The song in this segment is 'I'LL BE HOME FOR CHRISTMAS. Today Matthew is 15 and his sister is 18. When he got older, she had one great story to tell him.
If the pregnancy is healthy, the doctors may let you fly up until the 8th month. Full term is considered anytime 37 weeks but babies have been known to survive being born as early as 23 weeks but medically they say 24 weeks. My friend who went into perterm labor & lost her twins was 20 weeks along at the time...
When there's any similar emergency and there are no doctors or paramedics available, I suggest looking for a marine safety officer(lifegard) or Red Cross WSI which have training close to paramedics.
you cant say a six month baby wont live, you dont know that, i have proof , i had 2 babies born at 6 months weighing exactly 1 lb ( he passed away at 5 days) and 1 lb 6 oz, hes now 7 months old.
actually, my uncle who didnt even reach his 6th month (he was born after 5 and a half) survived. he was born in 1962. He was born so early because my grandmother smoked. he had some developmental problems, but after he was born, he didnt have any physical defects
actually, my uncle was born at 5 and 1/2 months.....he was born so early because my grandmother smoked. he did show some developmental problems later in life, but as far as physical defects go, he had no problems.
i was born 3 months premature and was in an incubator for more than 4 months. now thats a miracle, im 18 now :) i wonder if that guy got his shoe lace back? lol
OMG I KNO NOONE WILL BELIEVE ME BUT THATZ MY OLDER BROTHER ON THAT PLANE! my dad died a few years after my brother waz born, and i waz only three,i am Isabel Debara!!! plz plz coem to my channel and tell me if u faved this vid! thanx!
LOL! It will be fnny if he grew up to become a pilot hahhah! He was a pretty healthy baby to be 3 months premature! And big too at 4 pounds! Full term babies are 5 to 7 pounds. Bless his little heart! :)
It's easier to remember what APGAR means when you know it's an acronym for the following assessment of a baby at 1, 5 and 10 minutes after his (or her) birth: A = appearance, P = pulse, G = grimace, A = activity, R = respiration.
Yay. Now I know of a baby born on a plane. My dad was born on a boat going around the Statue of Liberty! hehehe and my sister was born in the entrance (almost parking lot) of the hospital.
My sister was literally coming out in the parking lot of the new hospital in our area. She's been rushing ever since...Lol! better than taking 24 hours I guess...
lol, at 4:29 the baby squeals. Right before that, the doctor says "come on baby, come on baby, breathe" and can be clearly seen moving about with his arms and eyes.
wow why in the world would she travel at 6 months in the first place??? But good thing the baby is all right. I bet now her birth c, would say...born in airplane lol
He said APGAR. APGAR is a score/rating that is given to babies at 1 minute of life, and again at 10 minutes of life. 0 is dead and 10 is the best it can be. Every baby's appearance is measured by this scoring system.
Firstly, it's a he. Secondly, I think it would state the airport, not the air but I can ask my father because he's a pilot if you really want to know.
Adding this in because I was finally told. Dad said the birth certificate would place the baby's birthplace as the doctor to sign the document's location. For airplane's though, if the baby is born in mid-air, the records would show either the destination (if the parents can wait that long) or the location of landing for the aircraft. That's where the birth cert. would show birht location. Just so everyone knows! ^^
WTG EVERYONE WHO HELPED OUT!! I have first aid training in childbirth but i hope I never have to deliver a baby! I would if i had to but i hope i never do!
in 1995, i was a flight attendant with Royal Brunei Airlines. after our first service at about three hours, that was on a long haul flight (flight full) from Abu Dhabi to Brunei a man came to the galley and said to our leading steward that his wife was about to deliver. she was in her full term and nobody knew because she was wearing very loose clothing. she was in her full term at 9 mons.
the mother got the baby out in less than 5 mins. it just slipped off. at 230 pax on board only around 10 pax knew about it. we did it with discretion to avoid fuss and panic. we continued the rest of the 8 hour flight taking pictures with the baby that got me on the front page of the BORNEO BULLETIN with 2 of my fellow stewardesses...lol! they continued their flight back home after arrival in brunei to their home in Indonesia. It was a memorable flight.
I was on a plane from Miami when a seven yr old boy had a medical emergency. There were some Drs. coming home from Central America and gave the boy more Tylenol to bring his temp down. It was very scary.
Now a days, very high. I believe that flight attendants must be trained as a first responder now. With 200+ people on an airplane the chances that someone is trained in first aid is very high. The question is how many of those rescuers are going to tell someone they are trained and how many are going to act on it verses just sit there.
Dallas, because he was born there and the people in the hospital called him that before the parents named him. It even says so on the sign above his bed.
.....wow..... you see these things in movies and stuff, but its weird to think it really happens. im glad everything worked out ok for them and their baby.
you can fly, but most OB's reccomend you not fly after 30 weeks, for this reason, but it says that the baby was born early, so she was probably just fine to fly, medically. my wife is 23 weeks and we flew 2 weeks ago... she and the baby are fine.
That is absolutely incredible for that woman to not think twice about sucking placenta fluid through a straw out of the baby's nose...great story! whats the difference between a regular and docu segment allgood?
Wow my friend's baby was born a month early a couple months ago and had to stay in the hospital for 6 weeks. That baby boy is seriously amazing.

Shin, please tell your friend I'm terribly sorry for her loss. I cannot imagine what it is like to lose a child.
You are right-babies can live at 23 weeks. You just need the right physician, staff, and hospital to help them live...and it has happened before.
God bless
