Badass snake... I own one myself. Ive had it for about 4 months. Coolest little snake. Just got it eating pinky mice. I had to catch green tree frogs every week for a while now. I tried tons of mice, lizards, crickets, toads, and a fish believe it or not. And i only just now got it to eat a pinky.
got a warning bite from a little CH between the thumb and finger as i tried to remove it from my deck. i had to unhook the fangs from my hand to get it off me! did have some localized swelling and aching for a few hours nothing major. i didn't kill it since i live in its environment and they kill pests. use a hook do not mess with snakes take my word they can be tricky little bastards!!!
I like the way you said that bigger, more mature snakes will inject less venom than juveniles has a warning bite so they can get out of there because when I was bit by a 5 ft long, roughly 6 pounds, very old, Cottonmouth, it only inject a little venom through one fang into my hand giving me only a little localized swelling.
While cutting firewood in Ohio I picked up a log and found 4 small copperheads! I just let them go but sure caught hell from my buddies for not killing them. What do you think!
if I were u, I would have washed it alive, put it in sake (japanese rice wine) and keep it in a dark, cool, place for 5 years. And put alcohol remover and drink it. That is a traditional drink, and it is said to give power
"Don't drop me, don't drop me, don't drop me!"
Wow, they're tiny at that age. He has very nice markings. I can see him being a nice pink and bronze as an adult.
It's the gangrene that scares me most. That's the problem with hemotoxic venom. It puts you at high risk for infection.
