They are a great working breed that has been unaccountably neglected in recent years. I think their short coat which limits their resistance to inclement weather has prevented wider use in law enforcement.  Also, health problems plague the breed nowadays, which may also be a factor. But my experience is that a good Doberman can do anything that any other dog can do and in most cases learn to do it faster. They are one of the best working breeds in the world.
