hi AbbyG113 ive had quite a few different jobs over the years, my last job i was let go in 2010 due to the recession no job since, i am with a supportive employment group who helps people in finding jobs but nothing so far, luckily i have my disability money every week. me and especially my family had a hard time growing up, my dad had an alcohol addiction which caused a lot of problems thankfully thats ok now, i am the youngest.
i do have a fiancee we go out some weekends and we do see each other at this club called the archclub that does on every thursday evening for 2 hours, its a club for people with disabilities, there is different activities such as basketball bowling etc and once every year a weekend trip, for basketball me my fiancee and a few others played for ireland in the 2003 special olympics world summer games in dublin.
hello i live in ireland i am 31 years old i was born with a learning disability, i was slower than the rest of my family, i was 2 years and 2 months before i started walking and i needed speech therapy and i think physio therapy as i was slow with my hands too. i went to a special school from day one, i notice sometimes when im talking to people i find it a little hard to get the words out, and i am slower to grasp things people are explaining to me, but i do drive, i am living with my parents.
i have one to, and i fucking hate it. i feel no motivation in my life, i cant wait until highschool just so i can drop out and smoke weed and live in my parents basement all my life. i dont vwant to be guided all my fucking life by people. i want to live how i want. fuck everyonr and everything. and by the time my parents get sick of me living in the basement my whole life theyll kick me out and il just kill myself immediately. Simple. my plans for the future you have just read. fuck life.
Hey man, you should check out my video. I went through much of the same and I feel for you. My advice is to just ignore those fools who might claim your incapable.
For those students with a learning disability please do the following if school is bad for you. Ask a teacher or counselor at your school to watch this video as a favor to you.Tell them that this video expresses some of the same feelings you are having. If this adult is a decent person, they will try and help you have more success. I am a teacher. Some people do care even if they dont' always seem like it. Give them a try. What can it hurt? You want to be happier don't you?
Really good video. I have a learning disability too. Changing your diet can really help you. Im learning how to cook my own organic meals. Stop eating fruitloops and cornflakes etcc.. most "healthy" cerials with mess with your brain chemistry big time. They are full of sugar, starches, additives that will screw you up. You should be taking fish oils aswell. Eat lots of organic foods, eggs etc.. You can get them at most health food stores or "Farmers markets" where they are cheaper.
@downtownbrown21 I agree. But learning at a slower pace can reap benefits. You're more likely to grasp the whole concept of learning much better than those who learn at a fast pace. Our society is all about fast pace. Moving fast and such--study of many and master of none.
i have Learning Disability. i feel like im the dumbest 16 years old in the world. my teachers made me go to special ed in 7th and 8th grade but every time i hear someone special ed to me i get angry real bad. i just hate that word. i have a Learning Disability in every subject but in math mostly. having Learning Disability is really hard for me. when i got transferred to special ed all of my friends laughed at me and no wanted to talk to me. i just wanted to kill myself.
@ONEffect95 When you get older it will be better. I understand how you felt as I also wanted to killmyself when I was in School. Its not your fault. You can see my video about being "LD", it might make you feel better.
I have struggled with a learning disability in school and still sometimes struggle with my learning disability in college. While preparing for a presentation for one of my classes in the Elementary Education program, I was searching for a good video to try and convey a more in depth view of how a child may feel. This video is excellent and I look forward to sharing it. Thank you :)
I hate people who discriminate against disabilities! People don't seem to understand that we are talented people too. And may I just point out that having a learning disability doesn't mean that you learn slower, it means you learn differently. If these disabilities aren't catered for than you will find it hard to keep up with your class mates in certain things. Also I've discovered going through life that people with the highest marks aren't necessarily the smartest people you'll ever meet.
@Bloodshotshatterbone I agree. Having high grades doesn't mean you are intelligent, gifted, hardworking, loving, highly evolved, or a great person especially with today's crappy school system. I also have a learning disability with verbal and vocabulary skills and I was bullied most of my life. You can have low or average grades and still be talented and hardworking. These stuck up dumb kids only have their grades and diplomas to show because they have nothing else to bring to the table.
I have a learning disability too and it caused me to get held back. I have a hard time copying stuff from the board and i have dysgraphia. I had a learning disabilty in reading and english till i got into 8th grade but i still wasnt at my level. It frustrates me but its awesome to know that i have one of the highest grade in my algebra class :) keep trying is all i can say and do !
i have a learning disability mostly on math and all i have to say it really sucks having this disorder especially with a single mom who didn't even know i had it and that didn't know i had to go to special ed FOR 4 YEARS. I still have this and i get amazing grades on my other subjects except for math. I've been teased for going to special ed but i didn't give a rats ass the only thing i cared is that i could never do good in math.
This kid is lucky for having parents that are supportive. I am learning disabled, but my parents cares too much of what other people think. So they just tell me that there's nothing wrong with me and they treats me like a small child.
However I find myself feeling frustrated with my fiance, cause I'am alot slower than him in anything and everything else but school and always ask come again to comprenend at times, its embarressing and he doesn't understand at times. oyi -_-
@cierragarcia34 i have a learning disablity to and i play basketball for the special olympics and i love it im just sick of people being mean to me cos of my disablity
AWESOME VIDEO!!! THANKS FOR POSTING!! I am in college (still / again) and despite being known as "the girl who asks a MILLION questions..." I managed to acquire the 2nd highest grade in the ENTIRE physics dept.! (ha ha my instructor even seemed a bit... SHOCKED).
And YEAH- that foot tapping, pencil clicking, really ANY little noise DRIVE ME NUTS! I HEAR EVERYTHING!
@MELLOGURLY yah i beat all the normal kids during the my CPR/AED test i had the highest in the class i had highest mark in the my Geography exam in the end of the day i wonder why the fuck do teachers tell us were not capable of doing this or that when there are kids who are failing exams doing horrible and hate school and they are not in special ED and they think they are gifted and make fun of us
For those of us with L.D.,which did/do you find harder-getting through school,(public, privete, college),or trying to maintain a job/career? I got through public schooling, bombed out in college, and have lost more jobs in my life, since high school, than I have fingers on my hands, all due to my L.D.
@recoverfromhydro I understand how you feel.I am LD in 1979 my local community college told me to drop out and never come back all because I have LD. Jobs were difficult.People made fun of me being slow.My boss says you can't go through life using your LD as an excuse.Find something else to do. I have faced discrimination all my life.
I was picked on sence the 1st grade due to disabled problems and they say I run funny. I will now be a senior next year and this kid in my 1st period class just wont leave me alone. He calls me retarded, he says his 2 year old sister is smarter then me, and he cussed and hit a teacher who stuck up for me and the situation. But they say sence he has anger problems they "will not" do anything for punishment. I beg my mom not to go to school because of this kid. I just want to be left alone!
i used to get mad at myself and ask "why was i born so stupid?" kids at school would call me retarded and my teachers would treat me like i was. i just take a longer time to learn and i learn differently then others but I'm not stupid. in the 6th grade i made honor roll in the 7th grade i made honor roll again and again in 8th grade i am now in the 9th grade and guess what? i made honor roll again :) learning disability? yeah i have one. i just don't let it bring me down.
we have to accept there are some people who will never do well in school regardless of the help they recieve. I have tried improving my written work for nearly 20 years but it is still the same as when i was 10. I have accepted youre genetics are what makes you the person you are. however society should give people more of a chance to earn money and pay bills as i am still capable of physically moving things and its not like im a retard. there just isnt enough jobs to go around
I have had a learning disability my whole life.I been in special ed from the time i was 7 til 19,in the 12 grade.I felt alot like how this guy felt, like everybody seems smarter than me,brighter.I always have been picked on,teased.Because i was bigger, taller than most of the other kids in class i was made out of a joke. Also that fact that i have a unique square shape head soo the kids would tease me and say how can you be soo dumb with a head like that you should have hell of brain.
@jamare456 Life sucked for me from the time when i was a child.I still can't forget the passed sometimes i wanted kill myself(still do sometimes now) im in college now but im struggling to get passed Phonics in my reading class i guess im just being to lazy to go get help.Im not gone lie i wanna quit school because it seems too hard but im not gone quit tho! il be alright.
@jamare456 aw its okay...same with me :( it takes so long to do something but I dont know how to make sense and I don't use commas and people says I am annoying and ugly
4 years ago I was in a fatal car accident that resulted in me being in a coma and paralyzing one of my arms.
For the last 4 years I have only focused on the physical recovery-mostly because I wasnt cognitive enough to be fully aware of the brain injury aspect; until about a month ago.
this sucks!...Im a hypocrite because prior to this injury I really didnt give a "what" for anyone with a learning disability.
what sucks most: Im BOTH physically and learning disabled.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I think school systems should not waste money on trying to educate special needs kids. Its not like they will ever have a real job or contribute to society.
Not everyone with learning disablities necessarily learns at a slower rate me for explame I have a mild case of CAPD if I have a quite area and teach me I learn just as fast as my peers sometimes faster than my peers. This being said I also have mild CP, it's going to take me a long time to get my driver's liscense and doing things such as cooking will always be harder for me even though I know exactly what do in my mind during these task I can't always get my muscles to do them.
I've only been able to BARELY get through high school, being unable to read or learn things quickly ruins all, employment possibilities, ability to succeed in even trigonometry, meeting standards is a joke unless you're chemically stable.
I wish I could call it laziness but no- it's ADHD, it's too drawn out- now my friends who have actually graduated college are saying I shouldn't take Adderall. Then what motivation would I have?
But yeah, get rid of the time limit, we need more time!
Why do people say special education is a waste of taxpayers money and we should not be educated because its not like we will never amount to anything in life.People who say this are adults who never had a special needs kids and don't understand.
On other special ed videos I can't beleive the things people say about us.They are cruel and mean comments.I don't respond back because why feed the troll.
@59jjflash I gave up on myself long time ago because of people like you.Teachers, reading specialists, community colleges told me I have no right to an education ,I will never go to school again because I don't belong there,I have no right to go to college with my LD.So you can be happy with your comments.
@doulasc your fucking asshole i was in speical needs class and by the way i am nurse so you better pray you don't cross my path i well make sure you get worst patient care.
@bartman1238 you meant this comment for 59jjflash,he is the one making the comments at me and I am responding to him. I was being sarcastic with 59jjflash.
Learn how visual attention works, what happens when it fails, and how it leads to learning disabilities: search "Dr. Laurie Cestnick" and "harvard university" for a video. MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Hi. I have NLD. I am 35 now and was diagnosed at age 27. I found the first 4 and half minutes or so of this video very difficult to watch because it resembles my experiences in school way too closely. It also made me feel angry as I was never diagnosed during my school years and had to endure being black-listed as lazy and not caring by teachers and parents alike.
I am a dad of a ADHD 16 year old daughter. Fortunately, we have had the good fortune of attending the Shelton School here in Dallas. The school is a school designed for "learning different" students.
I am on a personal campaign to stop using the negative phrase "learning disabilities" but rather "learning differences" or "learning challenges". Another thought to remember is "Great minds do think differently"...we need to educate others that ADHD has nothing to do with "intelligence".
I felt like this when I was your age. I just got diagnosed and I am 28. Talk about hard to learn about. Came across your video and it just reminds me of me when I was your age. You explained me. I wish people would have payed more attention when I was younger.
i have a learning disability also i feel the same way you do when i got my drivers license it seemed like the best day of my life...and almost every day in school when all the other students are understanding everything i always have to ask for help...im a junior in high school but im going to graduate next year mid term...i feel almost confident that i can do it but when im in class it's reall hard and i feel like i can't do it...i just hope i can thow...that my goal
This is a good documentary about folks with learning disabilities. I'm sure it's a lot rougher than when i was in school. Students bullying, teasing, and calling you names.
Try to do what makes you feel good like sports, exercising.
Talk to people everyday. We are fallible human beings so aren't perfect. When people don't accept you, that person is visualizing thoughts in their head about you. That doesn't mean you are that person.
Excuse yourself from negativity and do something positive.
Yes, me too. I am the same way. Now I'm 30 years old and I've still not found where I belong. The adult world is too fast for me. You have the advantage of being young. Get as much career counseling as possible and develop your talents.
I had LD,In 1971 in the 6th grade my teacher said there was no such thing as a learning disability and that was a excuse for me not trying. One day Mrs deGroot
made me write on the chalk board 100 times "There is no such thing as a Learning Disability". Lets see a teacher get away with that today.
I understand what your going threw. I myself have a learning disability i struggled there school in everything. There are times when the teacher her self did not even teach anything to US. Sometime i thought i waisting my time going. Getting picked on bullying around. Getting called Stupid. Hurt a lot. I did gad from school in 1993 with an IEP diploma . With every thing that went on in my life i suffer from depression and i have Bi-Polar it still hurts till this day in what i went thew .
Man I'm really not alone you know watching this video made me cry because I have LD and I'm going through the same thing. When I'm in class I always feel like everyone is smarter then me and I hate the feeling people tell me I'm smart but knowing that I'm have LD it's hard to believe that I am. Everytime I take a test I always do my best and of doing my best all I get is 55-65 but I never give up and never failed a class. Thank you so much for this video it's change me in to a better person.
Thanks for posting this. I can understand what you went through. I was attending college after I got my G.E.D but things didn't work out because I couldn't keep up or focus on a book long assignment in one day. But I know I've made some improve but I still bothered with time managment with assignments and understanding things. I hope you got where you wanted to be,
@AngryActivist45 everything you said in that is my life at school they make you feel like your not good enough and make you feel like your stuiped i have a class at my school that people think are for people that are not smart... i hope what you said about we will make it is true
@AngryActivist45 It's not quite the same of learning slowly. The thing is, the world won't adjust for someone with a learning disability. YOU have to adjust to the world. I have a learning disability. People don't understand that it's very difficult to learn when a teacher is explaining your homework or class work in a way you can't understand. It's like when you flip through your radio and you come accross stations that are staticky and voices are distorted. The whole message gets mixed up.
This video Motivated me so so much. I am going to be a Freshmen at College. I struggle with math. I always get nervous when someone is talking about math problems. This made Video made me believe that i can achieve what teachers and people cay i can't. Thanks man
Hang in there champ. I have learning disabilities too. I'm in my 4th year at college. You just have to believe in yourself even if no one else does. It sounds cheesey but it true.
Even though I have a learning disability, I still managed to graduate high school and get an associates in graphic design. However, this learning disability has prevented me from getting a job my parents hold this negative views towards people with learning disabilities. Basically they believe in all of the misconceptions about those with learning disabilities religiously.
I suffered though school with all my life.I only made honor roll all year once(6th grade).I haven't made it once since 8th grade.I made way lower grades than most people at my grade level.I might not even make it to college.
i got tested in grade 6 to see my level where my learning rate is. I found out i was where a grade 4 kid should be.. i know JUST HOW U FEEL. this honestly felt like u were talking about my life as well as yours.
I hate having a learning disability too. I was not diagnosed till 8th grade. I am now in the middle of college. I was only accepted to one college. I just received my associates and am getting my bachelor's soon.;
Living with a learning disability sucks ,I'd rather have the brains and go to a great university like my younger sister who is middle child ,if i didn't have a learning disability i probably can do sooooooo much more ,I am so sick and tired of it already
This almost made me cry. My son has Aspergers and he is very smart, but he is bullied and feels different from everyone else. He learns differently from others as well. Thank you for sharing your story.
People often confuse LD with having a low IQ, however, this is not the case. The term is "mental retardation" and is a term that is used with special education for those with low IQs. If we had low IQs then we would be labeled as "retarded" instead of LD.
@imanerd36 LD is different form mental retardation. LD has difficulty in some areas like dyslexia and others while MR like hydrocephalus. Thats what i understand
I use to get bullied, called stupid and everything. The teachers would say," What do you want to do in life? " I reply by saying," I want to be a Computer Programmer," and the looks would be disappointment, because of my mathematical level was poor ( most likely below average ). All of my friends I knew were extremely smart and graduated to higher levels. Sometimes I'd skip school, because nobody really didn't care at all.
=( i feel missunderstood w/ a learning disability no one ever seems 2 ever give a ever 2 help me understand a single thing im amazed at the fact im able to type
and read on the computer but i a book now thats a disaster zone for me
plz if u read this try helping a ld persion it might make there day a bit easier then feeling like the rejected lone wolf not a fun part 2 have in life
@lebhotshorty ty for the offer but due 2 the unfortunet glich im unable 2 fix im not able 2 read my mail unless its comments il send ya a friend request
Having a Learning Disability does NOT give others the right to label us Retarded.
I wish they would get that word obilterated from our language/dictionary.
I got talked about alot when I was in school and that word was used at my expense.
I didn't have any real friends in school and I don't have any now.
That word is so over-used.
I work for a company that is supposed to help those with disabilities, but the words "Retarded" and "Citizens" are part of the company's name. How about that.
@kd4adv "I wish they would get that word obilterated from our language/dictionary." Unfortunately, there will always people out there who view us as a bunch of "retards" who don't belong in society. Hell, it's the year 2010, and racism and homophobia exist. I have nothing but contempt for bigots and those who are willingly ignorant.
@kd4adv the worst part is there are kids with learning disabilities who never get diagnosed and they are the ones bullying us i heard from a teacher myself he was a really good teacher he wanted to get me out of special ED but i never got out my own special ED teacher didn't let me out in the end i got fucked over Special ED teachers don't know what there doing because they were never in Special ED
I can tell your video came from within! I'm sure it is difficult to live everyday with a learning disability. The most important thing for you to remember is you are so intelligent, and have so much potential and I know you can be successful. Listen to your mother's advice and take it slow, you will achieve! Everything that you thought wasn't possible is possible!
i have a LD im a loaner i really have no friends i also never get in lots of relationships with girls i only had 6 Gfs and yea it sucks i sometimes feel like comitting sucide but i cant! also i cant focus really well in class and i forget a lots of things fast!
@residentevil5fan18 I know how that feels, I had very few friends, people bullied me and never talked to me because of how quite and poor social skills and Learning dificulty I have. people treated me differently due to how I found school work hard. In the past it got out off hand were it led me to think I'm worthless and Im better off dead.
man i have a LD where i forget stuff right away and dont focus i could study for a test for a hour then i forget the answers and yes i hate it and it make me wanna commited sucide! i feel like im not gunna get a job!
It can be difficult to live with a learning disability, but schools are becoming more accommodating to issue students have. But the thing is a large percentage of students have learning disabilities, but the thing is once you learn how you learn. Everything you thought wasn't possible is possible. I know for myself, I have struggled.
Having a learning disability doesn't mean you have to work slowly or cannot work at all its teacheing inabilities who makes us think were useless i wanted to sociailize and learn in a normal classroom my teachers didn't let me it messed me up i hated being in special ed not cause of the students but the teachers i lost it and swore at them and just hated being there i never got out of special ed till high school i regret not getting out earlier i m doing horrible cause nobody bothered teachingme
@CovertOPSDragunov It's almost like these teachers believe in segregations. You know, it's us, (insert derogatory term), the them (the normal student)..
Everything he just described is the same for me everyday and I know there are many more people like him and I in the world. For us it feels like your a ghost, invisible to the world, able to interact but you can never be the same as anyone else.
I've just discovered my son has a learning disability. Even though he is probably half your age, I believe his pain is the same as yours. As I read all the comments I realize that I must continue to help my son with his school work, no matter how old he gets. He is so intelligent, and he has so much potential and I know he can be successful. Videos like yours that are sincere and come from within are the best ones. Thank you for your video Andrew and KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK! =)
I have a specific learning disability since i was a child. Ever since then, i faced those obstacles. The odds were even. Those who tell you, your "slow" or "not normal" can kiss my ass.
@theboss9190 your right, at the end of the day those who have been bullied because of people thinking of us differently shall be the ones to fall while people with Ld shall rise and flourish.
i can do maths piece of piss i can spell easy and thats about al im good at =\ if i try and learn sumting thats like hands on or even general knowledge i suck :( i am struggling with driving lessons have been doin them for over a year now and stil feel like no improvment is being made . . . shit lifee
I see just about everyone has problems in math as I do. I hate it sooo much....I also suffered in school basically all my life. I only made the A B Honor Roll once in my life....and that was in 4th grade...after that Multiplication and division, then everything went down hill. I always remember when I was young my school would take me to different places to see people and take test without being informed why i was doing them...now I think I know why. It was because I had LD....
Im doing bad in English and Math. Every night I cry because Im afraid that I will fail 7th grade. This video has taught me so much to never give up and try your best. I hope I will end up ending 7th grade with achievements.
I tryed talking about it with my mom, but she says that I don't, But I KNOW that I do because it takes me forever to learn something, and I never concentrate enough.
Ask to see an educational psychologist, because only they can diagnose you. Maybe your Mum is in denial, she doesn't want you to be labelled with "special needs" but I think you really do need help and seeing the educational psychologist and getting some answers could really help. If you say you can't concentrate, I suppose you might have ADD or ADHD.
Did you ever thought, that learning smth tekes you a long time because you don't really concentrate. . It is always easy, to blame others i.e. dislecsiya, discalculiya LD. . .?
Hey Bomjable.....learning disabilities aren't away to blame other people and its not a concentration problem either. People with disabities just learn at different paces.....they are learning, just not as fast as others.
@DragonInk101 I don't mind. . . I just meen, that they are able to do the things people without LD do. The thing you said about the period of time they need, is correct, but I work with LD-s, I'm an ergotherapist in Armenia, i had practice in Georgia & Belgium, and what I really saw, is in most cases, children with LD are minimum concentrated, , ,
i feel the same way. i'm glad i go to this school. the teachers are nice and it's easy for me to get along with other kids. because many of them have learning disabilities, just like me.
Great Video Dude! Keep in there! you seem very intelligent, You have two things going for you. you are intelligent AND have a good Work Ethic. these two things are a rare combo that will get you ANYWHERE
Thank you for making this video. I can really related to your difficulties. Always remember you are a wonderful person and will go far... bless you :)
I feel Andrews pain . I have learning disabilty myself. My class room is in a basement and I feel like I'm not normal at all. Good luck Andrew and don't stop believing.
The education systems of today are relatively poorly thought out; the standards and methods used are far too traditional and regimented in how people are given information to learn. I had and still have similar frustrations. People talk so much about "learning strategies" but I have always felt that if you do struggle in school, why is no one simply evaluating areas you are good at in life and emphasizing the growth of those areas with specialized exception to the standards holding you down
wow i can relate to this so much, this is how i felt for a really long time i have auditory and visual processing and dyslexia and i the subject that i struggle in the most is math i just can't grasp the concepts and the thing that still gets me is that i have to study for 3 hours to get a C and all my friends don't study and get A's, but i know that this is a blessing some how, thanks for making this video :)
hi AbbyG113 ive had quite a few different jobs over the years, my last job i was let go in 2010 due to the recession no job since, i am with a supportive employment group who helps people in finding jobs but nothing so far, luckily i have my disability money every week. me and especially my family had a hard time growing up, my dad had an alcohol addiction which caused a lot of problems thankfully thats ok now, i am the youngest.

This would be great except for the highly distracting noise in the background. Redo it with just silence so we can get a proper perspective.

i have Learning Disability. i feel like im the dumbest 16 years old in the world. my teachers made me go to special ed in 7th and 8th grade but every time i hear someone special ed to me i get angry real bad. i just hate that word. i have a Learning Disability in every subject but in math mostly. having Learning Disability is really hard for me. when i got transferred to special ed all of my friends laughed at me and no wanted to talk to me. i just wanted to kill myself.

Guys just found out something cool:
Einstein had Aspergus and dyslexia. When he was in school he didn't do well and his teachers didn't like him.
He showed society didn't he? Proof that having a disability can be an isability.
Bloodshotshatterbone 4 months ago
I hate people who discriminate against disabilities! People don't seem to understand that we are talented people too. And may I just point out that having a learning disability doesn't mean that you learn slower, it means you learn differently. If these disabilities aren't catered for than you will find it hard to keep up with your class mates in certain things. Also I've discovered going through life that people with the highest marks aren't necessarily the smartest people you'll ever meet.
Bloodshotshatterbone 4 months ago

This is an AMAZING video!!!

People often confuse LD with having a low IQ, however, this is not the case. The term is "mental retardation" and is a term that is used with special education for those with low IQs. If we had low IQs then we would be labeled as "retarded" instead of LD.
imanerd36 1 year ago

Having a Learning Disability does NOT give others the right to label us Retarded.
I wish they would get that word obilterated from our language/dictionary.
I got talked about alot when I was in school and that word was used at my expense.
I didn't have any real friends in school and I don't have any now.
That word is so over-used.
I work for a company that is supposed to help those with disabilities, but the words "Retarded" and "Citizens" are part of the company's name. How about that.
kd4adv 1 year ago 11
@kd4adv "I wish they would get that word obilterated from our language/dictionary." Unfortunately, there will always people out there who view us as a bunch of "retards" who don't belong in society. It can be difficult to live with a learning disability, but schools are becoming more accommodating to issue students have. But the thing is a large percentage of students have learning disabilities, but the thing is once you learn how you learn. Everything you thought wasn't possible is possible. I know for myself, I have struggled.

@theboss9190 I have nothing but contempt for people like that, even my own family members.

@Phostings1 In my final exams in math, my grade was 12%! lol If that's not a sign that something is wrong, then I don't know what is.

Im doing bad in English and Math. Every night I cry because Im afraid that I will fail 7th grade. This video has taught me so much to never give up and try your best. I hope I will end up ending 7th grade with achievements.

You need to get help, try to talk to your teachers or parents about it. Do you think you have a learning disability?
Android18uk 2 years ago
I tryed talking about it with my mom, but she says that I don't, But I KNOW that I do because it takes me forever to learn something, and I never concentrate enough.
XOHaleyKinz13XO 2 years ago
Ask to see an educational psychologist, because only they can diagnose you. Maybe your Mum is in denial, she doesn't want you to be labelled with "special needs" but I think you really do need help and seeing the educational psychologist and getting some answers could really help. If you say you can't concentrate, I suppose you might have ADD or ADHD.
Android18uk 2 years ago
Did you ever thought, that learning smth tekes you a long time because you don't really concentrate. . It is always easy, to blame others i.e. dislecsiya, discalculiya LD. . .?
Bomjable 1 year ago
Hey Bomjable.....learning disabilities aren't away to blame other people and its not a concentration problem either. People with disabities just learn at different paces.....they are learning, just not as fast as others.
DragonInk101 1 year ago 5
@DragonInk101 I don't mind. . . I just meen, that they are able to do the things people without LD do. The thing you said about the period of time they need, is correct, but I work with LD-s, I'm an ergotherapist in Armenia, i had practice in Georgia & Belgium, and what I really saw, is in most cases, children with LD are minimum concentrated, , ,

@XOHaleyKinz13XO If you're legally an adult, you can get tested without anybody knowing.

i feel the same way. i'm glad i go to this school. the teachers are nice and it's easy for me to get along with other kids. because many of them have learning disabilities, just like me.
gameboy3800 2 years ago

The education systems of today are relatively poorly thought out; the standards and methods used are far too traditional and regimented in how people are given information to learn. I had and still have similar frustrations. People talk so much about "learning strategies" but I have always felt that if you do struggle in school, why is no one simply evaluating areas you are good at in life and emphasizing the growth of those areas with specialized exception to the standards holding you down

I am LD too. I am currently in university, and know only to well what you are struggling with.

wow i can relate to this so much, this is how i felt for a really long time i have auditory and visual processing and dyslexia and i the subject that i struggle in the most is math i just can't grasp the concepts and the thing that still gets me is that i have to study for 3 hours to get a C and all my friends don't study and get A's, but i know that this is a blessing some how, thanks for making this video :)
