You should add the clip of Justin Allgaier winning at Chicago when he ran out of gas. Here's why:
It was Bayne's 1st race after his illness. As Allgaier is slowing, a white car is coming out of 4. And it beats Allgaier to the line. Marty Reid thinks it is Bayne although it's actually a lapped car. He then says "And Trevor Bayne wins! Oh no! Allgaier wins! Bayne finishes fourth!"
I couldn't agree more. ESPN coverage is terrible. TNT that only does a few races a year makes them look bad; and FOX is in a completely different league.
I'm always amazed when ESPN race coverage team seem to not be watching the race. One of them will start talking about something and it doesn't matter anymore what happening on the track. Cars wrecking and their talking about something else. They frequently don't seem to know what to say so they just repeat each. More TNT or FOX less ESPN.
@tvnewsguy42 Marty Reid is actually a great announcer, and I'm not just saying that because of how he handled Wheldon's passing. I'd certainly rather Marty Reid than Rusty "Right Now" Wallace.
@MrZippy2112 yes i cant believe they didnt get the sadler wreck at pocono however allen bestwick is okay, the bad announcers are (from all stations) Marty Reid Kyle Petty (that's incredible) Jerry Punch (heavy contact...) Wally Dallenbach Vince Welch Shannon Spake Dave Burns Tim Brewer Rusty Wallace Andy Petree
ESPN is a bunch of retards trying to put on a show. Im positively sure a bunch of mentally disabled people could do a better job. Thank god speed is gonna get some races soon. I think nascar finally realized espn cant do this. Occasionally i like to watch nationwide races but theyre on espn2 which gets blacked out every fuckin time. Its a terrible network that should definitely not be on the air!
not to menchen they missed the hardest crash in nascar history ... ( Elliott Sadler at Pocono) i feel like fox puts on a much better show i wish they took all 36 races
i miss the old nascar on espn. none of the people who brawdcast nascar either on espn or any other network do it for me. except mike joy and kyle petty. i'd get rid of em all and put john heindaugh and the rest of the radio le mans teem in. we need some new faces anyway

what they should do is take out dale jarret and andy petrea out of the booth and put them in the pit studio and put in ricky craven and rusty wallace in the booth
@TantalizingBeauty87 No keep Rusty out of the booth, DJ's fine there. And especially keep Rusty out of the booth for Nationwide races, nothing worse than Rusty cheer-leading that no talent kid of his.
I think I remember a year ago in the Nationwide race at Indy Raceway Park Ron Hornaday was running third and then got in a wreck and ESPN didn't have a single video of it. Good lord, it isn't even a mile track and you don't have any cameras covering the third place car going through traffic? Motion sensor cameras would be able to capture more than ESPN's current cameras. But quite honestly, I think all of the coverage is worst than it was 10 years ago.
why do they just let fox do the every race tnt is ok not good but espn flat out SUCKS most of the time i do not even watch the race when it is on espn cus it sucks sp much
I don't what you guys are trying to get across, I don't give a fuck the mistake the make and the mispronounces whatever, I just want to be entertain during the race. heck those were really funny quotes that makes for fun environment not like FOX which I don't know why people claim is the best but in my opinion suxks, "Digger" what fuck is that.

I really hate the ESPN and TNN announcers. When will ESPN learn that if you put a tie on a Monkey, it is still a Monkey. Fox has much better talent. Petty, doc, Rusty are all awful. Give me DW and the Fox announcers anyday of the week. This is why I hate the 2nd half of the season because I hate listening to them and their camera coverage also sucks!!
NASCAR ON ESPN SUCKSSSSSSSSSSSSS AAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS.
Kinda disagree about the older Nascar races before the 2000s. Pretty much nowadays on the other hand, totally agree. Rusty should really be the last person to call anyone stupid considering how badly he screws up.
I wish FOX and SPEED could cover the whole season. Man that would be awesome.
ESPN/ABC just sucks. The least they could do is put Bestwick up in the booth and fire that dumbo Marty Reid (AND THE 2011 NASCAR NATIONWIDE SERIES ISSSS GREEEEN) but they won't even do that. I hope ESPN doesn't even bid to host races next time the contract is up.
TNT is alright, but Adam Alexander gets on my nerves sometimes and it hasn't been the same without Benny. RIP BP
@HadesRacing Yeah, bring back NBC, and I'd LOVE to see NASCAR on VS. At least ESPN made ONE good move by putting Alan Bestwick in the booth. Alan made the mistake when he laughed, but thats about the only one he's ever made.
Good thinking ESPN staffers, don't not come up with a system that everyone can understand, make up a system that would make Einstein scratch his head trying to figure out your shitty idea. GRRRRRRR Now he is just a has been like me. I used to change tires with a T-Handle. Yes I did.
TNT and Sppeed do the best jobs. Fox doesn't even allow the reporters to talk to the guys. Just need better producers. I went to school for this shit and I have to laugh at the mistakes. Who do they hire to run theses races fgrade school kids. Lets go with TNT, Speed and Versus.!!! PLEASE Fox also sucks gus, really.
FOX covering NASCAR the whole season would be a problem. The reason for that is because it can easily interfere with the NFL games in the fall, which is now the biggest sport in the U.S. You would have a lot of ticked off fans if that was the case. IMO, I think the TV schedule should be the same way as it was before ESPN came aboard. TNT and FOX broadcasts the Daytona 500 once every two years. FOX covers the 1st half of the season, and TNT covers the 2nd half.
@RealRacer2442 NBC would have gotten a part of the current deal but they settled for the NFL instead. If NBC maned up more money in the deal we wouldn't have had to deal with ESPN. NASCAR was still on a high before the old TV deal expired.
I pretty much agree that TNT and FOX should carry the season.
@RealRacer2442 Well then here's an idea: the first half of the season on FOX, then the all-star races and second half on Speed Channel. If you think, that's pretty much letting FOX have the whole season, because the guys from FOX are on Speed Channel, too.
@nascarfanatic2425 Hmm. I like that idea. Well, being that the comment I made before ESPN decided to put Allen Bestwick in the booth for the sprint cup races (while the broadcasting has been getting better since), I think having some races on espn doesn't hurt as much as it used to.
@RealRacer2442 True, and as for Alan, well, when he screws up, that's a result of being surrounded by idiots for more than 2 weeks. Trust me, I know from experiece. lol But seriously, ESPN still stinks, but that was a good move to but Alan in the booth. He was the best commentator on NBC/TNT besides BP back when NBC did the races, and then NBC replaced Alan in the booth with Bill Webber. What the hell were they smokin?!!
@nascarfanatic2425 Yeah. And now Bill Webber's gone. So much for that. lol. I do agree that Alan screws up but at least he admits them, unlike most of the other commentators.
@RealRacer2442 Well that just shows you the proffessionalism in Alan. lol Yeah, I'm glad Webber's gone, 'cause I never initially liked him to begin with. The expressions on his face and his tone of voice always made him seem like a complete dick.
I do think that 0:35 isn't really a fault by ESPN or the broadcasting team. Jamie Little is reporting on something, and quite obviously, she isn't aware of the debris. They just let her finish before they "noticed" it, which they said they did at the same time we all did.
Still, I thought it was funny to see Jerry Punch in the booth in that 80's Phoenix clip, and he still sucked in the booth. Staying on pit road is what he should do, and Bestwick in the booth.
I just wish Mike Joy would stop making NASCAR seem like pee-wee cheer-leading. He seriously makes this sound like a homosexual sport. And DW isn't exactly consistent in his quality either. Boogity boogity boogity has to go.... and so does digger.
That last clip was LOL. Old ESPN was awesome, I can't believe you used it for this video. Allen Bestwick's mistakes are more funny cuz he corrects them and they occur at not very important times. They sure make a lot of mistakes now days. I think we should have FOX doing 17 races, TNT doing 6 races, and ESPN with 13 races. All Truck races on ESPN and Nationwide races follow whatever tv station the Cup Series is on. Thumbs up if you like this idea.
There was a horrible flip in the busch series in the early 200's or late 90's where someone flipped at daytona and their car was just as ripped apart as Brett Bodine's truck after his horrible daytona crash.
ESPN got no view of the crash, just the car coming to a halt.
@STICKGUYMB: That would be the Dash series race at Daytona in '99.
Also think about Elliot Sadler's wreck in Pocono. We NEVER found out why he spun... I think it took days to find out (if I remember well) that he checked up and Allmendinger couldn't miss him and turned him inadvertently...
what race was the wreck at 0:18 from? i've been looking all over youtube for it. also, just ignore my last comment. idk how it even got posted.

2:41 This is Nascar not the NBA.
I want the entire ESPN staff fired ASAP.

NASCAR on FOX and SPEED = epic WIN, NASCAR on ESPN = epic FAIL
FOX and SPEED just make the races so much more entertaining.

@non507 Mike Joy sucks.

RealRacer2442 10 months ago
@RealRacer2442 NBC would have gotten a part of the current deal but they settled for the NFL instead. If NBC maned up more money in the deal we wouldn't have had to deal with ESPN. NASCAR was still on a high before the old TV deal expired.
I pretty much agree that TNT and FOX should carry the season.
combatking20 10 months ago
@RealRacer2442 Well then here's an idea: the first half of the season on FOX, then the all-star races and second half on Speed Channel. If you think, that's pretty much letting FOX have the whole season, because the guys from FOX are on Speed Channel, too.
nascarfanatic2425 6 months ago
@nascarfanatic2425 Hmm. I like that idea. Well, being that the comment I made before ESPN decided to put Allen Bestwick in the booth for the sprint cup races (while the broadcasting has been getting better since), I think having some races on espn doesn't hurt as much as it used to.
RealRacer2442 6 months ago
@RealRacer2442 True, and as for Alan, well, when he screws up, that's a result of being surrounded by idiots for more than 2 weeks. Trust me, I know from experiece. lol But seriously, ESPN still stinks, but that was a good move to but Alan in the booth. He was the best commentator on NBC/TNT besides BP back when NBC did the races, and then NBC replaced Alan in the booth with Bill Webber. What the hell were they smokin?!!
nascarfanatic2425 6 months ago
@nascarfanatic2425 Yeah. And now Bill Webber's gone. So much for that. lol. I do agree that Alan screws up but at least he admits them, unlike most of the other commentators.
RealRacer2442 6 months ago
@RealRacer2442 Well that just shows you the proffessionalism in Alan. lol Yeah, I'm glad Webber's gone, 'cause I never initially liked him to begin with. The expressions on his face and his tone of voice always made him seem like a complete dick.

I LOL'd... pretty great.

At least ESPN Speed World was halfway decent!

I just wish Mike Joy would stop making NASCAR seem like pee-wee cheer-leading. He seriously makes this sound like a homosexual sport. And DW isn't exactly consistent in his quality either. Boogity boogity boogity has to go.... and so does digger.

I wish all 3 networks would get new announcers. I don't like Fox, TNT, or ESPN one right now.

At least Alan can brush off a mistake, the others make a mistake and then just build on it to make an even more glorious fail.

Leave it to Montoya to tell it like it is, lol
mystrsyko 10 months ago 3
That last clip was LOL. Old ESPN was awesome, I can't believe you used it for this video. Allen Bestwick's mistakes are more funny cuz he corrects them and they occur at not very important times. They sure make a lot of mistakes now days. I think we should have FOX doing 17 races, TNT doing 6 races, and ESPN with 13 races. All Truck races on ESPN and Nationwide races follow whatever tv station the Cup Series is on. Thumbs up if you like this idea.
racing202 10 months ago
Thanks for all the comments guys. In my opinion, FOX should do races 1-13, let TNT have races 14-19, and FOX also do races 20-36.

Devin14conrailOS 10 months ago
There was a horrible flip in the busch series in the early 200's or late 90's where someone flipped at daytona and their car was just as ripped apart as Brett Bodine's truck after his horrible daytona crash.
ESPN got no view of the crash, just the car coming to a halt.
STICKGUYMB 10 months ago
@STICKGUYMB: I think you're talking about Danny Bagwell's crash, in the 1999 Busch or ARCA race (one of the 2, I'll check).
PhilipTheBigOne 10 months ago
@STICKGUYMB: That would be the Dash series race at Daytona in '99.
Also think about Elliot Sadler's wreck in Pocono. We NEVER found out why he spun... I think it took days to find out (if I remember well) that he checked up and Allmendinger couldn't miss him and turned him inadvertently...
