  • I agree alot on the fact that everything is the same in new vegas everything is in the same place witch can really make it annoying and after you beat the game and want at to beat it again and loading is also really annoying on new vegas but it is a good game. i disagree about armor on ncr that really makes it realistic i mean us soilders dont fight in t shirts and shorts but you cant expect milatry to be easy to kill.

  • Vegas wins, nuff said -_-

  • I dont know which one is better fallout 3 or fallout new vegas can someone get me some notes about them plz.

  • @Vadrigar1 It depends on what kind of game you want. New Vegas has more focus on story, characters, factions, choice&consequence. In some ways, it's more like a classic game. It doesn't force you to do anything, but it encourages you more.

Fallout 3 on the other hand focuses more on exploration, free roaming and collecting. In my opinion, it's more like a post apocalyptic hiking simulator.

There's no "That one's better than that." It's all taste and preference.

  • @fredmachine I like good story and choices also a lots of explorations and wandering I hope that they will combine those two games in Fallout 4.But thanks man very much,by your notes I would rather choose fallout 3 because of explorations and other stuff. Also I noticed that in Fallout New Vegas I was exploring much more than doing quests.THANKS MAN!

  • @Vadrigar1 Oh, NV has plenty of exploration, don't get me wrong. It's just that pretty much every place also has a meaningful story to it. New Vegas is a little harsher, though, less forgiving. At times, exploration is a little harder because enemies don't level as much as they do in Fallout 3. That's the fun, though. I recommend NV, really. Mainly because I absolutely loathe Fallout 3, but that's just my opinion :D

  • @fredmachine I already played NV and passed it,now I am going to play Fallout 3 so I wanted to know what are the difference and does it worth of playing.

  • @Vadrigar1 Fallout 3 Vanilla is like New Vegas ending wise but if you get Broken Steel or even better the GOTY disk 2 you can have hundreds of hours because the game doesn't end. I love both games and I think they're both great for different reasons. In fact I'm still working on Old World Blues and the rest of DLC for NV which is a fucking blast. It's totally worth playing F3 through SERIOUSLY.

  • @Mcdovin1 Wooaah I didn't know that Fallout 3 is that great,well then I will try it.

  • @Vadrigar1 Nah, it's really not that great. He pretty much lied about half of those things.

  • @Nazrat84 No I didn't. In my personal opinion they are both fantastic games especially with MODS!

  • @Mcdovin1 So the game needs to be tinkered with just to be good? That's not a good sign.

  • @Nazrat84 No, mods just add more to it. I've probably played more of my 360 version then PC because I just enjoy it more. Like I said though, it's just my personal opinion. But if you haven't tried it yet, you really should give it a great chance.

  • @Mcdovin1 I did. A terrible game living in the vain of the previous titles. Waste of money, too easy, nothing to do with Fallout.

Fallout New Vegas is glorious and is probably the closest to a Fallout game these 3D renditions will ever get. Heavy base on stats, difficult gameplay, no aimbot VATS, but a new balanced one, No level scaling, meaning enemies have their own levels and they don't level with the player, and better landmarks to explore.

New Vegas is a true underrated RPG masterpiece.

  • @Nazrat84 Of course New Vegas is great, but Fallout is about STORY as well as gameplay. If we go by the shit that is considered passable by the sheep then Fallout/isometric titles would be considered a disgrace. But since the classic's still stick because of the story Fallout 3 still goes by that standard. Here's what you're doing: comparing 2 games. F3 was something new Bethesda was trying and gambling on, New Vegas was trying to reinvent the wheel. OF COURSE it's better since it's newer.

  • @Mcdovin1 Story? New Vegas and Fallout 3 were developed by different companies. Fallout 3 was developed in-house by Bethesda, and New Vegas was developed by Obsidian (who are also former members of Black Isle).

When you compare, you see two different writing styles. Fallout 3 is a lot more superficial, with lots of distractions and half-completed thoughts. New Vegas is very different experience, with a much more complex writing style that' fulfills at every point.

  • @DevilTakeMe I recently read a thread on the nexus discussing what if Fallout 3 was just a simulator for Brotherhood members and in reality it was the Enclave that were the good guys. It goes on to talk about how the "victor" are the ones to rewrite history and such. It makes the game much more believable. If I find it I'll post it here. But it makes sense when you really think about it. The Wasteland isn't as bad as they make it seem and then the Brotherhood just come along...

  • @Mcdovin1 That's really what makes Fallout 3 so superficial, and why the writing is so bad. In order to really make it more believable, you have to make wild fan theories in order to make sense of it all.

  • @Nazrat84 In short you have to remember that Bethesda created and established Elder Scrolls and Interplay/Black Isle went under with Van Buren in semi-production. Now before you tell me I'm thinking too much on this, remember they are both GREAT titles for different reasons. I love the story of 3 and the atmosphere of NV. Once Fallout was re-established among the current generation we knew Bethesda could be trusted with other style of games in development and publishing. LOOK AT SKYRIM.

  • @Mcdovin1 But Skyrim is too easy, boring, and just terrible too... It's not even and RPG, just another hack n slash with an open world gimmick. There is no replay value either. That's the WORST example you can use in this situation.

Bethesda can't make games for shit.

  • @Nazrat84 Have you even tried Arena or Daggerfall? I know you aren't trolling so I rule that out. But I can say that maybe I just enjoy the freedom you can have in their games. If they are such bad games then why do true gamers enjoy them immensely? I've been gaming since I was 2 and I can say I personally love games with just a compelling atmosphere and the art style. If there is no replay value as you say then how come I find myself as well as watching other people play years later?

  • @Mcdovin1 Maybe I just love great gameplay. It sure explains why GoldenEye, Perfect Dark, Sonic 2, Zelda OOT/MM, Conker's Bad Fur Day, Mario NES, Super Mario World, Zelda, MadWorld, No More Heros, GTA, Fallout, Elder Scrolls, Tetris, Pacman, Space Invaders, Castle Wolfenstein, Doom, Quake, Postal 2, Portal, Half-Life, Team Fortress 2, Left 4 Dead 1&2, MYST, AoE, Civ, Prince of Persia OLD SCHOOL, Contra, Battlefield 1942, Counter Strike, Crazy Taxi, Sonic Adventure ETC all are fun to me

  • @Mcdovin1 YES FOR GOD SAKES YES! I'm not retarded you autistic piece of shit shit! True gamer isn't even a TERM. There is no such thing. In a matter of fact, Gamer shouldn't even exist itself. If people like to play one genre or style over another, fine, but don't fucking LABEL THEM as some sort of social class!

Maybe because you have shitty taste in video games, and you DON'T fit in with real "true gamers"? There is a word for your type of people, it's called "casual." Choke on a bag of dicks.

  • @Nazrat84 Dude, you play Call of Duty. But aside from that, what was the first game you ever played?

  • @Mcdovin1 Mega Man 3. I'm an old guy.

But I digress, I just wanted views on my account, plus the fact that it's only bot and single player modes that I play to pass time at work. Unlike yourself, my life isn't devoted to bad games. I don't post videos of me bragging about how half of my games are absolute shit.

  • @Nazrat84 I forgot Deus Ex, and basically every great game out there is all recognized for the gameplay. If it sucks it wont stand the test of time. Hence why Fallout is wicked 4 years later. Okay I admit Skyrim IS MORE STREAMLINED, but I think it works great. The problem with most RPG's is the UI and complex menu system. Some games need it and are better off, but if you can ROLEPLAY as you want, then isn't that the point of the game. No more being stuck halfway through and restarting.

  • @Vadrigar1 For one thing, there is nothing worth exploring in Fallout 3. It's very boring, and WAY too easy. There is no challenge either. If you played New Vegas first, there is no point in playing Fallout 3. You will feel like you have wasted money since it lacks the same depth and style.

  • @Vadrigar1 It's worth playing through Fallout 3 once or twice at best. Beyond that, it's replay value is only about wandering around the wasteland, and it's not that interesting. If you go through it more often than that, you're just going through the motions.

With New Vegas, you can play the game several different times and spend many hundreds of hours playing the game different ways.

  • @DevilTakeMe I like deserts more than cities but I already passed and I noticed that there is a little bit less to explore in NV than in Fallout 3 but I will try Fallout 3 just because Fallouts are the best games in the world.I am barely waiting for Fallout 4 it is going to be the best game I ever played.

  • @Vadrigar1 Play Fallout 3. Compare it to New Vegas. If you think Fallout 3 or Skyrim was good, then you'll probably like whatever they have in store for Fallout 4. I thought Fallout 3 was terrible, but I thought Skyrim was an improvement from Oblivion, but not as good as Morrowind.

If Bethesda learned from Obsidian, maybe Fallout 4 could be good.

  • @DevilTakeMe Fallout 4 will probably have graphic engine like skyrim, I thought where is Fallout 4 all this time. But they where spending time on Skyrim now I know how is Fallout 4 going to look like probably the will make them in more parts just like Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas.

  • @Vadrigar1 Bethesda bought the Fallout franchise for a ton of cash just for that purpose.

But yeah, Bethesda -generally- has been following a 4-5 year cycle in producing games (Oblivion released in 2006, Skyrim at end of 2011, Fallout 3 was announced in 2004, released in 2008). They're currently busy with Skyrim, but Bethesda is also currently hiring for a next-gen console game (whatever is after the PS3/360).

So, Fallout 4 may possibly be a next-gen console game as well.

  • @DevilTakeMe I like deserts more than cities but I passed NV and I want to try Fallout 3 just because Fallouts are the best games in the world.I can barely wait for Fallout 4 it is going to be my best game I ever played.

  • i agree fallout 3 is way better than new vegas

  • fuck fnv fallout 3 is way better

  • imagine a fallout crossover with elder scrolls

  • I love how people are saying Fallout 3 has a bad story well compared to new vegas its awesome. Also Fallout 3 never ends thanks to Broken steel. New vegas ends thanks to Obsidian im so glad they will not be able to make another Fallout game they Fucked New vegas up big time long load times, loads of bugs, Very boring side-quests apart from Come fly with me, and about 4 others. But i do like the faction system and ammo and weapon mods.

  • @FalloutTactics92 What's the point of a game without an ending? Bethesda can't write for crap, afterall. The game originally ended with your own sacrifice, but it was such a bad ending that Bethesda had to go and change it. That's not a good ending if you have to change it. And what they came up with is hardly better.

What I like is how you think a game that doesn't end is a good game. The best stories have endings, they don't just drone like a zombie.

  • @DevilTakeMe The story for 3 was love and loss dealing with new life in the wasteland it packed a more emotional punch. Bottom line for a Sequel to 3 New vegas added nothing new apart from weapon mods and stuff. 3 had an ending until broken steel which was onlyput in cause so many fans had complaints about it. Then obsidian come along and put us back to square one and whats the point of helping all these factions when we never get to see the aftermath. Watch IGN,Gamespot review

  • @FalloutTactics92 You trust IGN? Read an article from them titled "Five Lessons Fallout 4 can Learn From Skyrim" - they want the next Fallout to be far from the wasteland, and be somewhere pretty, just like Skyrim with guns.

The bottom line is that Fallout 3 added nothing that wasn't already present in Fallout 1 or 2 - they even reused the same bad guys and plot.

New Vegas actually moved the storyline along.

  • The story of Fallout 3 is supposed to be this sappy story about your father and forced themes of sacrifice. "Love and Loss"?

What does James want? He wants you to live, as well as for his project to work so that other people can live as well. But when it came time, you had to sacrifice yourself or Sarah, despite having Fawkes or Charon or RL-3 with you.

Fawkes even tells you that he would rather explode because it's not his destiny to go into the chamber.

  • It's utterly idiotic, because the writer wanted to force the theme of Sacrifice, even though it made no sense.

James wants you to live as well as for the Purifier to work. So why force this stupid ending where you die even though you have a follower who can and has gone into radiation-filled chambers for you already?

You had to -buy- Broken Steel in order to fix such a crappy ending. Does that mean the story is good? You're still called a coward for not going in yourself.

  • You talk about seeing the 'aftermath' of your work, then why in Broken Steel, is the first thing out of your mouth about telling Elder Lyons where the Super mutants originate? Vault 87.

"Lyons, the super mutants come from Vault 87!"

Go through all of Broken Steel.

Lyrons: "Oh, here, you can go and kill some more super mutants and stuff - you told us where they're located, but we're not going to do anything about it."

  • @DevilTakeMe Fallout 3 focused more on Survival and about people trying to survive day to day battles with the outside world and thats why allot of people find it immersive. New vegas is nothing but a DLC nothing we havent seen already. Its dosent feel like Fallout in anyway the atmosphere is terrible jazz music,drunks,Gang-bangers and the story is all about politics boring in so many ways the only decent parts of the story were hunting benny down.

  • @FalloutTactics92 No it didn't. Survival isn't as big an issue as people like to claim Fallout 3 is about. It's been 200 years since the Great War, and look around, there are children being born, people growing very old. There's not much of a 'struggle' as you say there is anywhere in the Capital Wasteland.

People have been living in Megaton for decades, and Simms flat out tells you, it's been pretty safe and pretty good for everyone.

  • @DevilTakeMe Yes but those are settlements look at the Super mutant behemoth it could flat out destroy megaton so it wasnt safe you can blow it up yourself. Besides the enclave were going to wipe everyone out if they took power by poisoning the water theres things in the game that the general poultion wouldnt know about the enclave lied to keep everyones hopes up for a better future it is survival based if it wasnt you would spawn with lots of guns and ammo.

  • @FalloutTactics92 The immediate problem with your theories is that the Enclave was -not- going to poison the purifier. The whole fact that Col. Autumn countermands Pres. Eden to prevent you from escaping is proof positive. Why didn't Eden just give Autumn the virus to do so?

The super mutants and behemoths have been around for over a hundred years (long before the BOS showed up) and Megaton is still standing.

Sounds like you need to play the game a few more times.

  • As for Megaton, again, they've been around that bomb for decades, and the only reason it didn't explode was because no one had bothered to disarm or detonate it. Again, the residents all say that they aren't bothered about it if it's left alone.

Behemoths? Again, they've been around for decades, they require time to grow. Like the one in the Capitol Building. It just sat there and grew for a few years, and patiently let the mercs in there set up turrets around it while it grew.

  • @DevilTakeMe yeah well it has been a while since i played it. But i do remember a power struggle between Eden and autumn but the FEV virus was going to kill anything that has come into contact with radiation so basicly everyone. And your theory about the enclave just activating FEV is flawed greatly because 101 was the only person who knew the code for the purifier. 101 is the only person able to make the decision. Its stuff like this that makes 3 more interesting than NV

  • @FalloutTactics92 Like I said, pay more attention. There's no flaw in my argument when you remember that 101 was a prisoner being interrogated by Autumn for the code until Eden interrupted and set you free.

And don't forget, the Brotherhood of Steel says that it's only a matter of time before the Enclave figure out the code anyway, remember? That's why they're in such a rush to get you and Liberty Prime to the Purifier.

  • @DevilTakeMe Well the fact that 101 was the only one who knew the code is a valid point if you tell them the code he kills you. And its a bit like hacking it could take them days, weeks, months to figure a code out that was a personal family passage that only you and your dad knew. Elder lyons rushing you and prime to the purifier was Bethesdas way of finishing off the main story if not the game would have dragged on.

  • @FalloutTactics92 Even if Autumn didn't shoot you and activated the purifier without the FEV, what then? We never actually find out why the Enclave having the purifier was a bad thing. Eden can't poison the purifier from Raven Rock, he needed you. And if you're not there, what then?

There's no excuse, there's no story there except something a B-movie villain there. That's not a good story.

  • You're okay with Bethesda forcing you to rush on ahead? And the forcing you to sacrifice the humans when Fawkes or Charon or RL-3 are right there and can survive?

Seriously, it's just plain idiotic. James wanted you to live, the Game wants you to die. (seriously, it calls you a coward if you send anyone but yourself into the chamber, even the radiation-immune ghoul or robot who must obey you).

  • But like I said, the story in Fallout 3 is pretty bad. Why was Autumn fighting with Eden over this? You never find out. You can guess, but Fallout 3 simply fails to deliver answers to even very simple questions.

Another question is how did the Enclave get into Vault 87 to capture you? The door is still closed even after Broken Steel, Little Lamplight is untouched by the Enclave. So how did they get inside? It's never answered.

  • @DevilTakeMe Yeah there are flaws in some parts like you said but it still delivered a decent story compared to new vegas it felt like you were making a difference in 3. New vegas is just too political and with never getting to see the aftermath of what path you picked it kinda renders the whole journey pointless. And with the game being pre-scripted theres never anything new i know where all the enemies are. NV does have a better ammo and weapon system though. And i like reputation.

  • @FalloutTactics92 Like what? You have repeatedly been unable to answer the issues in Fallout 3, and now you want to try and poke holes in New Vegas?

So what if you didn't like the politics in New Vegas? Guess what? You don't have to put up with all of that, and you can't take over New Vegas for yourself. Don't like the Boomers? Kill them all or ignore them. Same with all the other factions you can 'recruit.'

Your problem is that you can't think for yourself.

  • Again, where is the "decent story" in Fallout 3, hrm? You never answered that question. Where in all of Broken Steel's linear fighting is there a good story. Where in the main story is there a part about the horror of survival in the wasteland?

Instead, you fetch items that aren't even related to survival or the intended purpose. The GECK isn't a water purifier, it's a ecological tool, yet it's reduced to purifying water.

  • @DevilTakeMe I will now answer escape the vault, defending GNR, Fighting alongside prime and learning about the BOS and Enclave. Dealing with dads death,Escaping enclave capture,Finding out why your dad left vault 101, and his past, these are most of the key action and story moments in the game. You need to start respecting other peoples opinions other than your own Seriously its an open debate over Fallout 3,New vegas everyone has different opinions you side with NV i side with 3.

  • @FalloutTactics92 "Escape!" is part of the tutorial, and it's not even that great. The most popular mods for Fallout 3 include the usage of "alternate starts" because "Growing Up in the Vault" and "Escape!" was too tedious to play through more than once. Console users often keep an extra save at the very end so they can skip through it. Not a good sign for "a good story" moment.

    But let me continue.

  • Let's start with Dad, the supposed "great person" that he's supposed to be. Here's a guy who is supposed to be this great genius and a great scientist, but he tends to be more bumbling than brilliant. He's so smart that he abandons you in the vault, with the hope that you can stay behind and live the rest of your life.

Cue the Escape! sequence and Vault security trying to kill you. And this is after all the talk between you and he about the Overseer being a bully.

  • No, Dad is not a smart scientist. What's he do next? He manages to get across the wasteland, pass by GNR to say hi to Three Dog, go to Rivet City to catch up with Dr. Li, go back to Project Purity, record 10 separate journals about restarting the project, and then get to Vault 112 and get stuck in Tranquility Lane, where you have to save him.

Mind you, that all happens between when Amata wakes you and when you leave 101. You can go straight to 112 and save Dad then.

  • As for defending GNR, that's a combat scene and has zero effect on story. Where is the story there? There is none. Just another bad guy to kill and more loot to acquire.

Ah, Liberty Prime. What was his significance? None. He's just a giant robot there to be cool, and has absolutely no effect on the story otherwise. You do nothing to acquire his services, and he's so overpowered that you don't need to do anything as he escorts you to the Purifier.

  • Escaping Raven Rock? What was really the point of that, other than to make contact with Eden and give you an evil choice when you finally get to the Purifier? More bad guys to kill, more loot. Otherwise, there's nothing story-related to the escape. Even if you find Anna Holt, it doesn't have an effect on the story.

  • All you actually did there was name off a few moments. What was special about learning about the Brotherhood or the Enclave? They both existed in the previous games. The Brotherhood was introduced in Fallout 1 and appeared in 2. The Enclave was introduced and destroyed in Fallout 2. The Enclave is pretty much unchanged from Fallout 2.

  • @DevilTakeMe This is between 3 and New vegas right? Lets review the new vegas story get shot in the head for the platinium chip by benny we have seen this type of opening in countless movies. After the bullet to the head you wake up and you appear to suffer no ill effects Unrealistic but lets continue run across a desert do about 4 point A to point B missions very boring. Find benny get info let him go or kill him. Then pick a faction and decide who runs a city.

  • Name a movie that starts the same way. I know you can't.

Again, you fail with knowing about the details. The fact that you got shot in the head and survived is a major plot point in Old World Blues. People have been shot in the head and lived.

This gets better because Maria (Benny's gun) is incapable of killing a level 1 player with even two critical shots to the head. So yes, in terms of the game, it's quite believable.

  • @DevilTakeMe The city of New vegas has about 40 people in it. Lets make a decision over who runs it Leigion enslave everyone, NCR charge tax and so on, House has an army of bots to keep Vegas his own while he works on future tech, You run vegas dont get any benefits from it the credits roll end game. Now viewing both storys i would say Vegas was boring had no major decisions and had a very annoying end result.

  • @FalloutTactics92 Oh, like how "Rivet City" has a total of about twenty people at best, or Canterbury Commons is a "Major Trading Hub" in the wasteland with less than a dozen people in it. Heck, Novac is bigger than Canterbury.

New Vegas certainly has more than 40 people in it, and there's more people coming in every day as tourists and others trying to make living can be -seen- coming in.

You failed again with the little details.

  • The best you can do is try and generalize things you clearly don't understand. You're going on about how there are no major decisions, when clearly there are, and are much more meaningful than the two decisions you actually have in Fallout 3 - whether to blow up Megaton and later the Citadel.

In New Vegas, if you run the city, you run the city, what's not to benefit from that? What? You don't know what you'd do with a whole city at your command?

  • @DevilTakeMe Well with not being able to play the game past the credits how am i technically running a city? The decision to run it is pointless you get told how Yes man and yourself did things without seeing it. And if i had a whole city at my command keeping the peace and recieving money from the casinos would be a must. aswell as payouts to police e.t.c it would have been nice to have that option in NV but sadly no

  • You have to save something for the sequels. And New Vegas has so many variables that it would pretty much become another game after the end.

In Fallout 3, after Broken Steel, there's really nothing changed. You don't get to see what defeating the Enclave actually does, now do you? I told you that you told Elder Lyons where the Super Mutants are located, but you never do anything about it. Nothing important changed after the end.

  • Broken Steel added only a couple minor things, like a handful of quests around the Purifier, and everything else was about the Enclave. If you blew up the Citadel, what then? It didn't really do anything to the Wasteland except made the BOS hostile to you.

Blow up the Enclave Crawler, does that change anything in the game? Not really, no. The Enclave will still pop up at certain points in the Wasteland, etc.

Most of the decisions in Fallout 3 were mostly meaningless.

  • @DevilTakeMe Well if we were going to get more in depth theres now Aqua-pura that the BOS are giving out. If you destroy the enclave base you dont hear there Radio signals so no more false propaganda, You destroy Adams base so no more enclave attacks for a while they still have a few forces scattered without leadership in the Wastleand. But thats all i have noticed anyway nothing to important though

  • @FalloutTactics92 The thing about the Enclave radio signals is actually a bug - the signals are supposed to end after Broken Steel starts. During the two weeks you were unconscious, Liberty Prime destroys Raven Rock if you failed to do so (you can go back and check yourself). The bug is also related to the bug where Three Dog will talk about events from Broken Steel before you actually get to Broken Steel.

  • But see? There's hardly anything of importance occurring after Broken Steel that you had influence on.

Not like new Vegas. For just about every variable, they'd have to program a different set-up. If the Legion one (and Caesar lived), you'd have to redecorate all of New Vegas with crucified NCR or civilians, and if Caesar had died, further chagnes. And then a different set up with the NCR, or you. Best for a new game to find out what happened.

  • Even if you destroy the Brotherhood of Steel at the end of Broken Steel, the BOS remains in control of the Purifier no matter what. Scribe Bigsley is immortal/essential. You didn't really change that much.

New Vegas, you change a lot. Your changes are meaningful. And you don't really need to see everything after that. You're done. Let go, and begin again.

  • @DevilTakeMe I got this game on release the reason im so pissed at it was i paid £90 for the collectors edition thinking it was going to be as good as 3 but they didnt do much and it froze like every 1 hour i just feel ripped off i dunno how much you spent on your copy but thats not money to just throw away if they had made changes in visuals, and gameplay and do something about that piece of shit outdated game engine i wouldnt be so annoyed about it.

  • @FalloutTactics92 Do you play on a console or PC? If on console, I would understand, but that's something that comes with having consoles in the first place. If on PC, then you really need to patch your game - it's very stable now.

  • @DevilTakeMe I play on 360, maybe now you can see where most of the complaints come from how can they perfect a game on P.C but mess up badly on console i mean the game isnt exactly overpowering anything on the motherboard it just seems like consoles get the short end of the stick. What settings do run New vegas on your P.C

  • @FalloutTactics92 Ah, yeah. My understanding is that New Vegas was better supported on the PS3 than the 360.

My specs on PC? Well, I can run New Vegas on the netbook at very low settings, but I get about 40-50 fps on my gaming rig at max settings,It's a bit older, but still got some juice in it.

I recommend the PC version should you be able to. Mods make Fallout 3 and New Vegas even better. I don't even want to play Fallout 3 without them.

  • @DevilTakeMe Are you sure my freind plays on PS3 and his crashed allot more than mine did but anyway i was planning on getting an Alienware gameing laptop is that a good choice.

  • @FalloutTactics92 No, I'm not sure about the 360 and PS3, just what I hear. Like I hear that Alienware has pretty atrocious tech support, but the hardware is great if you're willing to shell out money for it.

  • @DevilTakeMe Is there anything better i can get for £2000? I dont have enough time to build one myself but i hear Alienware are not as good as they used to be but are still great for gameing. Any suggestions?

  • @FalloutTactics92 I would shop around first before spending the cash, but Alienware is a good, solid choice for gaming on the go. But don't take just my word on that.

  • @DevilTakeMe Yeah well thanks for the help. Im going into the city 2mz so i will defo have a good look around.

  • @DevilTakeMe Alienware is terribly overpriced.

  • @Nazrat84 I agree, the problem is that it's hard to go to any kind of computer outlet and pick up a reliable gaming laptop. As I told him, it's best to do some comparison shopping in his area if not ordering online.

  • @DevilTakeMe Now looking at locations 3 had Capitol building,Washington monument,Megaton,Rivet city,Big town,Lamplight,The citadel and some interesting locations in between. New vegas the strip good gambling,Goodsprings cannot aquire a house or rent, other locations are outposts a couple of tents nothing interesting, Just sand and tumbleweed.

  • @DevilTakeMe Now side quests my favorite part. FO3 had stealing independence,Replicated man,Big trouble in big town,Wastland survival guide,Head of state these are favorites in 3 by me and most of my freinds. Now vegas had Volare,Come fly with me,That lucky old son i lol at the other 80 or whatever that are strictly bringing letters and packages to people maybe killing the odd person here and there faction quests dont count as they all do the same just in reverse.

  • @FalloutTactics92 You mean "Head of State" where the "same just in reverse" happens where you can either attack the slaves or the slavers? And then you can turn in the same exact items to one side or the other. Yeah. That doesn't count as good, either.

Stealing Independence? Stealing old documents - not something important about Survival.

Replicated man. Stealing a concept from "Blade Runner" about Replicants and not very well.

  • "Big Trouble In Big Town!" Ah, here's a brilliant one. All those kids from Little Lamplight, after years of being able to fend off Slavers and Super mutants, leave for Big Town, where, inexplicably, they don't remember anything from being in Little Lamplight, and are being overrun by Slavers and Super Mutants.

Right. So they need the Lone Wanderer to teach them how to defend themselves again, even though they're supposed to be pretty experienced since children. Right.

  • @DevilTakeMe But its like that in NV aswell kill Kimball or save him, Kill mr house or let him live. Destroy the monorail or save it Its an RPG for a reason the player must make a choice in FO3 good or bad, same in vegas they just changed it by turning it into Faction missions.

  • Saving Kimball or House has an effect in the story, as does killing him. Pay more attention or don't, that's your decision.

On the other hand, what do we have in Fallout 3? What if you decide to shoot an important character because you don't like them, like Dr. Li? You can't. She only goes unconscious because the story doesn't allow her to die. She must live through the game. Dad must also live up to where he dies in the story.

  • @DevilTakeMe At the end of the day New vegas even on release was terrible for bugs, corrupt save files, crashing they put next to no effort in when it came to areas of development it has the same textures and models as the previous game and yeah i know the game engine but why put a price tag on a game thats deffective. And just listen to this guy the first 10mins of the vid is how bad vegas is.

  • @FalloutTactics92 This video was also released two years after Fallout 3 was released. It says nothing about the most horrible time for Fallout 3 players (Patch 1.3) - the game was totally unplayable. Fallout 3 was not stable on release either, even after Bethesda worked on it for 4 years.

New Vegas is patched, and the Ultimate Edition is far more stable than Fallout 3 GOTY now. How long did Obsidian have to make New Vegas? Less than 2 years, and they came out with more.

  • Furthermore, why don't you listen to the video yourself? Wings goes on about the gameplay aspects, and he prefers Fallout 3 because it's easier for him. Listen to him go on about how he'd rather have easier gameplay than have an "unnecessry" challenge. He calls having a little more realism a "flaw."

He also gets DT confused with DR (Fallout 3 had no DT, it only had DR), New Vegas had DT and DR (as the old games did).

  • @DevilTakeMe Now overall imo and at IGN,Gamespot aswell as wings of redemption FO3 is the clear winner for Story,Quests,Setting and DLC. Vegas is better for weapon variety, mods,Rep system,More interactive people in the game, and Uniqe weapons you know New vegas is regarded as a giant DLC for FO3 for a reason no changes to game mechanics, Same problems such as Crashes, load issues. If you play on P.C you may have not had these probs but ask any console gamer and they will tell you.

  • @DevilTakeMe Pardon my spelling error there.

  • Fallout new vegas-fun

    Fallout 3-better storyline

  • I dont know. I like Fallout 3 better. New Vegas well, its not the same feeling.

  • new vegas is better= can aim ironsights, weapon customization, when you kill someone it shows it in slow-mo, new gunz! xD

  • one problem, FO3 and FONV on the ps3 took at least 5 mins to load the open wasteland.

  • I never realized how shitty fnv is to fo3...fallout 3 here i come...

  • Fallout 3 had a WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYY Better story i mean Broken steel was fucking amazing but i hated FNV's story, IDK why. But New vegas and FO3 both had an amazing setting, but 15% of FNV'S map is not able to be explored, due to invisible walls. But in FO3 There aren't any invisible walls. FNV is much more buggy then FO3. I also love songs from both games, Fo3 has butcher pete, i don't wanna set the world on fire, etc. But FNV has Aint that a kick in the head, big iron and heartaches

  • @IhearaHunter117 completly aggred. but i liked fallout 3's songs and setting sooo much better. and i feel like it was bigger and longer.

  • @GENNAVISOIN Then you agree with me 100%, i like fallout 3's songs and setting better. i like some of new vegas's music but not all of it, i mean the only songs i like on FNV are big iron, heartaches by the number, and aint that a kick and the head. I also like Blue Moon, but not that much. I like ALL the songs on Fo3. FNV'S landscape had too many invisible walls, i mean the entire outer border isn't even explorable on FNV. fo3 has like NO invisible walls. Plus fo3 has... THE DUNWICH BUILDING

  • @IhearaHunter117 Fallout 3 had just as many invisible walls, and most don't even make any sense. It's even worse in Point Lookout where there's nothing but a white picket fence you can't jump over because it forms the border of the map. The Downtown ruins are nothing but a bunch of invisible walls to force you to use the metro tunnels, when some of the ruins are clearly something you should be able to climb over.

  • @GENNAVISOIN Fallout 3 was pretty small actually. 81 quests total, with all five DLC versus 120 quests in New Vegas with no DLC (there's over 200 quests with all four DLC).

The problem with Fallout 3's songs is that they were pretty generic. They simply represented the 30s and 40s (Fallout is supposed to be the 50s, but there's hardly any songs from that era in 3).

  • @DevilTakeMe fallout is set in the future, but none of its liveing setting or culture changed from the 50's but the weapons and tech advanced far beyond what we have today, i do not know or care When the songs came out in real life but they still fit FO3 perfectly. and for the quests, i did not care much for,i beat them all, but fo3 quests felt like they had more purpose and story to them, also Fo3 is just bigger In general in map size and thats were most of my play time went.

  • @GENNAVISOIN Incorrect. Fallout is set in an alternate universe where America didn't progress culturally beyond the 1950s, or more simply "A future envisioned by 1950s America in the midst of Atomic Horror and Fear." It was always intended to evoke the mindset of the 1950s culture - be it media or otherwise.

  • @GENNAVISOIN Fallout 3 quests had purpose or story? Like bringing a letter from Lucy West to her family in Arefu?

Lucy West practically begs you to take a letter home because it's something she says is very important. You go and discover her parents are dead and that her brother ate them. Solve Arefu's problem, and when you go back to Lucy, she says she'd forgotten about that and you can't tell her about what happened.

Guess that wasn't important. So much for purpose.

  • Or more importantly, the whole part of the main story, where you're supposed to be bringing water to this wasteland that's in such dire need of it. Nevermind that James skipped out for 20 years so he could bring you to the Vault, there's been 200 years of people living out in the Wastes without pure water.

And that's before you note that Rivet City, Tenpenny Tower and Megaton already have clean water systems. No one's been dying because of dirty water, so it's not really necessary, is it?

  • @DevilTakeMe also, its much more deep then that, theirs the brother hood the vault the enclave, the supermutants theres tons of more things in the main story then just get out of vault find dad see him die, then get the geck and make the purifier work. besides whats the story line of FONV? get shot in the face, live get a coin, join ncr ceasar or house or kill house , then go to the bot factory and blow it,actvate it, then go to the dam and kill the boss. WHOOP not the most compelling story.

  • @GENNAVISOIN What story was there with the Super Mutants, hrm? Or the Enclave? Or the Vaults? Hrm? All three of them were ripped off from Fallout 1 and 2, almost verbatim. Hell, Bethesda didn't get them right.

What story do the Super Mutants tell? They're FEV experiments (just like in Fallout 1 and 2), but in Fallout 3, they are just there to be monsters who eat people and have no other function except to be monsters.

  • @DevilTakeMe lies, some super mutants were freindly, and one fawks could be your follower, though he was allmost invincible so i see no reason to bring him along other then a "bag" to put my stuff in. besides i think they were a good foe i mean big scary green guys who would kill you at low levels and still present a challenge later in the game with the broken steel dlc.

  • @GENNAVISOIN There were only two Fallout 3 super mutants who would not attack you - Fawkes and Uncle Leo. Neither of them have any particular character development. That's it. Every other super mutant would attack you on sight to eat you.

Basically, they're treated as generic fantasy orcs who pillage and kill for no reason except to be bad. They don't even get the Fallout 1 super mutants right in that they have leaders or a greater plan at work.

  • Fallout 3's enclave is a carbon copy of the Enclave in Fallout 2. A remnant of the pre-war US government who wants to use FEV to kill people in the Wasteland. For what reason? It's never explained why Autumn wants the Purifier, just that he does.

Eden wants to kill all mutants, but he forgets that mutation is a natural process anyway, and FEV used in that manner would kill everyone regardless of whether he thinks the Lone Wanderer is 'pure' or not.

But that's not Autumn's goal. What is?

  • @GENNAVISOIN Fallout 3's story is about having to save your idiot of a father as he bumbles his way through the Wasteland, watch him die because of own idiocy, and then fight generic Nazi-esque bad guys for control over who turns on a glorified Brita water filter.

Clearly you didn't pay attention. New Vegas is about choice and who will lead into the future. The NCR, the Legion, Mr. House, and if you don't like any of them, yourself. You don't even have to gain revenge.

  • @DevilTakeMe also, the MAIN STORY LINE of ALL bethesthesda's free roam games ARE NOT the main purepose of the game, its the size, the exploration the side quests along your joinery the items you get the level, the perks , the people you talk with the locations, the setting of the game is what matters not the story line, i could care less about the story line in most bethesda's games i play them for the game itself not a main story line thats over in a couple of days.

  • @GENNAVISOIN The size of Bethesda's games has been shrinking steadily. Do some research. The first Elder Scrolls game was so massive it would take you two weeks of real world time to cross from one end to another. It's only gotten smaller. Morrowind's map was nearly twice the size of Oblivion's map. Oblivion's map is the same size as Skyrim. So your 'map' comparison is flawed and faulty.

Fallout 3's map size? It covers a 90 square mile area of the DC area.

  • @GENNAVISOIN I mean, you try and argue that Fallout 3's story was good, yet you immediately turn around and say that you don't care about the story. That doesn't make you much of a believable or credible critic of the story, does it?

Bethesda's characters are general morons with poor character development and bad voice acting. The locations aren't sensible and look more like they were designed by kids with crayons. The story is like bad fanfiction.

  • @DevilTakeMe no no no, after you find him that hes with the vampires you have to do many things and theirs many ways you can do that quest, you can also get a unique weapon wirch i guess means something because i collected all the unique items in that game :P besides what i mean by a story is that like, you do one quest you figure out what its about you try to solve it and depending on what quest it was you get another quest adding More time to that particular quest. thus, giving it a story.

  • @GENNAVISOIN What you mean by story is that you prefer pretty graphics over anything sensible or intelligent.

Pay attention. Ian West is with the "Vampires" because he killed and ate his parents, how you resolve the situation with Arefu is up to you, but the story just ends there. If you go back to Lucy and tell her you delivered the letter, you can't tell her that her parents are dead or that Ian was the one who killed them.

    That's not a good story.

  • @IhearaHunter117 How did Fallout 3 have a better story? It was so bad that it had to be CHANGED with Broken Steel, a DLC you had to pay extra money for. People complained a lot about the original ending because they forced you to kill yourself or Sarah, nevermind if you had a radiation immune companion with you.

  • @DevilTakeMe and Bad? no it wasnt changed because it was "bad" is was changed because of the Outcry of fans wanting to keep playing after and wanting to know what happens after you activate the waters of life if you played and beat the game without the dlc it was truly a grand ending to a grand game. sure i love the add on but the story line touched me far far more in fallout 3 then fallout new vegas.

  • @GENNAVISOIN Yes, it was BAD. The ending forced the theme of "Sacrifice" because Emil Pagliano wanted it to. Again, you are forced to sacrifice yourself or Sarah in order to turn on a water purifier that is inexplicably filled with deadly radiation, despite possibly having Fawkes, Charon or RL-3. In the original ending, those three would rather explode than help you by pushing a button and having everyone survive. It wasn't about seeing what happened after. We already know.

  • Fallout 3's original ending was basically all about how you and your dad sacrificed to bring water to a Wasteland that really didn't need it.

There's enough kids being born and raised to keep filling up Little Lamplight with orphans, people growing old everywhere, with doctors around who can clean up any and all radiation problems, which are more important in food products than in water.

In water, you can filter out most radiation with dirt, and you don't need a magic GECK to do it.

  • @DevilTakeMe It wasn't bad, it was fucking amazing. I loved it, and the fact that you or sarah had to die wasn't bad, i made Fawkes go in, and Broken steel was one of the best add ons ever. FNV's story was that stupid revenge theme, and i didn't like NCR vs Legion either. And Even if you didnt' like the ending, youy can't deny that the story was awesome.

  • @IhearaHunter117 It was -bad-, because it doesn't any sense. Stop and think for one second - what did your father want? He wanted two things. For you to live, and for his water system to work. Why must you sacrifice one of the humans?

Remember, without Broken Steel, only you or Sarah can go into the purifier. Why not Fawkes? Because the writing and story was just that bad. Fawkes tells you it's "your destiny" despite the fact that he went into a radiation chamber to get the GECK for you.

  • fallout new vegas

  • Fallout new vegas is better .There is even a mod for it that lets you play fallout 3 in fallout new vegas

  • @MegaSonicKing Where can I find this mod?

  • @AlmostxGlobe123 It's called "Requiem for a Capital Wasteland" and can be found on the "New Vegas Nexus". You'll need Fallout 3 and all the DLC to use it, as you'll be copying some files from Fallout 3 into your New Vegas directory. Instructions are included on how to install that.

  • fallout nv was a better game but fallout 3 had a better feel i dont know it felt more post apocalyptic and i felt like i was on my own for the most part and i felt like the story meant something like you had a reason to do the things you did and the dlcs in fallout 3 was better

  • Both excellent games, but I preferred Fallout 3. It had more variety to it and wasn't so brown.

  • i like fallout 3 better but i like new vegas' soundtrack better

  • Fallout 3> Fallout New Vegas, however new vegas i enjoy that what you do matters more and it is more politics and groups are more involved with alliances and stuff but fallout 3 is better by a little.

  • @SawedShotgun how so?

  • @TheKing3234 fallout 3 has a better story in my opinion i believe the music edges it by a little but i love both soundtracks, fallout 3 started the rebirth of the fallout franchise there is more of a variety of things you find in fallout 3 as well in my opinion the map is bigger and the add ons are alot better. It is your personal choice i love both but i would say fallout 3.

  • @ShadowFury024 In what way didn't it make sense?

  • After playing New Vegas, I thought, "You know, Fallout 3 is basically the same game. Let's play it!" I became bored with it. I felt disconnected from the plot. It didn't feel real. With me, I thought most of the quests being somewhat connected to a faction or two was a great idea. I like that I can influence the plot with every action. If you want a wasteland, Fallout 3 is for you. If you want politics and intrigue in a post-post-apocalyptic world, try New Vegas.

  • Too bad Fallout 3 didn't make any sense in the Fallout Universe.

  • fallout new vegas is clearly the superior game

  • @purpleSun6292 how so? any proof?

  • @TheKing3234

your name is "theking" because your actually a fagget ass queen

  • @purpleSun6292 that doesnt anwser my question u fucking nigger .

  • when i play fallout 3 i kinda do the whole "special forces" style because ill go out for like weeks on the game at a time and never run out of ammo cause i used the hunting rifle mainly unless i ran into those fuckin talon mercs fun game none the less have really beaten game...yet...

  • The main gripe I had with Fo3 was that the story was just a "boyscouts vs baby eaters" type, and the story sticks out in SO many other ways that I'm not listing, it just feels like a shitty fanfic, especially with the whole "BoS is good now!!!11!!" thing, they were NOT supposed to want to help the dirty wastelanders. Fallout: New Vegas, on the other hand, did everything Fo3 did right, but upped the story to a new level.

  • To people who have played fallout 3 but not new vegas:

The reason I like fallout 3 more than new vegas is simply that fallout 3 was new, engrossing in its environment, the mass adventure and exploration. It was lots of fun, new vegas is esentially a GIANT expansion pack to 3, and it feels like that more than a new game. And it feels like a drag just to do the stuff you did before in what seems like a "less fulfilling" adventure. The Casino'ish feel of the game is a new hook, but not much.

  • I prefer fallout 3 to new Vegas simply because in fo3 you play as an independent hero rather than in nv you play more of a mercenary character with no past, no future, no means, no story and no reason to fight

  • @therealwelshcrew I guess you could say, that in NV you can imagine your characters past, but in one of the DLC, they have huge focus on your characters past

  • @therealwelshcrew The reason to fight .Is to rule .Have pet slaves .Or free the wastes.Oh and he has a future .And lonesome focused on your past

  • @MegaSonicKing dude, dont troll on opinions, i and a LOT of others think that fallout 3 is better than nv, in nv its like there is no past, i dont xactly hate new vegas, just dislike it compared to fallout 3

  • no fawkes was over powered

  • I played both and fallout 3 won by far

  • played both

  • fallout 3 is better

  • Comparing New Vegas to FO3 is like comparing a game with it's own total conversion (like, let's say, Oblivion compared to Nehrim). It isn't even fair. But, for the sake of comparisons, I'd say Nehrim is more superior to Oblivion than NV is to FO3. So, NV fails at evolving much as a new game of its own.

  • I like Fallout 3 better simply because of it's location. It's memorable. Well known. Everyone knows the Washington monument. But I don't even care for Vegas. It's a cool place to go... But it's not something I care for in a post-apocalyptic game. I also prefer the story in Fallout 3. And it's DLC was more worthwhile IMO.

  • @CReaper210 i agree

  • @CReaper210 Unfortunatly 3 was full of those afwul subway tunnels. And besides, games are post-apocalyptic... so... New Vegas is more post-apocalyptic. 3 story was ok, but it was just so black and white. Both of those games had worthwhile DLC when compared to other games, but imo Fallout 3 had weaker DLC (Mothership Zeta)
