Love the rig. AND the mechanics of it. My next go-around will implement a tumbling system. Try throwing some dry ice in that tumbler, and reduce your screen down to 100 micron mesh, or so. Peace.
Ok, I already have a kief sifter. You can still extract hash from the leaves or buds even after you get the kief from it. I have been making oil, but now I want to make some bubble hash, hopefully without buying the bags.
very interesting i hope you had fun cause its definitly the most complicated way ever to get kief from your clippings. but sure looks like you had fun building it haha
as the drum is not enclosed a lot the pollen becomes airborne & gets wasted, all of the commercial bought models are enclosed in a box of sorts, for a reason
@demmylowther you only make low grade hash with 5 bags. you need at least 7 bags to get any kind of quality from that outdated, wasted labor stupid bag system
put small shards of dry ice in there, together with a couple of small rocks together with the trim/weed, that really makes it go fast, and you get less plant material, and more tricomes :)
nice machine but i would recommend that you make rugged edges so that when it spins it will give it a shake and will help the process get you more of the good stuff =}
2 paint buckets, silk screen, and a hand sander. Cut hole in one bucket, place screen on uncut bucket and then press other bucket on top. Will be about 4 inch cavity between screen and bottom bucket. then suspend sander from ceiling wrapping cord around bucket handle! throw your trim in, turn on sander, voila!Processed 100's of lbs this way!
Very nice. I just found most of these supplies laying around my garage and a slow rev rock tumbler of craigslist for 10 bucks...looks like a project just found me.
This isn't a bad idea. I'm partial, though, to the reciprocating (shaking back and forth) screen method, though. Found a great source (inexpensive and domestically produced) for stainless mesh. Now to find a surplus motor and get to work on my "shake box" (hahaha; that's punny!). All the best!

It may cost a little compared to a commercial bought pollinators, but I always say, time is money. What loser has the time to build this rub goldberg when you have to work full time.Unless your unemployed because you cannot pass th drug test so you have all the time in the world to build this,or you work part time at Wal-Mart,Burger King,7-11 where you have time to do this.I bought a 5 bag/5 gal bubble bag system from Wacky Willy's for $90.00 - the 5 gal buckets,
@demmylowther If you're full time job really takes up THAT much of your life and you have no time to have a hobby, I think you're a loser. I work full time and I still have time to build things and explore my creative side. People like Doc are the kind of people that make innovative things that one day you'll be spending your "full time" money on one day. People who use basic materials and create something useful on their own. Edison didnt want a kerosene lamp he wanted a light bulb. Good work!
@demmylowther youre one of those lazy ass stoners with no mechanical know how or aspirations, but some people actually get more benfit from knowing that they actually made the effort to build something rather than just buying it,for me its much more satisfying.
Wow, not bad at all - there is so much more satisfaction out of building something like this yourself than buying one premade (unless you get a good deal) - Keep on building!
Is the threaded rod just spinning there in the pocket of sheet metal above the collection tray? Is it producing any metal dust? I would run a rare earth magnet thru the kief after collection, theres a awful lot of galvanized sheet metal around, that stuff aint good for you.
I truely dont know if its a lot or not, but i kind of dont care, i got me a very big homemade hashmachine, to about 100$. It takes roughly 45 pounds of harvest in the barrel.
Thanks !

Thank you kindly for reply..
I found some yesterday by total accident :)
Cost a bit but its "just around the corner" from where i live..
Íve made one, but my first try was not a succes, my choce of motor was running maybe 10000 rpm (dont know)..
A simple dimmerswitch was the answer.
Im on the drawingboard with my V.2 right this moment. Just needed some inspiration.
Thanks again
