It's not. This is the same richter from Dracula X, where he walked as slow as simon, and had very stiff controls. He can still throw daggers at break neck speed, but the SoTN richer is much more advanced than this.
God i hated this fucking game so much, i mean, i enjoy high dificulty when it's done right but not difficult because it's frustrating... erratic enemys with irregular patterns, Richter being stiff ass a cock, taking waaaay too much dmg from crap enemies... It was all about abusing the sub-weapons and burning the bosses down as fast as possible...
Actually it's about being quick with you wits. You can take down all of the bosses in innumerable ways. It's not too hard when you think about it.
Richter's stiffness was the point-- he doesn't take too much damage. Maria Does-- she dies in 3 hits in any standard attacks from Dracula.
The Erratic Patterns were made to make the bosses unpredictable-- you have to know what to do in each attack. Bosses usually have warning signs on what attack they're going to do.
@ringthatkill did I say anything about caring? Go back and read what I said then answer that question. I was just stating the graphics look like fucking garbage because they do
@ringthatkill It's not CV, CV games don't look that fucking shitty, its just a cash grab that stupid fangirls like you will empty their wallet for, the same type of idiots that thing SotN is the best Castlevania game.
@AntichristDemoncore graphics do look like shit but give them credit at least they tried something diffrent .
i dont like this game it looks slow and buggy i just play rondo of blood on wii and chronicles on ps3 and sometimes sotn its repitive but its still fun
@ringthatkill @ringthatkill It's not CV, CV games don't look that fucking shitty, its just a cash grab that stupid fangirls like you will empty their wallet for, the same type of idiots that think SotN is the best Castlevania game.
@somaisthebest 1, 3, 4 and Bloodlines are all better than SotN and 2 is even better than SotN. At least in 2 you get to travel across landscapes and aren't stuck in some castle the entire time. Every other castlevania game had great levels to travel through and wasn't some huge maze. Sure the RPG elements may add depth but Castlevania is about skill and reflex not having a whole arsenal for taking out anything. The bosses have always been easy in CV games though no matter what.
ok they definetly need to make more 3d side scrolling castlevanias for the psp and ds, they are awesome, i own three of the other free roaming 3d games and there ok but side scrolling is always better, but combine 3d with sidescrolling and you got a winning formula
I play Castlevania Curse of Darkness because its the only one i can play since Symphony of the Night, but this bosses are truly a deception... a floting eye that shoots flames? come on!, the creators could have done really a greater job... looks like theyre running out if imagination
This game is orignally alot older than Curse of Darkness and Symphony of The Night, so I can't see how they're running out of imagination now and they didn't back then when they made the two games you like.
Besides, it's just one Boss, the rest are fine, and I think the face is inspired by some Japanese folklore, as you know they always like to add their culture to their games.
I also have Rondo on PC and it's even on my utube page, just click in my name and u'll see the link 4 the game! Damn there's definitely some conection man!
There's a GBA and DS version of the game? Never knew that. SoTN is only on PS1, Saturn, Xbox 360, and PSP. You can count PS3, if you count the PS1 downloads. In either case. It's a good game. I did play pretty far into Dracula X, but I found my self playing both remakes more than the 3D one. The redone voices in SoTN were great too.
Anyway. I'm not trying to praise it, as I think it's pretty over-rated (Dracula X, probably being really close behind it) I just enjoy the Metroid-vania style.
@TranceCore3 no dude, the gba and DS castlevania (which share the gameplay of SotN) , i mean for me who play those version before SotN i can say some arre much better (DoS and OoE)
Ofcourse the newer castlevania games are gonna be better than SoTN. If SoTN were to get a sequel, or a remake, it would probably blow the newer games out of the water. The reason SoTN is praised so much is because it set the record on what a metroid-vania game should play like, as far as exploration goes. I honestly feel that AoS, and HoD were much better, gameplay wise (sort of) but you have to give credit where credit is due. without SoTN, we wouldn't have any of those gems today.
@TranceCore3 well, actually the credit comes from Super Metroid, sure i agreed that SotN is great, but way too overrated, the new games based on SotN are better (well some) i dont doubt that they make a jewel with SotN but that game wouldnt be born if wasnt for Metroid series
Castlevania 2 is a non-linear adventure, just like classic metroid, and every other metroid-vania game. Those are the two original games that started gameplay like such. Super Metroid and SoTN just added the interface we're so used to.

i cant believe castlevania atualy tried sony. this isnt origanol at all. and from what i have seen it doesnt look like it has the castlevania feel. and the background art is horrible compared to any other castlevania game.
dont it sucks the levels are too hard and there are no potions and stuff doesnt have that free to travel around feture and only 1 wep and 5 abilities it sucks get wipeout pure, twisted metal or armored core
Or better yet, ignore Plagus7 and get it since it's an awesome old school style Castlevania games for PSP that contains the original Rondo of Blood game and Symphony of the Night as unlockable features. Too hard? Not unless you're a coward who pisses his pants over a challenge.

What are you calling "metroid-vania game" ?
Why does Metroid come here ? What's the link with Castlevania ???
For me all the castlevania are the same (except Circle of the Moon with its card system and Order of Eclesia with the glyph system).

I can't believe this is the same Richter from SOTN who can do backflips and hyper uppercuts and throw millions of knives, and break neck speed.

@AntichristDemoncore they were easy mostly because of the arsenal that you had. Plus your skill level is important as well

The credit actually goes to normal metroid. The first castlevania to play in a metroid style was castlevania 2.
TranceCore3 7 months ago
@TranceCore3 not quite, even though you have to return some time to places you previously visit the gameplay is still a lot different that on SotN
