Having shows like these are a major part of why Mario and other characters are so popular today. We, the public, played the games AND watched the shows and became one with the culture. Now we're in our 20's and these big companies have us to thank. Nowadays these young kids can only experience Mario through video games, and the company wonder why the product isn't selling. REMEMBER, we had the real life Mario Bros movie, too! No one cared if it wasn't perfect, just give us more Mario.

Out of curiosity, have you ever watched the show? There were live-action portions and segments in the beginning and at the end (not referring to intro/outro) of the show. After the plot or whatever for the live-action part, they show the Mario Bros cartoon and depending on the day, Legend of Zelda.

The live-action portions are hard to remember...although, the main one I do remember, was the ep where the wrestler, Sgt. Slaughter was on it. Ironic considering that Lou Albano played Mario.

For Mario, King Koopa would be Bowser, Toadstool would be called Peach Toadstoal & would be blond, Toad would just be there--since he didn't do much, even in the game he starred in--and there'd be more goombas & Koopa troopers. For Sonic, the scenes would be more tripped out, Tails would be even more of a burden, the Freedom Fighters & Snively wouldn't exist, Sally would be a male named Ricky, et al.

I used to have this show on DVD. It was utter crap, but at the same time, oh so good. There is an episode, where in the live-action intro, Mario has some spaghetti on him. Luigi is like, "Mario, you have some spaghetti on your overalls."
