I want to run in the snow but my parents wont let me. Im young, a freshman in highschool, but ive been told im a really good runner for my age. My 5k time is 18:23 and my best mile is a 5:15 (i ran that last year in 8th grade). i need to run everyday to get ready for track but we are having a pretty bad winter :(
@faulkner24 Breaks are OK too. If you love running, you will be fine. Tell your parents that if they won't let you run in the snow, you will start doing stuff ordinary high school kids do. That will scare them into letting you run. They should know that it is actually safer to run in the snow in terms of potential falling on one's face. More cushion. Just get good gripping shoes or a pair of these detachable spikes (whatever they're called).
Does anyone know the name of the song used in the very beginning, and it seems is continued at 5:57? And also the name of the song at 3:50? Please, and thank you!
@rwiebster Are you talking bout the song? B/c if so it's "Scotland" by the Lumineers. Haha it was in the credits the whole time, but I failed to look.
I've been a distance runner since 1968, and my second most memorrable run was Christmas morning in Ludllow, Vermont, in 1986. The thermometer read dead zero. There was no wind. It was strangely still. I did ten miles, finishing with my hat in one hand and gloves in the other. What a beautiful morning that was. Nothing could touch me. I could have run forever, but was getting hungry. .
I just bought a Reebok Realflex and I was wondering is it good for daily miles and miles running?? and the colors have different prices does it affect the shoe of quality
@soldierside365 That's true old meme, but some of us cant run like we used to because of our knees. I figured it was actually one of the more relevant variations of the joke .
Great job on the documentary. Can you tell me what camera(s) (GoPro?) you used and any other equipment, ie maybe a little steady cam? If not then great job on the moving shots.
People like Anton really inspire me. I'm not an ultramarathoner, or even a marathoner for that matter, but just after watching this video I ran 8 miles. He does more than that before actually running..haha! But, he's said it before, there is something beautiful, primal, and free about running. Your mind is set free. In this day and age, I think we all need that.
This guy inspire my running but it stillhe never run in Canadian winter, still thatminimals running is great and like it but anton isn't cold in us like Quebec winter peace and run
Jsuis sure que tu peux le faire ... yen a plein qui le font, habille toi bien c'est tout, mais effectivement essai pas avec des souliers de type minimal.
Anyone tell me what black top he's wearing, i'm trying to build my winter gear for the season, may as well copy this dude, he's got a beard that's all i need to know
DAm he the interviewer is so lucky, get's to befriend Anton Krupicka, and at the end like lets go running and they just go out and have fun. Thats cool.
If you guys liked this, there's a cool movie called "Indulgence: 1000 Miles Under The Colorado Sky" that follows Anton Krupicka around as he runs and trains.
@TheGreatAristo snow is slippery, so your foot slides over rocks easily, you never roll the ankle enough in snow to injure it. Also the snow packs the gaps between rocks, so the trails are smoothed out. It is damn good ankle training though, come spring I always get braver on rocks between the
This is precisely what I needed at a time such as this, with the sickness of winter weather dragging my running down. I can't wait to get into the ultra game after college and hopefully take up residence in Boulder.
Love the music. It fits in perfectly!

@faulkner24 What I did in winter was do Jumping squats an Jump rope indoors.
I would also do sprint workouts in my yard.
They build explosiveness and will help with your mile time but not so much with your 5K.
