Me and my shoemaker uncle are in a facebook debate right now over whether or not mushrooms should be eaten based on he see's no animals eat them and he thinks they slow us down, I told him about this squirrel, now we're debating if it would be using it for medicine or food... so I had to come find it! well to his credit most shelf mushrooms are pretty woody and medicinal haha
@GoldenFinchFellow Animals don't often cook their food, but that hasn't stopped us. Maybe your uncle just doesn't like mushrooms. On the other hand, relying on the wisdom of a squirrel could leave you on a shaky limb, metaphorically speaking.
i hate the cold...i was born in south america and though iv been in ny for many year i still cant get over the cold...but watching it on your video well im alright with it...:)...plus the photage you caught of the ducks and squirrels was awsome
I like the winter. I can deal with the cold, as long as it's not windy. But the season lasts too long. I've noticed that a lot of people can handle winter okay, if it's just in a video. :D
I have an idea for a fake spring video that I'll post tonight if things work out. Cheers!
thats got to be one of the best ratio's on the tube!

as for the imagery, beautiful as always, its getting chilly in the uk now, with snow etc. so hopefully we will get something like this in the rural patches.
Nice. The relatively lively music was a good match for the content.
I wonder about the ducks, though. If they stay too long, don't they risk not being able to fly south, then dying from cold? Whoever is feeding them might not be doing them a favor by encouraging them to stay longer.
I had the same thoughts about feeding the ducks. The largest varieties of Canada geese aren't migratory, and winter here all the time, but I thought the ducks should all be gone by now.
Hey, thanks! The ducks and the squirrels are considerate enough to pose for the camera, but the cardinals are more elusive. There were chickadees around too, but I didn't get any good shots of them.
The ducks seemed to handle the ice pretty well. I keep thinking they should have gone south by now though.
I wanted to get more shots of the cardinals, but they don't stay still for very long. I have lots of footage where I'm swinging the camera to the place a cardinal used to be. :)

Thanks! I have a select group of viewers who are willing to chat. Half the comments are from me though...
Had to read the squirrel comment twice. First time, I thought you wanted one as a pelt. Not nice. :-s
They are loads of fun to watch, so maybe I'll try to record them some more.

I think the females are prettier, at least up close. The pattern in the feathers is so intricate.

Man lucky squirrel found the jackpot there, it'll be well fed for a good amount of time! Thanks for sharing:)

Yeah, he seemed quite happy with his discovery. Food that makes climbing easier -- what more could a squirrel ask for? :)

Ducks require lively music for waddling. :)

Thanks! I plan to fool around with other things once in a while, but I'm most comfortable making nature vids. :)
