@PulastyaG the alliance is like a way for airlines to connect with other airlines so they can get passengers from places they dont fly to, for instance thai dosent fly to JFK so instead they have a code share agreement with United airways to bring all those passengers to LAX where they meet with the thai plane to take them to BKK, its a complicated system

I know exactly what you mean. The 747 is truly the world greatest Super Jumbo jet its influence, it sheer creation is far more important then the A380. The A380 is just a big, new plane, it will never be as revolutionary as the 747.

The majority of Star Alliance airlines set really high standards. If you fly aboard Singapore Airlines, Thai, Asiana, or ANA, expect a really high level of quality. Lufthansa, SAS, Air New Zealand, or Swiss, expect really good service, like a perfect fight from Europe or the US.

However, with the level of quality, their fares aren't too cheap.

Its not just standards, alot of it is agreeing to level prices so there is not competition between them. For example if one airline has a broken aircraft and cant replace it all the passangers are dispersed on another airline in the alliance without paying more. Its kinda like "ill scratch your back and you scratch mine kind of thing"

i completely disagree here. There's Air New Zealand, All Nippon, Asiana, Singapore Airlines, South African, Swiss, Thai which are highly rated. Asiana and Singapore are both five star airlines. Air Canada is improving. United can do more and hopefully will improve same with the other airlines in the alliance. Do no generalize.
