How appropriate of a name for this song, I believe it means "little girl of the sea." It almost sounds like a little girl's music box, and I can imagine looking up at the sun from under the waves, and feeling peaceful and warm, like a child in in her parents arms.

Reminds me of when my now wife and I were courting in the seventies and we used to go regularly to the magnolia cafe in Blackpool pleasure beach. The tables overlooked the river caves and a similar tune to this played all the time. You would have to go there to appreciate it. i believe it is still much the same only now you have to pay to get in!

AdA is the best album of Vangelis IMHO. Simplicity and naked melody lines, hearbreaking, piercing to the core of feelings, very telling. There are times when I can't hear them in fear of their depressive influence.
