  • i can beat the hard level on one quarter.

  • Està en la versiòn a prueba de tontos...!!! ponele el normal o mejor aùn el hard... !!!

  • On this difficulty even my sis finish it :P

  • WOW! I used to love this. infact the minute i started watching this my cock burst out my jeans!

  • Oh yeah, I preferred to play with the Player 2 robot (better combined weapon/boomerang 8 way) with Auto 2 (straight rapid fire).

  • One of the greatest Capcom (and arcade) titles of all-time! This game had everything: combined robots, awesome BGM, and the perfect balance of gameplay and difficulty. I beat the game on one coin back when I was 17 after trying for weeks. A beautiful moment in my life. Love. This. Game. I still play it on MAME 20+ years later.

  • i beat this with one credit but the setting was on hard

and man you had to have quick reflex too.

  • anyone know an old 80s arcade where you go to different planets a little similar to this one?

  • @fjkdfrefneklrj

    Xain'd Sleena?

  • @shinobicl yes thats the one,i found it a while after my question

  • Almost 2 credited the Turbographax 16 version a few min before typing this. Its a lot easier due to the Level 3 shotgun doing as advertised and destroying shots. The occult goats head at the end creeps me out. Kinda feels out of place in a robot suits vs aliens game.

  • I remember playing this game on 1 of my summer vacations.

Always liked robots, so this game called my atention right away.

Those times the TV series Robotech was also popular.

  • wicked game....80`s....bunking of school to go play this....they should release a new version of this..as these were good game...unlike the games now which can be finished in 2-3 hours

  • OMG Brings back memories..i was in the army 1987/1989 and i played this game on arcade machine. Took me about 3 1/2 weeks and a lot of cash to finish the game with over 3000000 points...no one ever beat that record :)

    Thx for the post m8

  • Hey did you also notice at the end of the game, they spelled "Congratulations" wrong?! And also, the guy that designed the game has the first name "Poo" lol

  • Damn this was my all-time favourite arcade game! I loved everything about it :D I see you managed to complete the game on one credit, but did you ever complete the game on one LIFE?? I did :D Only once though lol

  • I beat this today on my modded PSP using 2 credits. I will try for a 1 credit win! Thanks for the inspiration, this game is my greatest favorite of the 80's arcades.

  • This brings back serious memories - I remember going to the local arcade when I was in grade school and playing this to death.

  • Excelente Video Juego. Felicitaciones al que hizo la demo.

    Lo mejor, la música... EPICA!

    Saludos.

  • Another tip to help you finish this game.

When you collect the alpha beta pickup it gives you 2 hits

So if you see one and you have 1 hit left ; get hit and then pick up

This means you 2 hits again.

  • brilliant game! my lousy arcade had it set to insane difficulty - still managed to finish it often - and yes minus the tip of the fingernail everytime!

used the upgraded 3-way for pretty much everything, found the shotgun didn't seem to nullify enemy shots otherwise facing the 2nd boss would've been easy, at least that was fixed in the PC engine ports.

  • arcade version was the best. finished it by 1 coin too. great game!!

  • Awesome, this is the first time I seen the arcade version.

  • Congraturations! :) lol

That was a pretty amazing runthrough!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this is the best game arcade of my life awesome !!!

  • unofficial trilogy.. sector z, side-arms, forgotten worlds

  • yeah this is my best game, music is cool, this game is only for masters :)

  • WOW ! I REMEMBER THIS GAME ! This game is way too easy compared to R-type and Raiden Fighters...

  • The music composer is the same on Megaman 2 for NES.

  • sweet! Love that game and played it way back when...

  • I like the music, and the game itself!

  • Indeed my all-times favourite, I used to finish it with a coin too, in easy mode of course haha :D if you play in normal mode is very difficult because almost every enemy fires at you from the beginning and it is a nightmare in hard mode.

I went to the arcades to play it once in a day everyday, I loved the music, specially that on the fourth stage (the longest) it was heroic, almost sad and that on the 7th stage (the one that looks like lava) sounded great!

Ahh the memories. Bless the MAME!

  • Best BGM of the hole game, LOVE IT!!!! =D

    24:30

  • aahh.never gets old

  • Ah the memories...I used to play this all the time at the arcade when I was a kid (omg 20+ years ago!). I could finish on one coin (about 75-80% of the time) and it was INSANE at the end. I preferred to use the machine gun auto while combined and then use the 3-way as the back up. Classic Capcom goodness. Thanks for posting!

  • enjoy the music

  • you're playing on easy mode. arcades were usually set on "hard" so enemies shot bullets at you from the very beginning

  • WOW... it is, absolutelly, the best Arcade game I played. My firend, how can I download it??

    RGS!!

  • What a trip down memory lane. I used to be able to beat this with one coin also. I have for years been trying to remember the name of the game.

    thank you for sharing this.

  • This was the only TG16 game I owned that I couldn't beat, I came so close so many times.... Still a major sore spot for me.

  • Did anyone notice the ending said "Contraturations"?

  • Yes, I suppose it is "engrish" and by the way, after all you went through just to get that ending?... 8(

    But love it anyway!

  • oooh, esa música me recuerda 1989-90, impresionante banda sonora.

  • this game is only concentration, miss this, and all life lost

  • sweet! thanks for sharing

  • Thanks for posting, watched the whole thing, ah the memories!

  • black tiger and sidearms the best

  • what a great game,have this on my turbo-grafx

  • love this game. i did 1 coin clear (we got only lives @ starr on my aracades). I always destroy armor to get new (so it has new HP - 2 hits)

Cant believe U lost the armor in 3rd lvl hehe;)

thx for uploading! one of my best old game (same as Black Tiger or Tiger Road)

  • WHAT A CLASSIC!!!!!

The only game I've ever completed, I dread to think how many hours I spent on this at the roller rink!! HA

I take it you can't get a copy for PC cos I can't find one?

  • this on mame? i went though it on one credit a few years back..dunno what setting it was on though

  • yo jugé a esto también hace casi 20 años, era uno de los que mas me gustaban junto con xain sleena.

  • Amazing the memories of how crap i was at this game has all come back to me....well played!

  • I used to play this game every morning before school as a kid. Wound up being late a lot...

  • It is on the easiest setting. No need for cheating.

I practiced quite a lot before making this video.

Besides, if i cheat in game, I mention it in description.

By the way, I beat the game almost everyday (with some continues) in the arcade about 20 years ago and it wasn't on the easiest setting.

  • i love this game, great gameplay & music, you didnt use any cheats with mame32 did you?

  • good game but r-type and gradius-series were the best :)

  • the game is on very very very very very easy

  • Yeah the music sounds like crap

  • I LOVE this game. One of my passions along with R-Type & Rolling Thunder. At the time, it was the closest thing to playing a Robotech-like game (Alpha-Beta fighters). Man, like 20 years ago. Anyway, my bud's and I would get out after class (Math 210 - CalculusI I think) and meet up at the Student Commons where one drop would get me to the end. Onlookers would gather like "The Last StarFighter" or something. I wasn't even that good I thought. (Ah! the glory days when my reflexes were young).

  • heh that's the reason i played it it reminded me of the alpha beta combo

  • i love the engrish "Congraturations!"

  • This game reminds me of a random game called Enhancer

  • Wow, that must have taken nerves of steel! That was awesome. I also think the music in the tg16 version sounds better but it wasn't all bad. Thanks for the vid.

  • Wow the music on the PC Engine/TG16 version is better than this
