  • I wanted to ask .. how many times a day do you feed him? my baby is 5 months tommorow and I am giving him solids once a day.. he has already mastered veggies and rice cereal . Now I'm starting on fruits.

  • We feed him three meals of about 7-8 oz of baby food, but we also feed him table food pretty much all day. :)

  • and does he still drinks a lot of breastmilk?

  • Yep, about 4 - 5 feedings a day. A little less than when he was 1-2 months old, but still about equal to the food he's eating.

  • it neat to see other parents perspective on things. i guess everyone does things different. i was told if a baby isnt happy with the cereal, dont press the issue! let him tell you when he is ready! although 2 weeks later he was a different baby.. haha... i was advised to introduce foods one at a time.. only give 1 food every 5 days or so to make sure there is no type of allergy.. i LOVE the idea of making your own baby food.. im def gonna look into that! he is a beautiful boy! you are blessed!

  • Congrats! Really cute. Taghg looks like he's really coming along great! Can't wait to see more!

  • good work you guys! and congrats to tadhg! more yumminess to come. =)

  • lol Go ahead! :)

  • Tadhg is a gorgeous name!!

I had it on my list for my son but we decided on Liam instead - then changed to Oscar lol.

But anyway, Tadhg is a good, strong Irish name!

  • CUTE video! I love your family! He is adorable!

  • im sorry i cant get over his name i LOVE it and it fits him so well hes such a cute little man

  • Anyway as i was sayin b4 i ran out of space like i always do when i write a comment 2 any1 lol U done a gd job with him coz i know how frustrated u can b cum. He looks like he is eatin wel with no probs i hope. If he carries on eatin like he does u wil have a very big cute boy not that he already aint cute.

Hugs and kisses to Tadhg and hope u r feelin wel with the lack of sleep. I would do anythin to hav a ful nights sleep again. sometimes my boys wake up in middle of night as wel as my baby.

  • Hi dont know if u remember me but we spoke ages ago. I have a 3 yr old son,wel he will b 3 on the 25th of April, another son that will b 2 in May and a little girl who turned 10 weeks today.

I remember the first time i started feeding my boys. It was so hard and a big strugle but within a week they wud eat anythin u gave them especially the1that wil b3 this month he wud eat loads. I hav already started feedin my girl solids as milk is not makin her ful and she took to it str8 away wif no probs

  • aww so cute =)

  • he is so CUTE!

and he looks like he took to the food pretty quickly! :-)

  • Haha this is like watching our first time w/ jacelyn. I tried, then Joel tried, then I tried again, except Joel was the one talking like you (like an expert at it) lol too funny. I guess all parents go through that. ha.

  • Ive heard this is a no-no, but we put my brother in a high chair, and gave him a PP&J sandwich. He fed it to himself. I cant remember how old he was, because he is 19 months now... but thats what we did.

    :)

Tadhg is a VERY cute baby. Im a fan of your posts!

  • Thank you!!!

  • He is getting big Stacey. Very cute. I am looking forward our son's first.

  • i think you guys did rather well for the first time ever!! im getting ready to give my allison her first try of rice cereal here in a couple days! i thought you were supposed to try one food at a time though, just in case they might have an allergy to one of them you will know which one it is! oh well good job!!!

  • That's great advice! We did one food at a time too, three to four days in between new foods. The first video was from about 3 weeks ago. I should have said that. :)

  • LOL I can remember my sons very first "solids"... He was about 5 months (he was 6wks prem so we waited a month after he was 4mth), it was a fruit puree jarred food and i so thought he would do exactly what your little man did but he actually ate the whole jar!!!! Man, that was like a year and a half ago :)

  • Another thing you could try is a plastic spoon?! Sometimes babies don't like the taste of metal in their mouth.

  • Great tip, Tina! We only use plastic spoons.

  • Sorry, I realise now that I wrote that before I saw then end of the video where you did have the plastic spoon!

  • Thats so cute Stacy looks like Tadhg has came a long way with eatting that is so cute so do you get to be a stay at home mommy full time or are you already back at work?

  • I'm a stay-at-home mommy for now, but in a year or two, I might go back! I'll have to re-evaluate how much fun it is being a mom. Maybe Daren will want to stay at home for a while?

  • when i started feeding my daughter i never made her cereal that thin...wasnt really thick just kinda soupy not watery...lol...dont know if that helps

  • Yeah, ours was like really runny applesauce. Good for the first few feedings.

  • Its so funny my son did the same thing , just repeat repeat repeat . pretty soon you wont be able to give them bites fast enough!!

  • That's the problem we have now -- he starts grunting when we don't give him the next bite soon enough!

  • aww he so cute i didn't know it was that hard to feed them lol
