And per se, I said that his pinoy fans are proud of him too because of his success story-rugs to riches. Well, I think FY word isn't what the professionals are using & they don't say it. But anyway, I was watching the concert last aug. 6, it was really amazing, wish to see them again next time. Corrupt country? I don't think of any country who are not corrupt. My tv is on day and night for news, don't you? Didn't you see, read, or heard the news that many people were arrested in connection to corruption in our country? Can you name one country you knew is clean? Lyrics? Arnel's success in music is obviously great but it is very small for the principle of filipino race. I am proud of my race because it is me. It is my own skin, flesh, blood, bone. I'm proud because of my culture, my heritage, my traditions and filipinos are known for family values.

Be proud for whatever reason you want to be proud of. For the rest of them, let them be proud for whatever reason as well. But let me tell you, they are as much proud of their Filipino blood as you are. And did you notice, Americans and the rest of the world are carrying and waving their own country's flags at the Olympic opening? What that does denote? For sure if the Americans win in whatever sport, every American will be proud that they are Americans, for the reason that they excelled in it.

gorengyan...The word "stupid" maybe too harsh to be used I admit. It's YT you know. But the point that many pinoys are using the expression "Proud to be pinoy" in relation to Arnel Pineda is still not correct in my opinion. First of all, This is not a contest and cannot be compared to olympic. It is a show business FGS.
Unfortunately, The misconception to my opinion (I believe) is the subject of being proud which is not correct. My real point is our respect to other races. (cont.)

shucks! I havent' checked this email account for a long time. Pre, indeed, exactly what I said, if people can show pride in movies and its creation thereof, what more for Arnel. And per se, I said that his pinoy fans are proud of him too because of his success story-rugs to riches. The reason being is a lot of them can relate to a dark part of his life because many of his pinoy fans are destitute, poor. He has risen above his dark past to embrace the glory of his success.

Do you really think the poorest of the poor sleep well with no food to eat, no clothes on their back, no shelter over their heads? Yes, heaven has a place for them but my point is don't downplay poverty. There's nothing more heartbreaking than seeing children beg and sleep on the streets or in the sewers; thinking if they will ever see tomorrow's daylight. I think it's just annoying to other people, and sees it as being an Elitist. I guess I'd be annoyed if people kept saying "proud to be Portuguese" in every Steve Perry video. My opinion is this, I can't be proud of something I didn't accomplish. Being born a Filipino is an accident, just like being tall. If I accomplish something, then I'd be proud of that accomplishment. Again, this is just my opinion.

They have the largest economy, Military superiority, The most circulated money in the entire planet, natural resources, vast arable land coast to coast, highest in agriculture, highest average education, high standard of living, the biggest in financial support to poor countries etc. FYI. They deserve to be called The Greatest.
