  • Looks like a good movie

I'm actually reading the book right now

    I just love Stephen king

He's like the best author of horror

Books and his books make the best horror

    Movies

  • Aww, tiny little Drew Barrymore...

  • Esta pelicula me impacto mucho desde niña para los '80. Desde entonces sigo a Drew en sus movies.

  • Awesome!!

  • I just finished the book, how close is the film compared to the book? The book was amazing, and the bits I gathered from the trailer look dead on,I picture Rainbird looking younger and more Indian-looking,though.

  • Not Bad.

  • Man this movie is old and it still kicks ass !

  • IS this pg13 it look good

  • more like a syfy fuck syfy horror is the best

  • The book is amazing, one of my favorite books, and although I have not seen this movie, it looks like an extremely poor adaptation of such a great book.

  • Sure, it's corny, but Stephen King is a masterful book writer and we enjoy the films as a result, He's just THE MASTER OF HORROR, that's all! I want this on BluRay, about time. I saw it theatrically when it was new and recorded the TV supplements at the time...to Beta cassette!

  • It seems like the book is a lot better than the movie, but then again, every book is better than it's theatrical adaption.

  • Seriously, theres a real life firestarter in Philippines..

I heard it on news,it's a little girl named Rose and nobody can explane it how can she start a fire and how can she predict the time if there's a fire ,it' kinda creeps me out in watching the video footage when she starts a fire

  • @JRproduction101 King says part of this story comes from Charles Forte's old "Book of the Damned", it chronicled various mysteries and stories he could write about at that time, it's pretty interesting, look into his biography! This was back in 1984 IIRC, King was asked about it on US TV

  • Just finished the book,. its amazing!

  • Oh....Martin Sheen was already playing Illusive Man in this flick! haha!

  • @TheHorrorPeep

and have hot lesbian sex after too ;)

  • can i borrow this girl for burning my fking neighbours house

  • LOL. The voice over in film trailers back then were so damn cheesey! XD

  • @TheHorrorPeep

I'd say Charlie vs. Tetsuo would be cool

  • They kept shooting at her. Take the hint lol. I would've been running faster than Usain Bolt. lol

  • Comment removed

  • aawwww "Daddy I'm scared!" C-U-T-E!!! I wouldnt want to get in a fight with her!

And heck ya she'll have the power to survive! lolz

  • Good trailer, but what's with all these old movies with spoilerific trailers? Carrie was the same way!

  • Screw Freddy vs Jason. I just wanna see Carrie vs Charlie.

  • @rainbowmuppet They're both awfully similar. That would be a kick-ass battle for sure. Besides, both movies have a girl who discovers powers and uses them for many reasons. Crazy.

  • @rainbowmuppet I would love to see that too. I wonder who would win...

  • Reading this book right now :D Can't wait to finish it

  • Carrie or Firestarter who wins

  • @thrillamne Good question who would win Carrie or Charlie. They should team up and kill all the evil in the world.

  • Wow the narrator reminds me of Ted Williams..where is he now? Is he still in the rehab?

  • I'm reading the book and it is AWESOME!!!

  • i think it's from new world pictures right?

  • Wow, the first 80s trailer if hear in Stereo :D

  • 2nd one Sucks

  • Fuck Steven King!

  • @Sesselfurtzer13 why would you say that? honestly that is like the stupidest comment anyone could have ever made.

  • @ilovefunnyvideos216 anyway you think! thats my opinion

  • This movie gets a lot of shit but I think it's one of the better Stephen King movies. The book was one of my favorites by him.

  • Those fools in the silver suits didn't stand a chance.

  • I read the book and it was awesome and scary as hell, but I wasn't sensing that form the movie. I mean Rainbird look just like another Native American, where in the book he was very scary to look at and more evil than anyone else at the Shop. He was the top reason I found the book to be scary.

  • @BPgamemaster12 I'm reading the book right now, and Rainbird does sound scarier in the book. Tall, strong, menacing. In the movie, he's creepy, but not tall or strong. More like a wise old man.

  • "For you, Daddy."

  • Just wanted to let you know that I used this video in my review for the film. Thanks!

  • talk about reliving your childhood!! seeing this movie and i think of my childhood in the 80's since drew is 3 years older then me. :-D

  • it looks to me that rainbird has both his eyes in the movie? thats kind of a let down...

  • I'm reading this book right now...It's so amazing <3

  • @RzrbladesonFire

Book is better than film. :)

  • When I was reading firestarter, I imagined John Rainbird as a one-eyed steven segall

  • @Alchrat I thought Javier Bardem would make a good John Rainbird.

  • @acesobrian is he Native American?

  • old movie trailers got TONS of spoilers -.- but still awesome nonetheless. drew was so innocent x.x

  • i think x men stole thier idea based of this lol

  • @uberhaxor69 But the X-Men were created in 1963 by Stan Lee. Stephen King didn't write Firestarter until 1980.

  • @RandomUsername010 yeah but in the original xmen they werent hailed as mutant freaks they were hailed as heroes it was only till the late 80's till the series launched that anti mutant agenda

  • @uberhaxor69

    What about Akira?

  • @Johnlindsey289 akira is an awesome movie :D but thats the 90's lol this is 1984 :P

  • @uberhaxor69

Akira's manga was made in 1983 and the movie came out in Japan in 1988 and in 1989 here in the states and everywhere.

  • Brilliant adaptation of Stephen King's fantastic book!

  • Did this movie remind anyone of Akira? i mean it's very similar to that awesome Japanese animated Sci-fi movie as they both have telekinetic/pyrokinetic people in it

  • They've shown the whole movie in one trailer.

Well that saves my money and time. haha

  • This has been my favorite movie for nearly 30 years. I was 12 when this movie first came out. Unfortunatley, I was not old enough to see it in the theaters when it did. I have been dreaming ever since of being able to see it in the theaters at least once. I did read very recently that a remake IS in the works. However, it will NOT be like the original. The character of Charlie will have more of an "Edge" as articles point out. It will be coming out in 2014.

  • @firestepher72

It will be a re-adaptation and will be more true to the book

  • i rember when i first saw this and the 2nd one when i was in the 2nd grade

  • Magnolia 296, I agree completely. Drew Barrymore was a brilliant child actress, and I think to this day she still is an amazing actress. And yes, the '80's were fantastic. I haven't really left the decade in a sense, haha. Yes, a phenomenal book and film.

  • What's it rated?

  • @connolly48 Hi, the movie has an "R" rating and that's probaly due to the content.Came out in 1984.But it's a well done movie.I saw it as a kid and still love it years later.Drew Barrymore was awesome.I read the book which was good...but movies based on novels are usually differnet.I mean look at Stephen King's The Shining...he so disliked the original and even Children of the Corn.More a chance for film maker's to put on a screen what they imagine..Today it would be 14A.But a good movie

  • Yes, this is an amazing story and film. And Barrymore was (and is) an amazing actress. It's timeless. Everyone did a fantastic job playing their parts, and Barrymore definitely shined.

  • Firestarter is one of my all time favourite Steven King thrillers. Drew was wonderful it it. You could never top her performance if they remade it.

  • too bad they let her die in there. How sad

  • This is no fiction. Not too long in the past there was a girl who have the power to burn things by means of looking only to it but it is not her fault because she also cannot control her pyrokinesis like the girl on the video so they put her into a mental hospital with a special ward which resist fire only for her.

  • im around half way through the book this trailer kinna spoiled a little... :D

  • la pelicula no la he visto, pero el libro es asombroso es genial ese stphen king es un gran narrador.

  • Ladies and Gentlemen, whats better, the book or movie? reply to this comment to inform me

  • The part that really sticks in my mind (because my mother did it, without telekinesis) was the scene in this movie where Vicky (Charlie's mother) pulls out a pan of something from the oven and Charlie sets it on fire...

  • This book was SO much better than the movie.................the movie was just goofy and corny.

  • shes the worst enemy of all pedos lol, and 3 of them had already burned

  • It was older movies like this and Scanners that inspired Stan Lee to create the X-Men. The original ones were Children of the Damned and such. Then Stan likened X-Men to the Jewish Holocaust. Love the concepts behind this sci-fi theme.

  • Did anyone notice how Charlie's dad in the movie looks kind of like Jared Padalecki? Or is it just me......

  • @blankpage10 Wow... he does!

  • one of my favorite movies ever since I was a kid.

  • Epic film, but this trailer kinda sucks lol

  • awww?! Drew Barrymore is sooo cute!!!

  • I've always loved this movie. The music is great too...Tangerine Dream

  • who'd win in a psychic fight? Carrie or Charlie?

  • @JVcrow44 Who knows? There both awesome.

  • @JVcrow44 Definitely Charlie. Without any hesitation. Charlie is so much more powerful. The crazy scientist estimated that she could eventually split the earth into two halves. And she was a child, he said that when she is going to be teenager, she will be even more powerful.

So sorry to Carrie, she's burned!

  • @elphe44 That sounds pretty cool, but dnt forget Carrie's telepathy could also give her the upper hand.

  • @JVcrow44 Carrie did'nt have telepathy, she had telekinesis, and you have to be teekinetic to some extent to be pyrokinetic or a firestarter.

  • @lookintothesun007 I'm going by the book, she had telepathy in the book, her thoughts were projected throughout the whole town, and before she died in Sue Snells arms she entered Sue's mind.

  • @JVcrow44 my apologies,I have'nt read the book yet, just finished Firestarter and intend to read as much Stephen King as I can.

  • @lookintothesun007 S'alright :D

  • @JVcrow44 Charlie... she'd just burn Carrie alive

  • @ERAUPRCWA ...Yeah, i like Charlie better anyway X)

  • wow thats drew berrymore

  • @batistaker123 bArrymore

  • @BrianHamiltonTV whatever

  • brilliant book, but I don`t know if the movie is also so good...

  • my favorite movie, since '84 -

  • was this before or after carrie?

  • @hubbardproductions it was after Carrie...i think Carrie came out in the late 70's...

    Carrie was good too.

  • omg i just noticed that this was drew barrymore i didnt know it

when i saw the movie long time ago wow me and my fam are

fans of her thats awesome wow i want to see this movie again now

by the way stephen king is awesome he has great movies

i didnt even know that i have watched a few movies from him

and now i k now hahahahaha =] awesome

  • @KimCi1990 no need

    to hit the enter

    key to move to a

    new line while typing

    it will do it automatically.

    otherwise it looks like this.

  • i just got done reading the book.. is the movie worth watching?

  • Barely started reading this book, its freakin awesome.

  • Smoking or non-smoking?

  • Great trailer. You can see even the end. Good idea.

  • Fire starter has 66,666 views lol. What a co'inckydink'.

  • aww lil drew

  • This movie looks ridiculous. I've read the book but I haven't seen the movie. Thank God.

  • This has got to be one of the corniest, dryest narrations in all of movie trailer-dom. The soundtrack is on point though. Good movie... But they forgot to mention her dad has powers too!!

  • @deucedot So does her Mom -also known as "The Touch"; all SK's vision (fr/ The Dark Tower saga). ;). Just one of his Constant Readers. Just think of: Lost.

  • We don't need no water let the muthafucker burn!

  • I'd love that power!!

  • what if someone asked for a staring contest with her?? lol

  • da-lhe maconha

  • this movie just reminds me of carrie

  • the book is very good, but I haven`t seen the movie yet

  • I love this movie.

  • @MrSpongg

because you`re the biggest fan? ;]

  • @MrSpongg probably you boost them your self

  • That's not fair that she had telekenisis to at the end of the movie then the people can't shoot her this would have been better if she had to run

  • Charlie! "Back off, Back off!!" I saw this way back when, I taped a bunch of interviews, including ET's behind the Scenes and both Drew with KING on morning TV interviewed. Hope to find it for my channel, it got lost some time back

  • Wow! SCI-FI/Thriller classic from the old good 80s. Drew Barrymore showed brilliant acting. The same with David Keith and Martin Sheen. Drew was the best kid actor I've ever seen - way better than Macaulay Culkin, Elijah Wood and Dakota Fanning together.

    Firestarter was superb film.

  • @Magnolia296 :( I love Elijah Wood. The little hobit has a place in my heart. :D

  • This movie made me cry, and I only saw the ending of it. :'(

  • i loove drew barrymore shes a great actress/producer shes so cute!!

  • :) thnx

  • 0:56 , holy shit, i want that gun.

  • I've never heard of this movie/book until just a few days ago. It looks alright, I'll have to check it out. I just got done reading and watching The Stand. It's a really great book and movie!

  • Stephen King has about 40 books or more now I believe

  • drew barrymore was so adorable

  • I think she looked better as a child actor then she does now. She also had a voice that wasn't annoying like some actresses

  • drew is so cute <3

  • lol i seen it on encore movies at the end she was shooting fireballs at people lol it was funny how people were blowing up lmao

  • This movie would blow if it did not have George C. Scott as the bad guy. What a role man. Such a great actor and to play as the villain, man this movie rocked.

  • I liked the effects, and the casting wasn't bad. Martin Sheen is enjoyable, and David Keith

  • Wow classic . Thanks You for this trailer . I must look . 5 S T A R S : )

  • I have a cousin who looks just like Drew Berrymore she's about ten

  • almost finished this! on the last chapter, got Under The Dome to read next

  • FIRESTARTER-THE PRODIGY

  • I finished the book an hour ago, it was great. It was so sad when ******* died in the end, those who have read the book knows who I'm talking about. Andy in the movie looks like the way I imagined him, but I think Rainbird should have more scars.

  • what was the mothers power

  • telekinesis...

  • ugh i thought rainbird would NOT be a old guy that with GLASSES!

i thought it would be a 21 year old with slick black hair, and NOT wearing glasses...........he is NOT old

  • Patrick Moore is firestarter

  • GREAT movie.

  • I just finished reading the book yeterday. It was a good read but this movie looks just as lame as almost every other Stephen King movie adaption. Plus Rainbird didn't look like that at all in my head. That's a lame ass version of a great character.

  • 1408 was a brilliant movie though.

  • i looked SO much like drew Barrymore as a kid...but now that im older we look nothing alike...strange

  • They have superpowers!

    Her father has telepathy!

  • more like mental control

  • whatever beeatch.

  • Back at you ,dumbshit

  • is that it?...if you're gunna have a comeback, Atleast make hurtful.

  • It is not my fault you read a book or watch a movie and still not know anything about it.Keep on reading or watching or whatever untill you get your facts straight.Good luck

  • TLDNR.

I said a good comeback, not an essay.

  • Good jobThat was a hard word but you spelled it .Keep up the reading

  • So you don't know what TLDNR means?...

    tsk..tsk..tsk...sad nooblets.

  • (sigh)The word was ESSAY.Spoke to soon.Still a dumbshit

  • better get your eyes checked, I spelt it right bitch.
