I got the English version too and I think they changed the animation in it, which I don't like. It's especially noticeable in the final part of the movie.
ETA Hoffman's original has more fights and battles and explains how the Nutcracker came to be and it actually ends with Clara and the Nutcracker prince getting married. Tchaikovsky introduces elements like the Sugarplum fairy and the more famous dances. I tend to like ETA Hoffman's version better because I like the ending better.
ok I just have one question...WHY is there so much more animation in this version than in the english? I own this movie in english and there are less scenes than in this one. why were they cut out??? they would have worked in english too! this one was soooooo much better!
@SxyChicDisney Don't know, maybe because russian is the original language of this ballet...? :) And anyway Hollywood and Disney loves to change the original storyline so that it has more action.
well yeah I understand why it is in russian, and I'm fine with that....and the version I have isn't disney. but I am just frustrated that I have this movie, yet at the same time I really don't have nearly the whole thing. It's like my version is unfinished
And btw, i beg my pardon...: the original language of this tale was german, and it was written by a german author... Just later Tchaikovsky made it popular by writing a ballet based on it. I first thought Tchaikovsky also wrote the story, but i was wrong :)
it is this same exact movie, just translated into english. I was just confused because not all of the animation in this was included in the dvd that I have, when it easily could have been translated. yeah...the author was ETA Hoffman, who was german. tchaikovsky didn't rewrite the story, he wrote the music for the ballet
You know I may not understand a word they said, but I got the feel of this movie and I love it! The Nutcracker has always been my favorite Christmas tale. I do wonder though if Marsha and the prince admitted they loved each other, even if not to each other. Thanks for uploading this.
очередной раз убеждаешься что лучше советских мультиков нету!!!

This new version of the cartoon is trash compared to the original (IMO). It's a terrible cartoon.

Вы должны предоставить этот фильм с английскими субтитрами. Не все понимают русский язык.
