At this rate, Obama has floundered around while trying to let the corporate entities who caused the spill fix it themselves, when he should have taken the reigns, seized all assets from all companies involved, and gotten the entire military, army core of engineers, and commercial sector involved to immediately solve the issue.

There is no more immediate problem to the usa than this. It is as serious as a direct military attack on the usa people.

The oil's coming out of a clean drilled hole - why the hell cant it be plugged , by something being forced into the hole by tremendous force ?

@rolynstone48 What they needed to do, which has been known but who knows why it hasn't been done, is cut out the bad section of pipe and put a new section in, thus plugging the well and recapturing the oil.

Also get every ship you can out there sucking up the dirty ocean water and filter out the oil.

And then they need to throw everything at the spill to section off the oil and prevent it from going on shore.

The whole military + commercial sector should have been thrown at this problem.

@Jbins i do have my issues straight, stupid. but how environmental conscience is it for greenpeace to shoot a sob story of someone who mercilessly takes away from the environment you so cherish. perhaps you should do a little research on what our oceans will look like in 30 years thanks to humans and their diets/addiction. and if you did a little more research you'd realize what peta and greenpeace fight for tend to overlap (i.e. research peta's 'meats not green' campaign, meathead).

Thats like saying lets stop eating meat. Lets destroy the rainforest so we can farm more soy beans or wheat to make more seitan.

The problem is the sea microorganisms that absorb more than 60% of the air CO2; its the complete destruction of the marine food chain, from the microorganisms to large fish and mammals that feed on it or feed on animals that feed on it. Including the destriction sea algaes that vegetarians like to heat.

@yoshimine5 omfg u did not just say that deforestation is caused by vegetarians. over 60% of cropland is dedicated to livestock. it takes roughly 16 lbs of grain to produce one pound of meat. if you and everyone else wasn't so addicted to dead flesh, we could easily grow all the crops we needed in america for human consumption.

and yes we need to stop using fossil fuel..i'm all about being green :)

just remember going veg is arguably the most green thing u can do! (read the omnivore's dilemma).
