IQ as obummer. He should go back selling used cars. BTW, wasn't he a teacher sub in college? No one knows what he did in college, but we can pretty much figure that one out. Is this the transparency he talked about?

It will be such a joy to be able to listen to Dick over the course of this upcoming campaign season. He is absolutely right on about Obama. I think that Obama's screwballl ideas about economics mirror his general gross immaturity.
I can vouch for how so-called "stimulus" spending has failed in Japan. Ive been here since 1992 and it has not helped the economy one iota. they have been spent trillions trying to revive the economy during that time.
all it did was drive the country very deep into a debt and only helped the cronies of the politicians who received the stimulus money such as the construction firms.
Our current political situation inspired me a song called "I Don't Want to Be Your Friend". Check it out on my channel and give your opinion if you have time.

Those evil railroad people put all those poor wagon masters and manufactures out of business? The "shovel ready" phrase was a bad joke from the start given the speed the 'stimulus' package was assembled. It was basically a clean out the closet of old spending bills that did not stand a prayed of getting through congress, that is, until the dems gained a major hold on both houses. This president couldn't run a lemonade stand, and to be fair, neither could the majority of members of congress.
How many jobs are being held up in SC by this Adm.,12,000 or so. These are not Mcdonald or bank teller jobs either. By the way next time you are with O'Rilley please explain how the government gets more taxes when it has a lower capital gains tax. People will sell more stocks etc., buy more and make more money to pay more taxes. A tax this high will stop trades.
Comparing the misspelling of potato with someone who doesn't understand basic economics is comparing apples to oranges. Obama has no clue what's going on around him and the country is suffering because of it. We would be far better off if he did nothing at but the socialists on the left along with the unions aren't going to let that happen. Their mission is to distroy this country as we know it and to enlarge the government and it's programs in an effort to control the masses...sad but true.
I agree, automation helps us, it does not hurt us! Banks and airlines increased efficiency by adding ATMs and keosks --- these are basic services that should not require additional employees to handle. If not for the airport keosks, which are still maned by employees, people would have to be at the airport three hours early just to check bags and go through security.
Dick, not to split hairs however when you said and I paraphrase, "only recently with the Obama Administration and the last year of Bush..', it is very important, very important to emphasize that during the last two years of the Bush Administration, Congress was controlled by the Democrats!! I know that you know this however whenever the economy is discussed this fact is often overlooked so in reality the last four and a half years belong to the Democrats.

Since it was known by the CBO that no more than 6% of the $800 billion was "shovel-ready," Obama laughing about it with big business insiders is really just arrogance over it working as planned.
It's like, "oh, yeah, I was totally surprised about that shovel ready thing. Wasn't everybody? Ha-ha." Not a surprise, more like laughing over people ever believing that shovel-ready nonsense.
Dick...given Obama's incompetence how can he get re-elected? You need to do a video that explains when people don't have stake in the country i.e. pay taxes, they will always vote for a handout and redistribution of wealth. How do you turn that around?

Dick thx for the videos your brilliance cuts through everyone's BS.
The Obama comment about shovel ready projects not being ready shows his incompetence.. Who spends money, in this case, almost one trillion, without knowing in advance what he is buying?
Obama never said that the loss of these teller jobs was a bad thing. He was just making the point that those jobs are gone and we have to look to jobs of the future.
