The later AK series, I know the AK47 uses the 7.62mm while the AK74 and it's variants use the 5.45mm but im not an expert so you might wan't to look that up.

Actually, if you had any insight in military ww2 history you'd know that due to sheer luck the American aircraft carriers weren't there during the bombings.

Had they been sunk the US would have had no means of battling the Japanese in the Pacific and it would have turned into an invasion war.

US' greatest strength was that their factories were untouched during the war, allowing them to produce a near excess of war materiel.

- This would NOT have been the case in an invasion war.

Both cartridges are very good but the 5.45 is not a weak bullet it has great wounding effects on a target and comes out of the barrel very fast.
