Okay, I don't see how the two are comparable. J.K. Rowling's books are complex, and they draw you in. I liked Twilight for a few months, but I didn't find the plot complicated at all. Boy and girl meet. They fall in love. Girl nearly gets killed a few times, boy comes to save her. Then they get married, have sex, and have a baby. SMeyer prepares for this HIUUUGE fight...and it never happens. HP is the exact opposite. But this is just my opinion.

Why do interviewers keep bringing up HP with this? Like what does this have to do with another author's books? They always have to create this faux competition between people instead of just letting this particular author have her own success. It's like how the media compares Megan Fox to Angelina Jolie & creates this sort of competition when there's room for BOTH actresses to keep working. The main mistake is that they are asuming HP and Twilight are the same readers. Mostly not.

HP readers have already grown and enjoy reading books. Twilight fans are just learning to read and most of them haven't read anything else in their short lives.

Of course, there's people who read Fabio books and you can't do anything about it.

Twilight ALONE is very good. I've read the first few pages of Midnight Sun on Stephenie's website and it's rather astounding. Can't wait for THAT baby to come out. Maybe she will rewrite New Moon and Eclipse on Edward's version too? Who knows. I hope she lives that long and writes THAT good.
